Alright, enough with the trolling. No, having an opinion doesn't automatically make it a right, and watching people double down on that logic is becoming honestly pathetic...

"If someone thinks Black people are scum that need to be sent back to Africa, that's their right." No, it really isn't (unless you just keep it to yourself).

My favorite part is when the trolling starts with this delusional idea that any brainless nonsense popping into someone's head counts as an "opinion" protected by "free speech." It doesn't, and it hasn't ever, anywhere on this planet...

Anyway, the OP already got their answer, and since the Democratic Party isn't exactly a forum for this kind of debate or for people trolling just because they're offended, I'm out. Peace. If the supermods feel like stepping in, whether it's for darkotter35 or me, they'll say so if they think something needs to be added.

Look, if we've agreed to be super picky about using slurs—just so I don't have to keep repeating myself from earlier posts—then fine, I can easily swap it out for "backwards, primitive Nazi."
But there’s honestly no point, since "fascist" is just the standard term used in these online circles... whereas "Nazi" is what you hear more often in the real world. In American English, this is just how things have settled...

I actually agree with you that labels get tossed around way too easily. But you're making a logical leap by assuming that because people overreach, it means they aren't always justified when they call someone out 😉 This specific situation is probably the perfect example of why. It’s basically the equivalent of someone saying "Black people are worthless and should all be kicked back to Africa" and then throwing a tantrum because someone called them a racist. Of course, I should mention that nobody personally attacked the OP, but we can't control which parts of a discussion people happen to see themselves in. Finding those lines is incredibly difficult in most cases, that much is true... but in this instance, there's really nothing to debate:

If someone were to discriminate against a minority group—specifically a physically disabled one—by blocking medical procedures that could help both their physical health and their peace of mind, especially when even the most backward places on the planet like Saudi Arabia perform those procedures regularly, then yeah, sorry, that person is a fascist. Or a Nazi. That’s pretty much a core part of their whole deal.

Sure, there’s another issue at play here. You can always argue that it wasn't actual fascism, but just pure ignorance or lack of education, and it's definitely wrong to label someone a fascist just because they're uninformed. However, the problem with this specific topic is that links were posted right around that time that allowed anyone to look up the facts and learn whatever they needed to know.

Jojček, you’ve really managed to dig yourself into a hole here 😁

Since when did it become your business if someone—whether they're a moderator or just another user—decides to comment on certain fascist views, especially when those views are so closely linked to the topic at hand? If you think it's off-topic, feel free to report it... but let me be crystal clear: neither I nor north wind have called you a fascist. You basically identified yourself through your own description, so that’s really on you. Did anyone actually address you personally? No. You claim you were talking about gender ideology, which means nobody even addressed you indirectly, 🙂 Di where exactly is the issue then? Is it just because someone accurately diagnosed the attitudes you usually keep tucked away at home? I'm not saying that's the case, but I don't see any other reason...

So, there you go, a perfectly clear explanation of why this qualifies as fascism, quite literally. We could get pedantic and call it "Nazism," and if you want to debate whether I should strictly use the term Nazi from now on, we can certainly have that chat... though there’s honestly no need, because as has been explained, "fascist" carries a derogatory weight that fully encompasses any kind of discrimination against those who are different. And those ideas regarding banning medical procedures, even the ones performed in Saudi Arabia, are undeniably discriminatory in nature.

And look, if you were under the impression that you can't call a Black hater a racist on this forum, then you've completely missed the mark.
History & Politics: Fascism in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’d actually suggest finding a more appropriate corner of this forum for that—maybe a PM or a different thread—since the Democratic Party section isn't really meant for these kinds of debates, just specific grievances and disciplinary stuff. Thanks in advance!

Just to satisfy your curiosity (and maybe give you a head start on your Google searches if you're that interested), the first gender reassignment surgery took place back in 1930 right in Germany, where specialists were actually the first in the world to tackle it... Three years later, the Nazis seized power and by November 1933, transvestites were being sent to camps, leading up to a 1938 decree to completely "eliminate the phenomenon of transvestism from public life." Their fascist colleagues in Italy, naturally, followed suit quite faithfully. The USA and everyone else couldn't perform those operations because progress in that medical field was effectively frozen until the fifties, when things finally started moving again in Denmark.
History & Politics: Fascism in Feedback & Suggestions ·
There’s actually a brilliant way to make sure nobody labels you a fascist—though, let’s be honest, nobody has actually called you one yet, you just seem to have identified yourself as such... which I'll get into in a second...

