fadedmaker84 said:Look, Linda Williams97, those cake designs from your last two posts are just painful to look at. I mean, the ones you posted before were actually decent. 👍Exactly my vibe.

I picked this one for my cake ages ago😍 unless I change my mind again, because the one Linda Williams97 just posted is so incredibly tempting.

What do you ladies think? Which one do you prefer?

Personally, I’m leaning toward the second one. There’s just an elegance to it that the first one lacks...

By the way, regarding those cakes I posted in my last few messages—they were made by a boutique bakery in New York City that specializes in high-end wedding cakes. Every single design you see is a true one-of-a-kind creation. It takes an immense amount of time to execute that level of detail, but the results speak for themselves. Plus, they taste incredible; at least from my own experience, the quality is top-tier.

I’m totally torn between cake #59 and #20 on this list.
What do you guys think? Give me your best takes!

20! 🙂

Please move this second one with the butterflies over to the butterfly thread. I already posted the first one myself... but this second shot is just too adorable to pass up.

stormyharbor12 said:... Listen, ladies, if you want the absolute best way to decorate a cake, go with fondant—or whatever that fancy term is... I can never remember. If you top it with fresh flowers, you won't be charged nearly as much, and the whole thing will look just like those high-end cakes they make over in the States. Just a heads-up though: every flower needs its own little support stake. If you don't, the bottom layer turns into nothing but a sugary mess because anything touching the cream is going to wilt and ruin everything. I really wanted to try a bit of everything... *sniff*... but my mom—who, let's be honest, is quite the seasoned pro at this—convinced me of a few things 🙂

What exactly is this "ticcino" mass? And why do you think it would be cheaper to charge for? Does it actually look that good??

I found myself in a similar situation last year while attending a wedding with my partner—he was actually serving as the best man. I had ordered this heart-shaped cake, but instead of those sharp, stylized edges you usually see, it had these soft, rounded contours. It looked like an anatomically accurate heart; honestly, I’ve never seen anything quite like it. It was covered in marzipan and topped with two large doves right in the center. To make matters more complicated, the thing was massive, easily enough to feed 100 people, if not more. When the newlyweds finally laid eyes on it, they actually complained about being served our cake because they were holding out for their own traditional wedding cake at midnight. In the end, though, they decided to keep ours since their planned dessert turned out to be far too small.

There is something remarkably sophisticated and unconventional about this one:

If I ever decide to go all out, these are exactly the colors I'd want:
