Now that our big day is finally over, I’ve got some serious recommendations for everyone!!!
The Classic venue was incredible—the chefs pulled off a world-class dinner, and the servers were total pros, immediately jumping on board when I suggested rearranging the room layout (based on Noah's idea).
The flowers were done by the Wedding Decor crew from Memphis. They killed it. The second I saw those little bouquets for the flower girls, I knew my own bouquet would be flawless. And it was
Noah was our Photographer—I don't even need to say much about him, just that he is worth every single penny 🙏 🙏!!! His crew is absolutely insane and I’m honestly thinking I'll have to hire him again for something else!!!
Quattro band—hands down the best band ever!!! They set such an amazing vibe; we had a blast, and all our guests did too. A real band for a real party!!! 🙂
My hairstylist did a stunning job—Mattea from Studio L in Chester!
Victoria was perfect—twice!! Seriously, she came out on Friday to do my makeup, and then again on Monday for the photo shoot!! I am officially done trying to do my own makeup for formal events!!!

Rebecca Gray4 said:I was wondering about those makeup services you arranged with Victoria—what’s the going rate for that, and does she charge a travel fee if she comes out to the house?

I’m telling you, $40 is nothing, $50 is where it's at.

I have absolutely no clue what kind of wedding cake I should order. Look, I’ve already nailed down the exterior design, but the inside? That's a total mystery to me. Give me your best suggestions and tell me about your own experiences.

Where in Indianapolis can I find a high-quality Soak Off?

wiredowl10 I can't even begin to deal with this. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
Just me. Alone. 🙂Honestly, looking back on it now, I can barely help but laugh, but at the time? I was absolutely floored. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
So, she was basically five minutes late right off the bat. I call her up, she tells me she’s on her way, and then nothing. Total radio silence. She didn't even pick up her phone for the next hour! By the time she finally decided to show up, there were only thirty minutes left until the wedding started. It was like she couldn't care less. Honestly, it felt like something was seriously wrong on her end.
I don't know. Maybe there really was something out of her control.

Then I heard that people have been showing up late and causing all sorts of delays. Seriously? Total mess.
Look, just take my advice: book your makeup appointment way ahead of time. Seriously. If you don't, you're going to end up in the exact same mess I was in. Don't say I didn't warn you.

And I booked her for my wedding too, even though now I’m having massive second thoughts... Should I just go ahead and book a backup?? I mean, seriously, what kind of unprofessionalism is this??? Just straight up ghosting my calls?!

Walter Moore5 said:Hey everyone, where have you been picking up beer for the party?? I heard it was cheapest in Mexico, but my boyfriend just got back from a trip there and says the price of tequila is basically the same as here in the States. Since tequila is the most expensive part of my budget, that’s a big deal for me...

Look, the price of tequila is going to be the same everywhere, including Mexico. It's not worth making the trip just for that. But everything else? Everything else is half the price. We already bought all the rest of our party supplies over there (vodka, bitters, whatever else you need). Even the sodas are worth grabbing down there—at least some of them. You’re definitely going to come out ahead if you shop there.

cosmictiger67, look, maybe try heading down to a local bridal boutique and just asking them who they use for their cleaning services. If you play your cards right, they might actually trust you enough to give up the name.
I’m actually going wedding dress shopping next week myself, so I can definitely ask around if they’re willing to spill the beans.

Jesse Morgan73... absolutely killer!!!
I feel a hell of a lot better now, and I’m crossing my fingers that my trial goes just as smoothly!!! I seriously can't wait!!!!

Jesse Morgan73 said:Alright, just wanted to give you all a heads-up—I have a makeup trial scheduled with Victoria today, so I'll report back immediately on how everything turns out!!

I am dying to hear how it went!!!
I've got my own trial scheduled for next Friday, also with Victoria!!!

Just booked Victoria for my makeup session!!! Fingers crossed everything turns out perfect—I’ve got my trial scheduled for June 24th. Honestly, looking at her portfolio, I am absolutely obsessed with her work!!!

Kiara, you have to let me know how yours goes!!!

