I actually have a light show set up myself, and I use Leon Productions to run everything.
I don't know, I just said please don't hold me to that—I'm pretty sure that's what they told us last year. We weren't really in the mood for jokes at the time, so my memory of the specifics is a bit fuzzy.
If I remember correctly, the room itself is basically empty, $6000 just a plain space with some chairs and nothing else. But if you go with their catering and drinks, you're looking at $200-$83 per person. A friend of mine actually booked a spot there, though I’m not 100% sure about their specific pricing. Basically, she opted for the empty hall rental and then brought in everything herself—the food, the drinks, the desserts, all the decorations. She even had to hire her own servers, cooks, and a whole crew to handle the details.
I stopped by this past Saturday. The venue itself is decent, though I did have a couple of gripes regarding the ceiling height and those partition pillars. Basically, the ceiling feels pretty low compared to other spots, and there are just so many dividers cutting into the space, which makes the dance floor feel way smaller than it actually is. On the bright side, they put mirrors on every single pillar, which is a clever move—it definitely helps trick the eye into thinking the room is more spacious. Anyway, that’s just my take on it.
Hey everyone, where are you all buying—or planning to buy—those little bride and groom cake toppers? I saw some at a local Target, but they felt kind of tacky to me. Everything seems so cliché, like the bride is catching a guy who’s just sitting there with a fishing pole and a ball and chain or something. I definitely wouldn't want that at my wedding. Do you guys have any creative ideas?

I’m looking for someone who actually knows what they’re doing and won't mess up my face. A solid recommendation would be amazing right about now. 🙂 Thanks so much in advance! 😉
I’ve got an amazing wife from Indianapolis, so if you're interested, just shoot me a private message. I see you're looking for a makeup artist too, so I can definitely give her my recommendation again. I used to struggle so much with my skin being incredibly oily; whenever I actually sat down to apply makeup, everything would just slide right off my face. When she finally finished my makeup, I was honestly speechless. I couldn't believe the transformation—it was like looking at a completely different person.
minie, I picked up some envelopes at Allstate, and one of them was only $0.20 It was totally worth it for me, especially since we’re going with the same design for the invitations anyway so they actually look pretty great. Just plain white ones—it felt like enough for what I needed I mean, why overthink the envelopes? It's all going to end up in the trash eventually
I went with Leon Productions for my $4500, and honestly, everything they did was . From the photography and videography to the lighting setup, it was all top-tier. Like someone once said, true quality comes with a price tag, and I am just so incredibly grateful I managed to book them for my . 🙂

I'm actually having a bit of an internal crisis right now, torn between two specific pairs 😁
I actually printed them all myself; I just picked up an edge cutter to give them a cleaner look. I really wanted that satin ribbon to run from edge to edge—you know, the way they show in those Angelus Art tutorials—but I just couldn't get it to stick properly. So, I ended up going with this current method. Also, just a heads-up: I tried using those Moment adhesives and similar brands, but I wasn't happy with the results at all. Instead, I switched to clear silicone. It definitely takes longer to dry, but once it sets, it’s rock solid. I’ve been putting every single piece inside a notebook to keep them pressed down, and after about an hour, they’re perfectly dry and flat. So, yeah, that’s just my experience with it. Regarding your question about the paper, I picked up some A4, 0.50 lb sheets from Michaels, and I managed to get three invitations out of a single sheet.
http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/5...icazaforum.jpg Here’s what mine looks like I think it turned out pretty well I paid $2.50 for the paper and passed the test just fine since it was only $16.50 at Hobby Lobby But then I checked at Michaels $13 and they have the exact same thing I honestly have no clue why there's such a huge price gap
rowdypanther16 what kind of adhesive stickers are you talking about? That sounds like an amazing idea. I’m going to need a ton of those little bottles because I’m hosting 500 guests across 60 tables, and I want one at every single station. Plus, I want plenty of spares just in case we need to swap anything out—both for my setup and my partner's. It’s definitely better to over-prepare than to run short.
Chloe Evans6 Don't worry, I'll make sure I grab some for you too; I haven't forgotten you! As for the cardstock for the invitations (and I assume you're looking for the same stuff I am), I picked up a couple of packs from Allstate right across from the local Hobby Lobby—it was 70x100cm. I also grabbed some translucent paper at Michaels for about 50 cents per A4 sheet, though they don't seem to carry the specific type I wanted, unless you're looking for certain earth tones. I ended up using a wide ribbon instead of mesh, and then layered a thinner satin ribbon right over the top. You should check out the "Handmade Invitations" thread for some inspiration.
My mom actually dug up some old bottles of Fanta because she went through all her friends who run local coffee shops and diners asking them to save them for us. I'm looking for about 200 pieces, but at this rate, I’ll probably end up with way too many. How many do you need? I might have enough to cover you, too.