Do you want me to double down on my point here? People who would go so far as to ban gender-affirming medical procedures are fascists.
There it is.
If you find yourself fitting that description, well, that’s on you. That’s why your posts haven't drawn any fire; no one has come out and told you personally that you’re some backward, primitive fascist, you just volunteered for the role yourself—whether through your reports or this specific thread...
It’s like if someone said, "people who hate Black people and think they belong in Africa are racists"—if you feel targeted by that, you're really just tripping over your own feet.

And here is the clarification...

Defining fascism is honestly redundant because "fascist" is used so broadly as an insult these days. But it also holds up factually, since I haven't stumbled upon a more modern equivalent to fascists or Nazis. They were, after all, among the last groups to strictly prohibit gender reassignment surgeries. I couldn't even call, say, radical Islamist-Sharia groups that, because those procedures are performed quite regularly even in Saudi Arabia (where, for instance, homosexuality is a death sentence). Under Khomeini, Iran followed a path similar to Nazis and fascists, yet today they are actually among the world leaders in the number of gender reassignment operations performed... :/ Communists aren't much better either; in fact, the first successful operations were done in the Soviet Union. So, sorry, but damn, fascists remain the best comparison... 😢

As for you and those "permissions" you’re looking for, you already have them. Every time I or anyone else writes something that fits the literal or pejorative definition of "fascism," as in my example above, you are perfectly free to label such behavior (not just forum users) as such... It just doesn't include your little joke about having a "different opinion"... 🙂 You know, like when people are actually more liberal in Saudi Arabia than you are...

Best regards!

p.s. Oh, and next time you feel the urge to call someone unhinged, maybe wipe the foam off your own mouth first... 👍

So, am I shamelessly hiding behind "free speech" now? Look, I hate getting into fights—really, I do—but I’m sick of being backed into a corner on this forum and told I should be embarrassed just for having an opinion.

Look, bottom line—I’m never posting anything here that I wouldn't have the guts to say straight to someone's face.

Am I making sense?

So how do you even make sense of this sudden explosion of violence in the US—like, fifty years after World War II? Especially in a society that never actually "let things go" when it comes to those leftover, radical counter-revolution vibes...

There isn't really a third option—you know, those moderate folks who actually have the sense to find a balance where nobody feels left behind or insulted.

I don't quite follow what you meant about having an influence on our lives and mechanisms reducing frustration? Could you be a bit more specific there?

It's been a long time since WWII, which was the big wake-up call that forced fascists, religious zealots, and hard-right types to settle down, seeing as their history is soaked in blood.
But, man, time flies. People tend to forget, or maybe they just got a little too comfortable with the freedom that came after all that chaos. Now, because we’ve moved past that bloody, tyrannical era, these religious and right-wing populists are back at it, hiding behind "free speech." They act like total victims, playing the martyr because they claim "militant gays and feminists" are stopping them from expressing their hate—or, as they love to put it, "stifling their liberty."

There isn't some massive explosion of violence happening; there’s just an explosion of media coverage where every single incident gets dragged out until people walk away with this false impression that things are more dangerous now than they ever were...

Hardly any country on earth today isn't dealing with levels of violence and homicide that are essentially the same as they were twenty or thirty years ago.

Terrorism is the outlier, though even that was rampant back in the seventies and eighties before things briefly quieted down...
Sure, but you’re clearly the rational one here... Thousands of people will just swallow it whole without a second thought, living their entire lives convinced it’s nothing more than another massive Jew lie. That's the real issue...
Morgan Cook10 said:I'll give you an example of just how much damage political correctness can actually do.

Lately, I’ve been falling down some internet rabbit holes, watching debates between creationists and evolutionists—specifically those Young Earth theorists who swear this whole planet is only about 6,000 years old. Honestly, I was just curious to see how they actually frame their narrative. Even though I’m firmly on the side of evolution—which, let's be real, feels like common sense at this point—I was pretty caught off guard by how easily these creationists can dismantle anyone who steps into the ring with them. It’s wild; they even managed to flip a few arguments that I personally used to swear by.
Honestly, after sitting with it for a while and actually digging into the details, things eventually start to click. You finally reach a point where the pieces fall into place. But at the same time, you realize just how close to the edge everything really was. It’s a bit of a reality check—realizing how little you actually knew about the whole situation and how many fairy tales you were buying into without even realizing it.

