To be perfectly honest, I don't think she’s any less of a failure than the rest of them! But look, we’re facing the exact same scenario here, and we’re going to end up with one classic outcome and one crunchy one! 😁

Oh, I honestly haven't a clue... truth be told, this was her gift, and she was the one who insisted on it! So, frankly, it's not really my concern! However, I can certainly ask her where she sourced that brittle for her wedding and what the damage was! Do you have something specific in mind? I know most people tend to go with St. Joseph's for these things!

I honestly have no clue where you can find decent brittle here in New York City! I actually have a close friend who’s going to bring some straight from San Francisco just for us! 😁
I'm a local through and through here in NYC, but my fiancé has those West Coast roots, and since half of our wedding guests are coming from out that way, I thought this would be such a wonderful surprise! At least, that's the plan, anyway! A

Let’s be honest, we all know what goes into whipped cream...
buttercream is basically just powdered sugar and vegetable shortening... look, people can argue about taste all day long, but personally, I've always had a soft spot for whipped cream. Even if I have to admit that buttercream looks much more polished, I'll take the flavor of the cream any day! 😁
It's not about the outward appearance; it's about what you find on the inside! 😂

It’s honestly quite a dilemma for me... because if everything were strictly according to my vision, we’d have nothing but classic rock playing, the menu would be completely different... and a wedding like that might appeal to me and perhaps twenty other guests. But out of a crowd of 220? That just won't cut it!
I simply can't approach it that way; I'm the one footing the bill, so things are going to happen exactly how I want them to... and frankly, I don't mind at all. If I actually cared about pleasing everyone else, I wouldn't be planning a wedding in the first place.
Besides, I personally prefer extra frosting on the cake—it's not like I'm acting against my own nature! 😁

I completely agree with you... but you know how it goes when the whole family descends upon your house... they’re used to the classic whipped cream style, so this new approach...
I was at a christening a couple of weeks ago (and I was the proud godmother, 😁) and the menu was basically just beef broth and one creamy soup... I don't even have to tell you which one everyone gravitated toward!
With this crowd, presentation doesn't win them over. They stick to what they know and what feels familiar! Honestly, I’ve been obsessing over cake options lately, but changing the rest of the menu hasn't even crossed my mind because people are set in their ways. In both cases, it's probably smarter to just play it safe and stick to their traditions... besides, keeping the menu and desserts traditional will be much easier on my wallet than trying to get experimental with fancy ingredients and gourmet pastries! 😁

Look, the price tag isn't even my main concern here. I was more than willing to shell out extra if it meant getting that premium, high-quality density, but now I'm genuinely worried people are going to turn their noses up the moment they take a bite of the cake!
Maybe I just hang out with the wrong crowd... 🙄

If you top it with fresh flowers, you won't be charged nearly as much, and the whole thing will look just like those high-end cakes they make over in the States. Just a heads-up though: every flower needs its own little support stake. If you don't, the bottom layer turns into nothing but a sugary mess because anything touching the cream is going to wilt and ruin everything. I really wanted to try a bit of everything... *sniff*... but my mom—who, let's be honest, is quite the seasoned pro at this—convinced me of a few things 🙂

That fondant looks incredible... though if I'm being honest, my husband thinks it looks totally plastic and fake!
It's only because of that fondant that wedding cakes get pushed up to $133... truthfully, even though I used to insist that a cake absolutely had to have fondant, now I'm practically stuttering over the subject...
Sure, the cake looks stunning... but it tastes like nothing!
I'm just not a fan of fondant, and honestly, even a few couples... now that they've been married for a while... are regretting choosing fondant! Guests would actually dig tunnels through the cakes just to bypass the fondant and get to the actual cake inside... so all that beauty and decoration is completely wasted when people end up sour about the flavor!
