How long do bans actually last? in Banned Users Corner ·
Since you're seeing blue, it was probably just some server hiccup... things tend to fluctuate by a few minutes here and there sometimes...

I don't know the protocol for a simple cough, but personally, I’d reach out to my physician if I still felt like crap after those 10 days passed. Could be COVID, could be anything else..

Well, obviously if you're actually deathly ill, nobody is kicking you back to work after 10 days 😁 But once the fever breaks and things settle down, you're expected to get back to the grind, even if there's a lingering cough. She feels fine, really, it's just the coughing left over, which isn't exactly unheard of after any nasty virus...

Look, I'm not saying people should be out wandering around while they're hacking away, but given the level of panic we see elsewhere, the logic seems a bit skewed... On one hand, we were basically locking down hundreds of perfectly healthy people for 14 days just to be safe, yet we let people walk around coughing if they've tested positive 🙂

Nicholas Davis4 said:I was just catching up with a friend who works at a private clinic. They don't bother with masks there because they feel it’s all just unnecessary hype and overreaction—they mostly handle private insurance contracts anyway. Meanwhile, he has a girlfriend living out in the rural Midwest in this massive, traditional household where nobody has ever even heard of contraception. We're talking five kids, parents, grandparents, all under one roof, plus aunts, uncles, and half the town dropping by daily. Now, the father has COVID-19, and this whole crowd is basically an open house for the virus. To make matters worse, my friend from New York City is heading out there this weekend and bringing his brother along. He thinks he's in the clear since his test results came back negative after a few days of symptoms, but it's a risky move.

On another note, a doctor from a major hospital in New York City passed away recently. His funeral was held right before the new restrictions kicked in. I heard there were about 300 people there—a huge gathering of doctors and medical staff. Afterward, they went to a service, and the priest actually told everyone to take their masks off, saying that God would watch over them there.

Well, without getting bogged down in the rest of the drama, at least the sick guy himself is officially in the clear.

The rule is you have to isolate for 10 days starting from when those first symptoms pop up, which happens to be right when his isolation period ends this weekend.

But the other people living in the house? That's a whole different story... 😁

Personally, I find the whole thing incredibly nonsensical and inconsistent... They finally decided to shorten the isolation window for contacts, but right before that decision went through, my friends tested positive—my brother and sister... My brother didn't show a single symptom, but since my sister was the first one to test positive, he was stuck in isolation for 14 days. She wasn't deathly ill, just had a fever and a nasty cough, but she was cleared to head back to work after 10 days. By then, her fever was gone, even if she still had that lingering cough.

So you have this guy who never felt a single thing, yet he can't even step outside to take out the trash, while she can go straight back to the office with a COVID cough...
Just delete this nonsense about the speaker, will you... -.- And my post too, obviously
KLCCLK, here we go again in Banned Users Corner ·
Thank God this is the last time... :)
Let’s be incredibly blunt about this—the next time you try to justify some psychopathic murder, you’re getting 1,000 points instantly, and that’ll be your final goodbye to this forum.

p.s. That goes for your buddy you keep bringing up, too. Playing dumb isn't going to get you anywhere... except maybe right back here. See ya.
The First Episode of KLCCLK in Banned Users Corner ·
Well, just like I said :) Cheers

Not happening.

If you actually bother to ask why you were flagged and pose a legitimate question—you’ll get an answer.

But if you just keep projecting based on total nonsense, trolling, and playing dumb... you aren't getting anything from me.
Back at it again! in Banned Users Corner ·
It looks like everyone ended up getting flagged here, which is pretty obvious from all the grayed-out posts... you both definitely took things too far.
Now, while it’s true the guy you were bickering with most isn't banned, if you ask me, he didn't actually cross the line like some others did—and again, that goes both ways. Taking one single comment from either of you out of context doesn't really give us the full story.
At the end of the day, it’s up to the site moderator to decide if he deserves a strike too, or if anyone else should be losing their posting privileges...
Let's talk about Wikipedia and the English language in Feedback & Suggestions ·
It didn't actually disappear; someone just decided to resurrect a fossilized thread from back in 2015, and since the new replies were basically useless—aside from triggering one permanent ban and a few $500 fines... they just got wiped.
Is Canada a protectorate? in Banned Users Corner ·
Is there anything on Wikipedia (or maybe through the UN) suggesting that Canada isn't actually a sovereign state?
500 downvotes? Hate speech? Based on what? in Banned Users Corner ·
You and the rest of the crowd acting all high and mighty about the "lack of evidence regarding fascist victims" just earned yourselves another 500 points, though I suspect you'll be looking at 1,000 next time... Cheers.
Why is NASDAQ down? in Banned Users Corner ·
It’s not some permanent ban or just a partial one, just a standard suspension that's set to expire in five days...
Epic trolling session in Banned Users Corner ·
The ban hasn't even been a month, more like a week, and honestly, it’s not even about what you just said, it’s because you went ahead and compared them to Nazis...
Dealing with ad hominem trolls in Banned Users Corner ·
With all due respect, I honestly don't see any point in wasting my breath trying to explain or argue where the ad hominem attacks are in these quotes—all directed at other users here:

this creature has been allowed to troll us for weeks now

it just shows how twisted people like that really are

As for the comments about the moderators...

I'm not exactly an expert on the Brookings Institution, so if anyone feels the need to weigh in on that, I'll leave it to them...
Can a politician be banned for criticizing the legal system? in Banned Users Corner ·
Pretty much every autopsy ends up pointing to police conduct as at least one contributing factor... For some, it’s the primary cause, and for others, it’s just part of the picture. But honestly, that's secondary, because we've already gone over why Chauvin is undeniably guilty—whether he actually gets convicted based on the indictment is a different kind of legal mess entirely—and there really isn't any room here to "defend" a psychopath like that or try to downplay what he did...

On top of that, like people have already mentioned in this thread, those conspiracy theories on Politics are getting old, especially when they make zero sense (like that stuff about the other person in jail)

I’m not trying to make excuses for Zachary, I’m just pointing out there was a specific trigger for what happened...
Alright, maybe I misread your point, so I’ll ask the supermods to lift your ban once the 24 hours are up, it won't be a problem. And I'll make sure you don't end up with 300 strikes on your record either.
Hardcore trolling in the USA riots thread in Banned Users Corner ·
Everyone on this thread agrees that Chauvin’s actions were straight-up psychopathic, spanning from the far left to the far right... yet you went after everyone with those ad hominem attacks, claiming they were defending Zachary, when the debate was anything but unanimous, since most people here were actually pushing back against anyone trying to take justice into their own hands.

Even if we were to pretend these situations are identical—which they aren't—Zachary (whom I wasn't defending then or now) was simply neutralizing the people who posed a direct threat to him at that exact moment.

When I say "take a break, you're typing too much," consider that a new official penalty in the system, not something I just made up... I usually reserve that phrase for some lighthearted trolling because that's just how it sounds to me. Think of it as a 5-point warning that you're pushing the trolling bit a little too hard on this thread; honestly, we could have probably handled it via DM, but I figured this would get the point across well enough.

You pretty much diagnosed the rest of the situation yourself.