Basically... political correctness is just turning people into mindless drones. It strips away anyone's ability to actually think for themselves, leaving them with nothing but a handful of canned slogans that, half the time, aren't even true.

By the way, that bolded part is a complete reversal of reality. It’s actually the PC crowd that’s waging war on free speech. They’re the ones pushing for censorship and looking for any excuse to punish or silence anyone who doesn't parrot their specific brand of dogma. Honestly, like I mentioned earlier, it’s just a modern version of the same darkness humanity has been struggling with since the dawn of civilization.

Well, that is precisely where the trouble starts... 🙂

It is incredibly easy to frame something in a way that convinces the masses that a lie is actually the truth, and that’s where the danger lies...

If you want to take it a step further, there's an ever-growing crowd of lunatics convinced the Earth is flat. There are endless YouTube videos and forum threads where proponents toss out "arguments" that anyone without a specialized education would swallow whole, which is unfortunately how most people operate. Between the vaccine hysteria, the flat Earth stuff, and the idea that the world is only a few thousand years old...

Now, I’m not saying we should literally ban someone from claiming the Earth is flat, but I am pointing out that the truth doesn't always surface... Look at the anti-vax movement—based on a single unscientific study that the author himself retracted decades ago, you now have entire movements of people convinced vaccines are killing their children, and we're already seeing the slow return of diseases we thought were practically wiped out...

I'm not suggesting we should outlaw people calling vaccines murder—even if spreading those lies isn't exactly harmless—but in that same vein, someone could just as easily convince thousands upon thousands of people that the Jew is filth that needs to be eradicated before they eradicate us...

I don't really know what you're getting at there! Just a string of letters? It's like when I was driving through Chicago last summer and saw those weirdly formatted license plates—you just stare at them for a second, wondering if you're reading it right, before moving on with your day. Anyway, hope you're having a good one! silentviper19 says:
And that’s exactly why I think it’s so dangerous to just breeze through and say, "Oh, everyone deserves total freedom of speech." Honestly? No, they don't. We live in this weird, fast-moving world now, and let's be real—humans aren't exactly the most rational creatures on the planet. I mean, look at us! We aren't some perfectly logical species where everyone sits down, weighs the evidence, debates the facts, and then naturally filters out the garbage ideas. It doesn't work like that. People get emotional, they get carried away, and bad ideas just spread like wildfire before anyone can even blink.

Look, there’s just no way around it. You can't let someone get away with calling for the extermination of Jews or acting like the Holocaust never even happened. It's one of those lines you just don't cross. I was thinking about this the other day while I was grabbing coffee down in San Francisco, and it really hit me—some things are non-negotiable. You have to stand firm on that.

Now, look, saying PC has gone way too far? Yeah, that’s a whole different conversation. And honestly? It totally has. Finding that exact line in the sand is such a nightmare because it’s always shifting. But just because things have gotten extreme doesn't mean we should just roll over and give a free pass to every single idiotic, hateful idea out there. You can't just let anything go under the guise of "freedom" when it's clearly just pure spite.
The way time moves now, combined with all this new tech we use just to stay "informed," has honestly driven everyone completely insane. It’s like, everything happens at once, right? You wake up, check your phone, and suddenly you're drowning in news from three different continents before you've even finished your first cup of coffee. I was sitting on my porch the other day—just trying to enjoy the quiet, you know?—and I realized how much the pace has shifted. It used to be you waited for the morning paper or the evening news, a little ritual. Now? It’s constant. Constant noise. It feels like we're all running a marathon that never actually ends, just chasing the next notification. Total madness, if you ask me.

There’s this massive blind spot with political correctness that I can’t stop thinking about. People cling to it so hard, but they’re totally missing the mark. They practice this weird kind of selective criticism when it comes to totalitarian ideologies, picking and choosing what to call out and what to ignore. To me, that feels like the root of the whole problem. It’s exactly why you see so much radicalization happening within Muslim communities today, and honestly, it’s why there’s such a growing wave of people who have developed this deep-seated resentment toward them. It all stems from that inconsistency.

You know, I was thinking about this earlier while grabbing coffee, and it really hits me how much things could have changed if the left-leaning crowd had actually allowed any real criticism of Islam in public discourse back in the day—maybe fifteen or twenty years ago? If they hadn't been so hesitant, we wouldn't be dealing with half the headaches we see today. But instead, the whole Western liberal establishment stayed laser-focused on fighting what they called "local" fascists. It’s like their logic just spiraled out of control. They fell into this trap where they think that anything an "American" fascist hates must be protected by default, no questions asked. It’s a bit of a circular loop, isn't it? Anyway, just some food for thought while I watch the traffic crawl by here in San Francisco.

