It’s probably for the best that you cleared that up yourself. You didn't get banned, but the mods scrubbed the post because a few people were trying to derail the whole conversation with nonsense like, "Well, if Czechs can understand each other's beer orders, then we should be able to understand Czech too"—which is a pretty ridiculous comparison to how Americans and Mexicans can actually follow one another...

That doesn't mean they're the same language, but anyone trying to deny that mutual understanding exists—or comparing it to Czech—is clearly just trolling.

So you’ve got some kind of secret superpower that the rest of us don't have, allowing you to see exactly which moderator nuked your posts?

The last two posts of yours on that thread that got wiped were handled by two different moderators... then a third one handed you a strike on your third post. Before all that, I actually deleted one myself, which means four separate moderators have had to deal with four of your posts. Since you seem so convinced you've already figured out the "truth" behind why everything is being removed... I'll just leave you to your own conclusions regarding why your posts disappear. Or at least mine. Though, looking at the facts, it's pretty obvious where the issue lies...

Don't mention it.

Patrick Gray45 said:Just to be clear, the video isn't just pointing at a few isolated incidents, it’s looking at the entire population of the Netherlands... and those figures didn't come from some random thread on Stormfront, they were pulled directly from the official Dutch statistics bureau...

This is my final word on this topic, because honestly, there’s just no point in wasting my breath repeating the same arguments to the same handful of people who can't stop obsessing over immigration...

If you happen to stumble upon any data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics or have a decent reason to drop it here, feel free... You could always just Google some American news outlets and track down a solid link yourself...

The self-proclaimed truth seekers, those amateur vloggers, the cultists, and the haters... they just aren't worth my time...

This whole situation is starting to feel just like that vaccine hysteria sparked by Wakefield, which ended up getting the entire topic banned on major news sites because they couldn't stop the anti-vax fanatics from running wild...

Your "incredible" insights—though, let's be honest, there are only a handful of you constantly obsessing over this same thing anyway—have been thoroughly picked apart on several occasions, and even though a few threads were specifically shut down for a couple of days just so you could witness that deconstruction, it clearly wasn't enough to sink in...

The arguments are starting to sound exactly like those anti-vax fanatics, which just makes having any kind of normal conversation on the subject impossible...

If you really want to, feel free to ask the mods over at Edge of Science if they’re open to a thread about immigration... one where you can go wild sharing all those vloggers and fringe websites that claim to uncover the "hidden truths" about vaccines, lizard people, and those supposedly evil immigrants out to get us all while nobody's looking...

There are plenty of reasons why your favorite "geniuses" are stuck filming thirty-minute YouTube videos in their bedrooms instead of pulling massive paychecks from a major network like CNN or Fox News, and unfortunately for you, it’s probably not some grand conspiracy or censorship plot...

You can actually talk about immigration here without being censored, provided you use legitimate links and stick to reality regarding all the issues mass immigration brings to this country... which are plenty...

Listen up, this is important... Regarding the thread title... we've already been through this more times than the moderators care to count, so there's really no point in dragging it out again. On a forum this size, where thousands of posts fly by every single day, it’s neither required nor even practical for us to sit around explaining why every single comment gets pulled... besides, we don't exactly have nothing better to do with our time. If your post gets removed, it just means the mods decided it didn't belong in that specific conversation, and frankly, you shouldn't be questioning every little move, especially when the reason behind it is pretty much always the same...
Look, if you disagree, that’s fine—you’re entitled to your own opinion, truly... but having a different take isn't exactly going to rewrite the rulebook.

Maybe we've got it all wrong... maybe time will eventually prove that vaccines are actually lethal or just tools for microchipping and control by the New World Order, maybe Nibiru will emerge from behind the Moon tomorrow, maybe Merkelica will forget to maintain her human form before her next press conference, or maybe in a place like Chicago there won't be any police left because the white population stays indoors to avoid being murdered or assaulted daily by radicalized mobs...

Look, most of us here tend to stick to the official narrative—especially since a quick Google search is usually enough to tear apart almost any "groundbreaking" theory you throw our way... so you’re probably just going to have to get used to that reality...

Sure, people can talk about immigration issues and the spike in crime that comes along with it, as long as they manage to do so without sounding like a total racist or leaning into that ridiculous, over-the-top hysteria fueled by either pure ignorance or much more sinister motives...

My bad, I just copy-pasted and it wouldn't take the whole thing—here they are in this post:

David Richardson67 said:This is just crude labeling and an insult to an entire nation, all because of the political choices made by a specific group. Of course, insulting those people shouldn't be allowed either, since they have the right to their political choices, whether those choices are logical, insane, masochistic, or just plain distasteful to the rest of us.

But the fundamental misunderstanding here is our stance, which the links above confirm: we're talking about what's basically figurative speech that probably half of all Americans have used at least once in their lives...

