My big day is May 29th! Honestly, I can't wait... feels like time is just dragging its feet lately. All the heavy lifting is already done, so now I’m just sitting here with nothing to do...

Have you tried their cake yet? What’s the verdict... I actually picked up some cookies from them for a wedding recently, but I didn't grab any of the cakes. Still on the hunt for the perfect wedding cake, so I'm dying to know if they're actually any good...

We need to start sending out invites, and we can't seem to agree on the drink selection. What are you all planning to serve? I was thinking about offering some local bourbon, cognac, an herbal liqueur, and maybe something sweet like maraschino cherries. What do you think?
thanx!
So when's the big wedding? Honestly, I think your drink selection sounds solid. In my experience, whenever people come over for wedding festivities, they usually just show up with bourbon... so your idea of having a little bit of everything... it's pretty great.
I was just scrolling through Dundo from Josipovca's page... their wedding cakes look absolutely stunning. I'm wondering if anyone here has actually ordered from them? Was it worth it, and what kind of damage are we talking about price-wise?
I've ordered from Robert over at Hotel Osijek before—the guy makes legendary cakes—and they usually run anywhere from $1200 up to $533... so now I'm curious what Dunda's prices look like.
Jason Howard5 said:That only works if the venue is strictly for the wedding party... but since Kopika is a restaurant, that's not gonna fly.
It's such a letdown, honestly. Half the wedding guests end up wandering outside anyway....
Jason Howard5 said:Seriously, does anyone actually let people smoke inside the venue?
My in-laws are having their big bash over at Copeland, and even though we booked the whole place out for a private party, the management is still breathing down my neck saying guests can't smoke indoors. Like, hello? It’s a private event!
What's the deal where you guys are? Is it just me?
I heard somewhere that if you post a guest list on the door and mark it as a private event, you might be able to get away with letting people smoke inside. Honestly, I don't know if that's legit or where you'd even check... we aren't allowed to smoke indoors either.
If you’re hunting for some flowers, honestly, just head over to Des Moines. Hit up Palm Florist! Prices are super reasonable, and the lady running the place is just awesome. She’s got tons of great ideas and won't try to upsell you on the priciest stuff just to make a buck.
I also used Graphic Arts for some invitations recently, and I gotta say... I wasn't exactly thrilled. Don't get me wrong, the invites themselves look gorgeous, but the pricing situation was a mess. They gave me one quote, then when it came time to actually settle up, they hit me with a totally different number. It was like dealing with hidden sales tax or something. Look, I don't really care about the breakdown, just tell me the bottom line upfront so I know what I'm paying for the damn invitation.
Thanks so much, ladies! I was thinking about putting some glass bowls on the tables with those candles. I checked out one shop where a single candle is almost $1.25, which means the whole display setup would run me about $13... I was kind of hoping it might be cheaper if I just put it all together myself.
John Ramirez10 said:e, yeah, I’ve got one more question. Does anyone know where I can find Maggie Sotero wedding dresses in Cleveland?😕
Maybe give Isabelle's Salon a shot. Their website says they carry it...
hey ladies!
Just joined the group and hoping you guys can point me in the right direction.
Does anyone know where I can snag those floating candles? Ideally looking for a bulk pack or something... need quite a few.
I swung by Vegas earlier, but honestly, it was kind of a letdown.