And honestly, the second people started jumping to the defense of Islam against any actual criticism of their doctrine, it was like a lightbulb went off for the right-wing crowd. It was the perfect setup, you know? Suddenly, they had this massive opening to paint all the liberals as hypocrites and traitors—which, if we’re being real, they basically turned out to be anyway. I mean, it's wild how they'll fight tooth and nail for free speech one minute, then turn around and demand protection for religious dogma the next just to avoid a little scrutiny. It’s such a weird contradiction. And while everyone was busy arguing about who’s more fake, that Islamic radicalism just kept gaining momentum, fueled by this whole "protect us from critics" narrative...You know, whenever those ultra-liberal types—you know the ones, all those atheists and whatever else—start screaming about how criticizing Islam is somehow "racist" or "fascist," it just proves my point. It’s like a giant red flag waving in the air! To me, that kind of reaction basically confirms we're on the right track. It feels like they're just trying to shut down the conversation because they don't have a real answer. If they're getting that defensive, it tells me there really isn't a viable alternative out there, which honestly makes me feel like we have to stand our ground and fight for what we believe in by any means necessary. It's funny how that works, isn't it? Just an observation from my morning coffee.".

Here’s an example from back home:

I was just sitting here, sipping on some lukewarm coffee—honestly, I think the machine at my office in Chicago is finally giving up the ghost—and I stumbled upon this video. You know those moments where you’re just scrolling through, minding your own business, and suddenly something hits you? That’s what happened here. It’s one of those things that makes you stop and really think about how much stuff we take for granted. It gets me thinking about that trip I took to Miami a few years back, too. Remember how everything felt so different there? Just a completely different pace of life. Anyway, I digress! The point is, watching this... it’s heavy, but in a way that feels necessary. It’s like when you’re driving down a long stretch of highway in the Midwest, just you and the road, and you start contemplating the big picture. It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind, worrying about whether you turned off the stove or if you replied to that email from the boss, but then you see something like this and realize there’s so much more going on beneath the surface. I actually mentioned something similar to silentviper19 the other day while we were grabbing lunch. We were talking about how fast everything changes, how quickly the world shifts under your feet. It’s a bit overwhelming if you let it be, but I try to stay positive. Life is too short to spend it being gloomy, right? Even when the topics are serious, there’s always something to learn, something to gain from the perspective. Anyway, give it a watch if you have a spare ten minutes. It might change your afternoon just a little bit. Like it did for me. Or maybe it won't! But hey, worth a shot.

This writer is such a huge leftist and a total liberal at heart. Honestly, he was spot on when he called out Mexican nationalism and the church, too—they’ve caused so much damage around here over the years.
And here he goes again! Honestly, I was just reading his latest rant, and man, he’s really doubling down on this stuff. He’s spent half his life writing these long-winded defenses, trying to justify why high school girls in Miami are being "led astray" by their teachers and the school system. It’s wild. I remember back when I lived in a similar situation in Chicago, seeing people try to spin things that were clearly wrong just to save face, and it’s the exact same vibe here. Just constant excuses.

You know, I was thinking about this the other day while grabbing coffee... if some leftist from the Midwest or maybe even down in Cali said they actually wanted to spend their whole lives surrounded by Orthodox or Catholic traditions because it’s such a huge part of who they are, the liberal crowd would absolutely lose it. They'd be all over them, calling them names like fascist or just straight-up labeling them a hillbilly. It's funny how that works, right? People get so worked up when you try to claim a bit of heritage.
It’s funny when you think about it, really... you see it all the time lately. It kind of feels like for certain liberals and leftist types, Islam has become this sort of... I don't know, a specific kind of fetish? It’s like they’ve developed this weird obsession with it. I was chatting with a buddy of mine over coffee the other day—we were talking about how people just latch onto certain causes these days—and it hit me. They just seem to fixate on it in such an intense way. Just a strange, singular fascination.