Personally, I’d find it much worse if someone were targeting voters of just one single party or option, rather than this. It’s more like, we’re talking about ourselves, we're frustrated about something, so we just lash out... As you can see, everyone from the left to the right to the centrists and everyone in between has used it on the forum.

I won't waste any more energy trying to explain things to you 👍

I’d highly suggest you spend more time over on that Science Fringe forum, the crowd there is much more your speed 🙂

@rowdylynx98/">@@rowdylynx98 - Look, if you’re actually looking for an open discussion, maybe stop twisting my words... He didn't say anything about a "vulnerable national minority in Vojvodina," he was talking about the people living in America. We've made it clear multiple times that context is everything. I’ve even dropped a few links to similar or nearly identical posts by other users who haven't been banned, which suggests the moderators aren't enforcing rules that they let everyone else slide on. Among those users, you'll find plenty of conservatives too (if anyone wants to imply this is some sort of attack on "American values"). It’s clearly just a figure of speech, the kind of thing you hear in everyday American life all the time...

It's the same logic: if you randomly post "Mexicans are idiots" just to stir the pot, you'll probably get a strike. But if you're actually engaging in a debate about the political climate in Mexico—who people vote for, who they pick, and how they generally deal with their leaders—you likely won't be touched...

I'm heading over to Walmart to help out Todorić get back on his feet, take care 🙂

Can I just say that the moderators on this forum are a bunch of idiots?

So, I guess I can share my opinion that the moderators are idiots. Or maybe the users are the idiots, since I'm a user myself, which makes it a valid point (that's the logic of a user, according to Daniel Ward87)...

The users and the Mexicans are all idiots.

Actually, you can't, because the owner—or rather, those authorized by him, the admins—decided that on his private forum, you aren't allowed to insult the users...🙂

(And please, don't start trolling by claiming there are definitely Americans among the users...)😁

Censorship, North Korea, this idea of "freedom of speech" that doesn't actually exist in the way some people imagine it does...
I mean, you're using an anonymous handle on some private forum where you aren't even paying to post -.-
It doesn't mean a person can't feel insulted or think they've been treated unfairly, but people really do take things to the extreme...

Sure, it exists, but only in that specific context I was talking about—the totally nonsensical "but why can't Peter say this in Congress" argument. This political forum has its own set of rules. We aren't handing out fines or prison sentences here; we're just giving anonymous internet handles a virtual yellow card. It's hardly a massive violation of "freedom of speech"...
Is that fellow forum user you mentioned being targeted in real life now? Is he being treated differently? Is his job getting weird? Does he need to take out a loan to pay off a fine? No. His anonymous online handle just got a virtual warning on the internet. Talk about suppressing human rights... you could literally open a blog right this second and post 160 times about how "abortion is murder"...

slycobra5 said:One of the moderators, while addressing a ban over a specific word choice, basically admitted this is a private club, and if the boss decides the word PASTETAS (his words) is off-limits, then it’s officially banned....

The rest of your post implies you get the gist, though I suppose for the sake of any casual lurkers, it doesn't hurt to point out that this is just caricature. Saying "Well, how could Peter have said this or that in Congress" isn't actually an argument against getting banned.

rowdylynx98 said:Exactly. I’m all for banning anyone who directs insults at any group—whether it's based on nationality, race, gender, sexual orientation, class, or ideology—simply because at least one moderator, Daniel Ward87, has set a totally unchecked precedent.

First off, whether you're playing dumb or genuinely struggling to wrap your head around it, the first part of that sentence has absolutely nothing to do with what we were trying to explain here. If you really don't get it and actually want to, maybe try re-reading the explanations from the moderators and super-mods...

No, you can't go around saying things like "Mexicans are Chetniks," "Americans are fascists," or "Immigrants are terrorists."

Sure, depending on the context (assuming you're talking about the same stuff Ward87 was, regarding who people vote for or how they behave within a debate), you might say "Mexicans/Americans/Germans are a backwards people"...

Secondly, Ward87 hasn't set any kind of precedent whatsoever:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

There’s everyone in there—conservatives, liberals, even the radicals. Comments about Americans, about Europe, and various other small American subgroups....

There are plenty more, but this is a decent cross-section for you...

So, is the issue that by pure coincidence nobody in this specific thread happened to see these posts, or is the issue that they were written by regular users, so it didn't bother you nearly as much as when you heard it from a super-mod?

John Perez85 said:I honestly don't get this sudden downward spiral. Just two years ago, you were the one championing free speech when I was asking why pro-life discourse was being censored. Now you're a moderator and suddenly everything changed... 🤷
I’ll still end up getting an appeal of a red card if I call abortion murder, yet your fellow mods will happily sit by while Catholics and Catholic groups get insulted.

