I’ve personally tried them... and honestly? Neither the cake nor the pastries were any good! I was actually planning on ordering from them... I was looking forward to my friend's wedding, but I ended up just feeling so disappointed... really. Over the last six months, I’ve had the chance to sample four different dessert spreads at various weddings... and hands down, the absolute best ones were from M27 at their wedding! They were simply perfection...

You're totally right about the flavors. Plus, you shouldn't have to stand by the dessert table acting like some sort of frantic information desk explaining which slice belongs to which guest.

It looks like we share the same date, so maybe I can finally make a decision too. 😉

He’s involved in absolutely everything! 😉 Even if the presentation and flavor of the cake are secondary concerns... his primary focus is really on the quality of the lamb... whenever we make a selection, we weigh several different options against one another... however, the flavors are all so remarkably similar that we haven't actually had any real debates about them up to this point. 😉

George Lopez10 said:What on earth were your criteria for picking the cake's look?

The ingredients in these things are pretty much all the same 🙂

I’m looking at them and they all look gorgeous—it’s impossible to make a decision!

Also, does anyone happen to know the pricing at the Hershey's discount store for those fudge brownies, Griotte bites, and those little mini chocolate bars sold in bulk? Or even just a rough idea of how much cheaper they are...

Well, my approach is actually the exact opposite... I pick the flavor first and then tailor the design to match!
My absolute requirement was that it had to be a Ferrero flavored cake. Since that type of frosting is so creamy, there is simply no way I'd attempt a tiered cake where they stack on top of each other. It’s just not structurally sound. So, either I have to provide individual stands for every single tier, or the cake will be a single square layer...
Which means it might not look exactly how I envisioned it visually, but taste-wise, it will be perfection!
Also, I wanted every single serving to be the exact same flavor. There is nothing worse than looking around a party and seeing five people sitting near me eating a completely different kind of cake—especially if it happens to be the one I actually wanted! If everyone eats the same thing, there's no room for disappointment.

I’m talking about the kind of prank where the waiter carries out this dummy cake, trips, and sends it crashing to the floor... only for them to come back a few minutes later with the actual dessert, haha... I don't even know how else to put it 😁

I am right there with you! I’d love to pull a prank like that on my maid of honor! 😁

I honestly don't know what to say... my cake was just a letdown! I ordered a Black Forest cake, but it didn't live up to any of my expectations—which is frustrating, especially since I went in feeling so confident after reading all those glowing reviews on this forum!
But hey, it’s just one single dessert... maybe everything else they make is actually fantastic! What stung the most, though, was seeing other people chime in, saying it wasn't even close to a real Black Forest cake and complaining about how dry and subpar it was. I really don't want to leave a bad review; perhaps I just had a stroke of bad luck with that specific order, and maybe their other treats are absolutely stellar!

I actually ordered a custom cake from them for a baptismal celebration...and honestly, I wasn't exactly blown away! 🙄

Oh, don't even mention it! Honestly, I was just so thrilled when I finally tracked down Tenebris that I figured this was the perfect excuse to brag a little about how my own figurine collection is about to become absolutely top-tier! 😁

Thanks, Alex Moore85! You’ve been such a lifesaver... I actually have another girl asking for your contact info already, but I didn't want to go handing out details before getting the green light!
So, consider this my official public endorsement of Tenebris for custom figurine work! 😉

Gary Thompson said:My aunt is planning on handling the desserts for the wedding, but I’ve been wondering about those health inspections they run on caterers and photographers. I mean, I get the deal with photographers, but how on earth is my aunt supposed to provide a formal invoice or some kind of official certification regarding food safety?🤷
What is an inspector actually looking for when they show up at a wedding to check out the sweets??

It is quite apparent that this community is filled with an abundance of witty individuals! 🙄
I honestly have no idea where to start with this... your best bet would be to reach out to the local CDC office in your area and just ask them directly! As far as I know, they're the ones who hold all the answers. $50 It’s all about testing the cake! Now, listen... perhaps the smartest move would be to just bring in one single cake—one that’s absolutely loaded with cream, you know, packed with eggs—and then they can issue you a certification that you can actually use at any restaurant! 😉

Seeing young people like this on a cake is honestly such a 😍
I wonder if I can just pick these up somewhere, or if I should ask the baker to whip them up from marzipan or something similar alongside the actual cake? 😕🤷

I actually found a woman who makes these for her own side projects... she's based out in California... and I managed to talk her into making some bride and groom toppers for me too! I'll send you a private message with photos of her cakes!

The ladies were saying... if we’re going all out, we definitely need a richer cake at the bottom... probably something walnut-based... and you could top it off with some parfait and fresh fruit! If I remember correctly!

Does anyone have a lead on where I could order a cake like this in New York City? (By "like this," I mean one with those super cute, goofy decorations and colors.)

Anyone??

In my opinion, if you take a photo like this to any decent, modern bakery, they should be able to whip something similar right up for you! It isn't rocket science! It’s really just fondant or colored marzipan used in different shades! 😉

But if she’s actually planning on sharing, then one batch definitely isn't enough! It’s like trying to host a massive Thanksgiving feast with just a single side dish—you need way more than that if you want to serve everyone and still have plenty left over to pass around!

Well, I have to say, you didn't exactly help me there! 240 pounds??? For 220 guests??? That works out to barely one pound per person! Honestly, I don't think anyone is going to eat that much cake! For a crowd of 220, you’re looking at maybe 90 to 100 pounds total. Typically, we calculate based on about half a pound per person, so that's the standard rule of thumb. But 240 pounds is just way too much! 😉

This cake is absolutely divine!

What are your thoughts on something like this???

Oh boy... the display stand I’ve been eyeing—the one that has absolutely everything I want—is $1300... so for now, I’m just crossing my fingers that the bakery I'm ordering my cake from actually carries it! 😁
If they don't... well, I'll just have to get creative and DIY something myself...

I certainly am... I'm with JPMorgan Chase! Thank you!

I’ve finally made up my mind... the cake is going to be Ferrero! I had this exact flavor about two years ago and it was hands down the best thing I've ever tasted...
The catch, however, is that because the filling is so soft, you can't stack the layers into a tiered cake. That means I’m definitely going to need some proper cake stands to display them separately.
I’m looking for advice on where to buy, rent, or even custom-order some, and what kind of budget I should set aside for them!
There’s a chance I’ll be making it at a local bakery, but if they only offer those cheap plastic ones (which are honestly just eyesores), I really need a Plan B to find something more elegant!
Just to give you an idea... we're talking about a cake for 200 people $467. And let me tell you, when I had it there, everyone was blown away—even my mom, and she is a notoriously tough critic when it comes to bakery sweets!

Anyway...
I'm picturing something along the lines of these kinds of stands...

I honestly haven't the slightest clue! I told her plain and simple that I have a batch of brittle to whip up right here in New York City! But she just won't listen to reason! She’s insistent on sourcing it herself, just as you laid it out... I’m completely in the dark! And look, if the whole thing falls apart... we'll just break it into little pieces and share them anyway! 😁