So, I was thinking back to when this whole migrant debate first started blowing up. You know, how everyone was suddenly talking about the mindset of Muslims living over in Europe? It reminded me of this one study—or maybe it was just a conversation I overheard at a diner in Chicago—where they brought up some pretty wild statistics. Apparently, like 99% of them said there’s absolutely no way they’d ever marry off their sister or daughter to someone who isn't Muslim. It’s just one of those things that makes you stop and think about how deep these cultural divides really go, right? Just something that’s been rattling around in my head lately.
And our local liberals and leftists? They’ve just rolled over and accepted it as totally normal. I mean, they honestly think it’s just their "right" to do what they want, and that we all just have to sit here and respect it. It's funny, really. Reminds me of this one time back in Chicago when... well, anyway, it's just how they operate.
But hey, let’s just take a quick trip down memory lane for a second. Remember that total clown of a mayor we had back in San Francisco, that Trump guy? He once went on this huge rant saying he’d never, ever let his daughter marry a Mexican. And man, the reaction was instant. Every single one of those local liberals jumped all over him, absolutely tearing him apart and calling him a fascist left and right. It was wild.

Yeah, except that first figure isn't even remotely accurate—the percentage might be high, but I can't recall the exact study right now, though it definitely wasn't 99%—so I countered with a study from America where the percentages were almost identical for people refusing to let their daughters marry a Mexican, a Muslim, or a Black man, and so on...

But given the context you're pointing out regarding how "liberals" react differently to each situation, you aren't wrong...

Collins — I agree looking at the global scale, but honestly, it makes sense that we worry about our own backyard first... Of course, as a citizen of the world, I'm not totally indifferent to what's happening in Saudi Arabia or North Korea, but I'm just significantly more concerned about the society I actually live in...
And that’s exactly why pretending that "freedom of speech should be absolute" is such a dangerous simplification... It just isn't true. Humans aren't some rational collective where everyone calmly weighs evidence and filters out the nonsense through pure logic...

You can't just give someone a platform to call for the extermination of the Jew or peddle Holocaust denialism...

Now, whether political correctness has spiraled out of control is a whole different conversation. And yeah, it definitely has... finding that line is a nightmare. But even so, that doesn't mean we have to hand over a microphone to every idiot with a hateful agenda...
I'm with you on that, which is why I added that second part to my comment.

But honestly, letting absolutely everything go unchecked isn't exactly a genius move either...

Then again, finding that sweet spot where you draw the line is always the hardest part.
And even that’s being generous with the simplification. In this day and age, the civilized world needs to shut down a new Hitler before he even gets off the ground, using every tool in the shed... because the reality is that which idea wins out isn't just about letting everyone "speak their truth" and hoping for the best. It's much more complicated than that.

Exactly, and finding where to draw that line is a massive headache. There's no denying that political correctness has absolutely overstepped...
silentviper19 said:Look, I truly believe that race, gender, and nationality shouldn't be targeted as such. To me, respecting those identities is basically civilization's number one rule.

But man, this whole PC movement when it comes to religion? It’s driving me absolutely up the wall. People pushing this stuff don't seem to grasp the fallout—and I’m not talking about your typical old-school believers here. Anyone with half a brain can see that using religion as a shield is just a massive setup for hatred and discrimination. It all stems from that sense of "spiritual victimhood" and playing the martyr, which is pretty much the foundation of every fascist movement we've ever seen.

I mean, seriously, how is it even possible in this crazy 21st century that someone thinks criticizing a religion is the same thing as hating the people who follow it?! Honestly, you can only get that far if your brain has been completely fried by political correctness to the point where you can't even see how extreme you've become.

It really depends on where the criticism is headed. Personally, I find it hard to wrap my head around the fact that in the 21st century, there are still people out there buying into the fairy tales and myths of any religion whatsoever. It might have something to do with that innate human urge to rationalize things we can't grasp—that need to believe in some higher power—but seeing someone claim to "believe in a religion" today is just baffling...

But then again, what's the actual problem? If someone wants to believe, let them. Who cares?

The real issue lies in the tangible problems caused by specific individuals whose actions are driven by their faith.

Frank Morgan2 said:You actually reminded me of that old story where blind people try to describe an elephant.
The guy holding the leg said:
- An elephant is like a tree.
- No, an elephant is like a wall—said the guy leaning against its belly.
- An elephant is most like a rope—said the one holding onto the tail.
- I'd say it looks more like a giant snake—said the one holding the trunk.
- Actually, an elephant is most like a leaf—said the one holding the ear.
- To me, an elephant feels like a spear—said the one holding the tusk.

Everyone told PART of the truth, but nobody saw the WHOLE thing.