We don't tolerate insults against Catholics. As for Catholic organizations—that depends entirely on their behavior. Even the Pope seems to be handing out metaphorical "red cards" to certain factions of the Church more often these days...

Regarding abortion, pro-life discourse is perfectly fine and we discuss it, but calling abortion murder is strictly prohibited here in the Politics section. I'm not sure how things work over in the Religion section; personally, I’d allow it there, but I don't run the show or moderate that board, so I can't say for sure how they handle things...

Kevin Wood15 said:The logic here leads me to one conclusion;
I’m not allowed to label every Orthodox person a Chetnik, but I can get away with labeling an American leader like him?
Because if you plug that into the equation, what you're saying is we shouldn't call Catholics or Orthodox people unknown or Chetniks, yet based on some subjective opinion, we're totally fine calling certain representatives of theirs that...

Your formula works great, but your example doesn't. Unless, of course, you can actually find a single instance where he’s advocating for something like the "Republic of Mexican Krajina," trying to redraw American borders, or praising extremist movements...

Since your example is supposedly concrete, even though it's obvious you won't find anything remotely close to that—if you actually tried to make that claim, you'd probably rack up a few hundred points for hate speech depending on how intense you were being.

Like my colleague Sarah Doyle54 said, feel free to call Vučić a Chetnik all you want...

By the way, just a fair warning that you might catch a red card here on the forum, considering your other post is definitely leaning toward trolling...

John Perez85 said:Is it okay to use slurs against certain social groups as long as we aren't targeting a specific user here? Like, can Catholics be called unknown, or gay people get hit with certain epithets, or immigrants called filth, just so I can give you some examples...

Do you actually have a link to a post where someone calls Catholics that specific slur and somehow managed to get reported without being punished?

Because honestly, your question doesn't even make sense unless that's the case...

I've seen plenty of posts calling certain Catholic organizations or groups that unknown label, but that’s a completely different story, much like saying someone who calls an unknown far-right group neo-Nazi clowns is insulting Americans...

Anyway, the answer to your questions is no, you can't call Catholics that name, nor any other group using those terms, though there is a distinction I mentioned earlier...

It's not like we have a rulebook where everyone follows their own gut feeling while sticking to the site rules, but I can tell you that personally, I'll definitely penalize a post that targets all Catholics with that slur, whereas I won't touch a post that just mocks an individual like Markić...

Paul Kern12 said:I think your reasoning is a bit off, and honestly, for at least two reasons:
1. How can any of us be certain you’re actually an American living here and paying taxes in the States? You could just as easily be a Canadian, a Mexican, a Canadian... who’s just calling Americans (collectively) idiots because they’re a bigot.

2. Let’s say Mladen Shwarcz decides to jump in here and start claiming Jews are collectively idiots. Does he get a free pass for saying that just because he’s a Jew himself?
-------------------------

Sure, there’s a high chance you’re being sincere, and I follow your logic. That much is true,
But I still feel like we have to be careful with posts like this, because you might be setting a precedent that actual haters or bigots can latch onto—rightly so—by saying, "If he can get away with it, why can't I?"

Without getting into the rest or trying to play lawyer for Daniel Ward87, I’ll just touch on those two points since I'm already here, though I think you're heading in the wrong direction...

1. The admins, and even regular moderators, can easily see if Daniel Ward87 "lives and pays taxes in America." 😉 And whether he's technically an American is almost secondary, as long as he's living and paying taxes here.

2. Besides, Schwarz is a radical right-winger who "lives and pays taxes in America" (not, say, Israel), where the Jewish population was basically wiped out seventy years ago, so the connection isn't really the same.

Personally, I wouldn't hand out a ban for this post even if it were from some random user—it all depends on the context. In these online spaces, it can practically be a "figure of speech." In fact, you can find similar statements made by Mexicans about Mexico on threads regarding Mexico. We don't ban them for that.

I probably wouldn't ban someone either if an American wrote "Mexicans are a retarded nation" in the exact same context and style. It all comes down to context. If it's about political choices or general apathy, let them write. But if someone starts saying Americans are criminals, butchers, or that they love Adolf Hitler, blah blah... personally, I wouldn't just give them a warning; I'd give an American a lifetime ban, and "guests" would get a permanent one.

Harold Long21 said:Fact number one—the moderator lonebadger6 was actually online an hour after the report was filed, since I posted on that same thread myself and got zero reaction, which means they definitely saw the problematic post
fact number two—lonebadger6 is usually pretty quick on the draw when it comes to moderating (speaking from experience 😁 )
fact number three—the ban wasn't even handed out by lonebadger6, it was the moderator Ball who pulled the trigger after a few hours

I realize lying and trolling are basically your entire personality on this forum, but you really should try to be a little more subtle about it... 🙂

See, regardless of your theories on who should have seen what—or your insistence that someone did—those claims are pretty baseless on their own, especially considering you and your buddy love to nitpick the moderation (quite trollishly, I might add) without ever catching a single yellow card yourselves. Just think about the posts you both dropped before my mentioned post versus the ones you left after the one you're complaining about...

