Betty Barrett70, I would love something just like that!😍

My mother makes treats exactly like those. I’ve actually tried to get her to bake them for me, but since she doesn't have the proper business licenses or anything, we can't make it happen professionally. As for those mass-produced cookies you find made from flour and lard at the grocery store, they are simply 🙄
.
So, if you wouldn't mind, could you please send those details my way? Thank you so much!
Tyler Lee75 said:Well, I suppose 😁 was accomplished today.
By the way, how many days until I can withdraw my beta?

It usually takes about a week to ten days. Honestly, you would find it much better and significantly more affordable to simply wait for a home test. As for seeing your OB-GYN, I wouldn't recommend making an appointment until you are at least seven or eight weeks along.
Tyler Lee75 said:I should probably clarify... I have never experienced that kind of tension or those mild ovarian aches before. It is difficult to put into words... perhaps I feel something similar just the day before my period, but even then, rarely. I have certainly never felt anything quite like this. Now, I am left wondering if this is actually it... or what exactly is happening.🙂
And my breasts are quite sore, too.

There is no point in taking a pregnancy test before the day you expect your period to arrive, as it simply won't be accurate yet; your best bet would be to head to a clinic for a blood test to check your beta hCG levels instead.

That pulling sensation in your ovaries can often be a sign of ovulation, much like breast tenderness. Furthermore, the cervical mucus you mentioned is a classic indicator of ovulation, especially since an egg is only viable for about 24 hours after release. Therefore, if you are trying to conceive, you should definitely take advantage of this window today!😉

I need some insight from you all... so, my partner and I slept together without any protection this past Monday, Dec 24th—we got a little carried away 😁. My last period was on Dec 2nd, and my cycles usually run about 34-35 days, so I’m expecting my next one around the middle of next week. According to my fertility tracker, we actually hit our peak window... I don't want to spiral into a panic thinking this is the "miracle moment" if it isn't, but honestly 😁 I can't help but get excited at the thought of a little one 🙂. Anyway, I'm rambling a bit here 😁. My question is: what's more likely? A positive test or my period? I was planning on taking a test next week so I know where I stand—that way I won't be sitting around waiting for a period that might not come. Is it too early to test, or should I hold off for a few more days?

That fertility calendar (the counting method, right?) doesn't really serve much purpose, and you can't truly know if those are your fertile days unless you are consistently measuring your temperature and checking mucus every single day. 😉

Your chances are roughly 50-50.

Go ahead and take a test on the actual day you expect your period, or perhaps a couple of days after, but definitely not before then.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything turns out exactly how you hope; it's never quite the "perfect" timing for a baby, but everything has a way of working itself out 😉
Lawrence Ward7 said:My cycles usually run on a tight 28 or 29-day schedule. And I totally forgot to mention the sleep issues—plus, I’m running to the bathroom constantly. Honestly, I can't even remember a time when my period was this late.

Perhaps you should try testing again tomorrow morning. If the result comes back negative once more, I would personally suggest scheduling an appointment with your OB-GYN just to be safe.
fadedmason43 said:So, I’m not entirely sure what’s going on with me...
Basically, I’ve been sleeping with my boyfriend, though I can't recall the last time it actually happened. Last night, I woke up twice because I was vomiting, and today I just feel incredibly drowsy. My period is due any day now—could this potentially be pregnancy??
😕😕

It might be, or it might not be.
☕

Look, based strictly on the details you have shared here, we would all need a crystal ball to give you any kind of definitive answer.

I’m also stuck wondering why my period hasn't shown up. My last one was November 16th, and it’s already late. It's usually clockwork, too. I don't know if I'm just imagining things or if it's real, but I've got at least three pregnancy symptoms hitting me: the missed period, this dull cramping in my lower abdomen like it's coming but never does, waves of hot flashes, being nauseous all day, and honestly, I feel like crying over absolutely nothing. I took a test this afternoon and it was negative.
Is it still too early for the test to be right?

It really depends on how long your typical cycles usually last. However, if your cycles are generally shorter than 40 days, I don't believe it is too early to tell. Perhaps you should wait just a few more days and then try the test again.
Kate Barnes46 said:Hey guys 😁 first off, I actually had an account way back before this one, but I totally lost my password for both my email and the forum, so that’s why I’m starting fresh with this account... I haven't really hung out in this sub before, so I really hope you’ll all be welcoming and maybe help me out if you can... anyway, let's get into it 😁

So, it was basically the last day of my moonlight (well, technically it finished two days ago on the 9th) and we were sleeping together (unprotected), and he finished inside me just a little bit before pulling out... eh, now I'm feeling some "symptoms" that I might just be making up in my head, who knows 😍 like, my breasts feel super sensitive, my lower stomach feels kind of bloated (or maybe I just ate too much, haha), I'm constantly exhausted, I get dizzy sometimes, and lately, I've been having these terrible headaches—they come and go, hit hard, then fade for a few hours and come right back... I haven't been throwing up or anything like what women usually talk about, and honestly, even if I am pregnant, it feels way too early for these symptoms to show up...