Kenneth Bailey48 said:We hired http://www.quattro-band-osijek.com/qbo-na-vjencanju/. That's their site, but you won't find any recordings on there. Based on our experience, the singer was great and they play just about everything. They're willing to learn whatever you need—they even picked up some Southern country tunes because they've played plenty of weddings down South. They've performed everywhere, really. Just a heads-up: you need to book them at least a year in advance, if not longer.

I put down a deposit on them back in October last year for our wedding this past September.

It seems everyone is obsessed with white and purple lately—back when I had my wedding, people were actually questioning my choice of colors. 🙂 Turns out lavender was the true culprit here. 🙂 In the end, though, it was such a stunning palette, and honestly, my whole house smelled like a field of lavender because of it. 🙂))

I’m running with a purple, white, and green combo myself, so I'm definitely interested in this. Count me in.

Jesse Morgan73 said:I’m definitely going to book Victoria, too—it seems like all I hear is good things about her!! And yeah, she absolutely brings her own professional makeup, obviously. Her pricing is $50 and she does $17 trials!!

So, how did the trial makeup session actually turn out?

cosmictiger67 said:Chick Studio is actually located over on 6th Avenue in Indianapolis. I’ve already put myself on the books for D-Day 😍
I haven't had my trial run for makeup yet, but I did go in for a haircut and color, and I must say, I am quite pleased with the results. I actually saw the work of the Dragons makeup artist in person when a close friend of mine got married, and the look was absolutely stunning 🙂
If you find yourself needing their phone number, just send me a private message.

Hey, can someone drop the phone number and the name of the artist working there? Also, where can I find photos of their work?

She’s completely booked up for the entire month of September.

Paul Garcia20 said:If anyone happens to be hunting for a makeup artist in the Indianapolis area, I really can't recommend John Marjanović enough. I booked her for a wedding recently and honestly, I was blown away—and so were all the guests who saw me. In fact, a friend of mine just booked her for her own wedding, so there'll be six of us getting our faces done on May 7th!
$50She works with high-end brands like Mac, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Dior, which is a huge plus, though I suppose part of the reason people flock to her is that she’s working from home while her little one is still quite small.
My makeup stayed absolutely flawless from about 11 in the morning all the way until I finally crawled into bed at 4 in the morning—it didn't budge. The only thing I had to touch up was my lipstick, mostly because of all the eating and drinking throughout the night. 😬 And seriously, the foundation didn't melt off at all; even though I was sweating quite a bit and kept dabbing at my face with tissues, everything stayed perfectly in place.
I'll send you her contact info via private message, since I'm not entirely sure if I'm allowed to post phone numbers here. 😉

Hey, can you shoot me that contact info in a PM?

Jesse Morgan73 said:Hey everyone, I’m looking for some solid recommendations for a makeup artist and a hairstylist. Honestly, I have no idea where to even start my search... does anyone know someone who actually delivers? I’m particularly on the hunt for a talented hairstylist, mainly because the lady I usually go to just can't seem to pull off wedding styles at all.
thanks

I'm in the exact same boat—especially looking for a makeup artist!!!!

Jacob Grant said:Oh, well Super. Is their quote sitting at 14 $0.00? Usually, it’s the wives who insist on the high-end stuff, but you're the exception! Lucky you. 😉 I definitely need to sleep on this decision...

13 $0.00. Look, at first I was the one being stubborn, but then I hesitated because I genuinely had no clue what the price tag would be. After that, he was the one insisting, regardless of how much it cost. I really lucked out—I ended up with a sweetheart who actually has an artist's soul. What can I say!

Jacob Grant said:Fair enough. Thanks! So, who did you guys end up going with?

Look, we finally pulled the trigger on Leon Productions because my husband wouldn't stop nagging me about it. Yeah, they charge a premium. They're expensive. But honestly? It's worth every single cent. Everything I've seen from them is absolutely flawless.

Jacob Grant said:Has anyone checked out the work by Mario Franov and Christian Petrić lately? What’s the word on them? How was their video?

I haven't watched the video yet, but I did catch a few photos and I think they're pretty cool. They’ve got some solid ideas—it's definitely not your typical boring stuff. Honestly, they were my runner-up choice.