Regarding political correctness, the issue isn't someone stating a partial truth because they don't see the big picture; it's when someone has the "sick ambition" to present a PART as the WHOLE.

Truth is always ABSOLUTE; we just aren't always capable of perceiving all of it, so we call it RELATIVE.
I suppose one "thinking tool" should be the rule: "AS FAR AS I KNOW."

Cheers,
Frank Morgan2

I agree, though usually, we end up dealing with the aftermath of those other types... the ones acting as spokespeople for that selective "truth" that happens to suit them perfectly.
Oh sure, those are some top-tier idiocies, I wouldn't have even dreamed of stepping foot in that water if I could help it...😁
It’s tricky—though we definitely need some boundaries here—because the hard truth is exactly what silentviper19 pointed out... everyone wants "political correctness" to apply only when it benefits their own side.

It’s the same person who acts shocked and outraged that in civilized, developed nations, news outlets don't feel the need to broadcast the perpetrator's nationality or religion (and I'm not talking about terrorism where faith or origin is the literal motive)... they'd lose their minds if a reporter actually identified a killer as a veteran or, more specifically, a former gang member.

So, the underlying issue with this whole saga is that the "fight for truth" is usually just a "fight for my rules"... which would look identical if the roles were reversed and someone else was being protected while others were being exposed.

Personally, I have no problem with political correctness if its purpose is to stop people from fueling unnecessary hatred or fear by dragging in irrelevant details. If someone kills their wife in the apartment next door, I truly couldn't care less if they are a Mexican, a Muslim, Black, a veteran, or a MAGA supporter... mentioning those things isn't just useless, it's just fuel for animosity.
Truth is singular, yet it’s a far more complicated concept than people usually care to admit... which means its interpretations vary wildly, and—as absurd as it sounds—even fundamentally accurate takes on the truth can be incredibly dangerous or even malicious.

The following example isn't meant to spark a debate, but rather serves as a perfect illustration of my point:

1. Is Islamic terrorism a threat to Europe? Yes.
2. Is letting hundreds of thousands of people cross borders without any control irrational? Yes.
3. Does 99% of the Muslim population in Europe live completely peaceful lives without any terrorist inclinations? Yes.

So, what do you get when you mix these truths together? You end up with one group who, because the vast majority of Muslims live peacefully and respect their host countries, chooses to ignore the genuine danger posed by uncontrolled immigration. Then you have the other side, who uses those very real dangers to deliberately fuel hatred toward the entire Muslim population...

Truth isn't some flat, simple sentence that stands alone. You could claim "Muslims are a threat to Europe today," and no one could call you a liar... but you'd be presenting an incomplete truth that carries a massive amount of unintended implications.

It works that way in just about every field. It makes the whole conversation much more nuanced than the simplistic "just tell the truth" mantra, mostly because grasping the absolute, total truth is nearly impossible in most cases...

That said, I absolutely agree that "political correctness" has gone way too far and turned into a complete joke.

On Politics and Health. You always seem to land on Religion... 🙂

If you're looking for more on that, just check out the other threads over on the PŽK forum, because this particular discussion is about something else entirely...

There’s a massive difference between actually discussing a topic and turning a thread about the show "Fifth Day" into some endless debate about feminism or misandry... Those kinds of threads get hit with a lockdown policy on the forum, by unanimous decision from every single moderator and supermoderator, and honestly, there's a pretty damn good reason for that.

The issue is that both the veterans and the newbies are circling back to debating the topic itself rather than the show... and since this specific topic has been shut down on the forum a few times before by a handful of regulars, a massive thread deletion would have been totally justified, but for now, we're just locking it.

It’ll be unlocked eventually, but moving forward—keep the conversation focused on the show and how the guests performed. We have dedicated TV subforums for that kind of thing. I don't want the next episode to be about abortion and then see ten pages of people arguing about the ethics of abortion... if you want to talk abortion, go to Politics, or hit the Religion board for the spiritual side, or Health for the medical angle. On the "fifth day" thread, we care about what Laura Chavez93 (or anyone else, really) thought about the production, who outsmarted whom, and the general vibe of the participants... not what Laura Chavez93 thinks about abortion specifically.

Sure, someone might let a personal opinion slip occasionally, and that's fine as long as it's brief and the conversation stays on track regarding the program... but this is the second time lately that the thread has devolved into these endless debates over the subject matter instead of the show itself.