It's honestly shocking...

So, you've got two ways to look at this— either I missed those posts entirely, or I just decided not to hand out deserved penalties to one liberal and two conservatives .

Whichever way you slice it, your "logic" is still just nonsense...

Harold Long21 said:I never once claimed that all Mexicans were attacking America or that they were to blame for the war, so that's just a baseless conclusion you've drawn based on my question about whether it’s considered a provocation for someone to parade around with a certain flag and a specific sign in a country already torn apart by political extremists...

I put "the Mexican guy" in quotation marks specifically so people like you wouldn't jump to any logical conclusions and assume I actually meant that NN kid was involved in the aggression...

You can spin this until you're blue in the face, but it won't change the fact that you refuse—without getting banned—to acknowledge how problematic it is when someone openly brags about dating a Mexican. If she had written "Long live Mexico," then fine, we could talk, but the fact that you take issue with someone simply saying they love their Mexican boyfriend... well, that’s really just a "you" problem...

You can troll until you pass out when it comes to Silver Bear's ban... It isn't your job to play judge and jury over which moderator hands out what penalty, or to try and guess exactly what someone saw or when they saw it—or whether they had the chance to issue a ban at that specific moment. If you weren't such a professional troll, you'd realize that I didn't even flag your post, which was a textbook rule violation, but I suppose things get messy when trolling is your only real goal... 🙂

So, you've gone ahead and played the troll again, acting like a hero while pointing out everyone else's fouls—including your own... This time, despite all the warnings that messing with the mods would lead to escalating penalties, you're walking away with just 30 points and a one-day custom ban. You got lucky this time, which should be just enough to stop you from whining about "retaliation," because next time, you'll be looking at at least seven days... Since for you this isn't some accidental slip-up, but rather a blatant, intentional habit...

Anyway, just to follow up on what Daniel Ward87 was saying, that’s exactly where the distinction lies, whether you realize it or not. We tolerate comments from our own people. If Daniel Ward87 were just some random guy on the board posting all this crap, I wouldn't have handed him a ban in a heartbeat... because he's from America (and honestly, whether he's an American or a Canadian doesn't even matter to me at this point).

Then again, I have personally banned a few users from Mexico who were being blatantly disrespectful toward America and Americans. Or rather, Permao didn't ban them—he did it instantly. They're just unnecessary. People from America have every right to think we're a nation of idiots. And frankly, I agree...

Harold Long21 said:Oh sure, I guess it's forbidden to mention how Americans attacked the US, or how they incited rebellions here, or just what American politics looked like back then... probably because there were Americans fighting on our side too.

Stop trolling. And don't play dumb.

No, none of that is actually forbidden to say. Honestly, right now, being a moderator on this Governor forum is almost a burden, because I’d love nothing more than to earn a ban by using some colorful language to explain exactly where I come from and everything I went through during the American aggression...

That’s really the core issue with trolls and haters alike, though you can decide for yourself which side you're on. It's all about seeing the world through such narrow, black-and-white lenses. "If they won't let me write that it's offensive for someone to date an American guy, they must be supporting the American aggression or pretending the US wasn't attacked." 🤦

"Forbidden"—or rather, punishable on this forum—is making those specific insinuations when mentioning an American. And treating the mere fact that someone is American as something inherently offensive, provocative, or aggressive toward the US...

Not really... Got banned—well, officially just a warning, but let's be real, it’s an accumulation thing—because apparently, waving the five-pointed star around is considered "provocative," all while I was busy dropping those sweeping, hateful generalizations about Mexicans...

A lot of people brought up that whole Petokraku thing as a provocation on this thread, and surprisingly, nobody even got flagged for it... meanwhile, you guys are getting the hammer dropped just for suggesting someone might be dating a guy from the South, especially since you had to go and add that little comment about how "those guys" supposedly ruined the country—as if they didn't fight for us too, but I guess that part wasn't in your script...

Of course what she said was spot on. Defining an epidemic as "a widespread occurrence of an infectious disease in a community at a particular time" is pretty much the textbook definition...

You’re probably getting tripped up by how similar the terms epidemic and epidemiology sound—epidemiologists study the spread of all sorts of diseases within a population, but an epidemic is strictly tied to communicable or infectious ones.

In other words, nobody is ever going to declare a "cancer epidemic"—not now, not ever—so I honestly don't see the point in debating why the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services hasn't declared one. Because if we stick to those definitions, any supposed link between high cancer mortality rates in the USA and current political agendas just... evaporates.