Just to clarify, my boyfriend and I weren't specifically trying for a baby, but we have talked about it and we'd be so happy if I were pregnant, since it wouldn't be "unplanned," it would just be arriving a little earlier than expected (at least, that's how my favorite guy put it 😍 )

My period usually starts right on the 6th of every month at around 10 AM, until that annoying red stuff finally shows up 😬

It's still way too early for a pregnancy test, but I just couldn't resist jumping on here to ask what you guys think about these symptoms, and if it's even possible to get pregnant during your period (since my cousins act like it's impossible, even though that sounds totally absurd to me, but whatever)

So yeah, I know this is a long post, but I hope you understand—I'm just so excited and anxious, but also a little scared because I'm just so unsure 🙂

Kisses to all my fellow moms-to-be and everyone else out there feeling the same anxiety 😍

It is certainly possible to be pregnant if you experienced early ovulation; while it is rare, it is by no means impossible. The symptoms you are describing are also consistent with pregnancy, and personally, I never once felt nauseous during my own pregnancy.
But that is just my opinion; wait until the 6th to take a test and you will see. Again, despite the common misconceptions, it is definitely not impossible.
Kimberly Morgan2 said:I have a quick question for those who've navigated pregnancy tests before.
On Monday, I took an Intim Plus test—on day 30 of my cycle—and at first, there was just this faint shadow that only I could see 😁, but after a few hours, it turned into a pale line that stayed visible until I tossed it that evening. My cycles usually run about 32–33 days, though they can be irregular—sometimes stretching up to 41. Tomorrow, Tuesday, I tried two Clearblue tests—one standard and one digital that cost me $23 🙂—and both were clearly negative. (None of these three tests were done with that first morning urine...) Since my period hasn't arrived yet, I'm wondering if there's any point in testing again... ? I know nobody can give me a definitive answer, but I'm curious: how many days before a period can these tests actually show a positive?

In my case, when I took my first test right around my expected period, I also saw a very faint line.
Just two days later, it became a very distinct positive 😍—one was a Clearblue (those tend to be faint), and the other was a brand from $6.75. For context, I have regular 30-31 day cycles, and my ovulation happened on day 16 that time.

It sounds like you might have tested a bit too early (it isn't recommended to test before your period is actually due), especially since your cycles aren't always consistent. If you can, try to wait a few more days, perhaps even until day 41. If your period still hasn't arrived by then, go ahead and test again. If you had a delayed ovulation this month, it would be quite difficult for a test to show a positive this soon. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you! 😉
Patrick Watson17 said:Sãd, it's already over :\\
I know

Have you tried running the test again?
Patrick Watson17 said:To be honest, an abortion doesn't even cross my mind, and neither does adoption... my own mother had me when she was only 19, so I assume she'll step up to help if things happen, and I suppose whoever ends up in that position would get some help from their grandma too...😛

Of course, I agree with you, but I am simply suggesting that one shouldn't rely on the assumption that Mom or Grandma will always be there to pick up the pieces. It isn't fair to the child, nor is it fair to lean so heavily on parents and grandparents.
Patrick Watson17 said:My cycle usually runs about 28 to 29 days, and my period has never been more than five days late...
Well, my partner and I definitely get a bit carried away sometimes...

And honestly, we both agree it's probably a bit premature to be thinking about this since neither of us has a steady career yet, plus we're still living under our parents' roof back in the suburbs... so if a test actually comes up positive, I truly have no clue what my first move would even be...😕

Listen, playing around like that when you're in this kind of position is incredibly irresponsible. If it turns out to be positive, your options aren't exactly vast; you're looking at either being supported by your parents, going through adoption, or an abortion.

I am truly hoping for a negative result for you, but please, for heaven's sake, start using protection...
Patrick Watson17 said:haha, so even you think there's no way for Eli... 😛
As for my period, it usually lasts about five or six days. And honestly, my husband and I are basically like two heat-seeking missiles most of the time, haha, so we try to make it happen every other day whenever we can, Eli, which means logically speaking, I was probably right in the window... hmm...

Actually, we knew it was possible, we just got a little carried away.😁

Considering how long your entire cycle lasts—not just the period itself—it definitely seems like pregnancy could happen.
Patrick Watson17 said:Well, it’s usually pretty regular, but things happen... I mean, a few years back my period was nearly two weeks late, which was a total mess... and while we weren't using protection, he didn't actually finish inside me, so I guess you have to weigh the chances, right? Is it even possible through pre-cum? I don't know how much of a risk that really is...
I actually went out the day before yesterday and took one, but it came up negative, though I didn't use my first urine of the morning, so who knows...

Mhm, I can certainly feel something going on in my stomach right now.😍

Well, you see, that also depends heavily on when your ovulation actually occurred, since it doesn't always land right in the middle of your cycle, and you haven't mentioned how long your cycles typically are.

I say this with the best intentions: just head straight to the pharmacy and pick up another test. If you have a bit more extra cash and want absolute certainty, you should go to a private lab for a beta hCG blood test.
If the test comes back negative again, you likely aren't pregnant, but if your period still doesn't show up in a few days, please make an appointment with your gynecologist.😉
Patrick Watson17 said:I've been dealing with these same symptoms for an entire week now, but absolutely nothing has changed... :/
And honestly, that’s exactly what’s got me so worried.

By the way, is your cycle usually regular? And what would you say are the odds of pregnancy, assuming there was unprotected intercourse?

I would suggest walking over to a local CVS or Walgreens to pick up a new test; if your period is already this late, even the most basic one should give you a clear answer.
Patrick Watson17 said:I’m running about 9 or 10 days late now, and I’ve been noticing a few things... I actually took a test just a couple of days ago, but it came back negative. Is there any chance the test was just lying to me? 🤷 😕.. or am I just totally overthinking this whole thing 🤷 because my lower back keeps aching out of nowhere, my breasts feel incredibly sensitive, I haven't seen any signs of my period starting, and even my usual discharge seems to have increased quite a bit... I really need some urgent advice here :/

You should definitely try taking the test again. The symptoms you're describing could certainly be attributed to PMS as well.😉
mistyhound12 said:I'm 17, and about ten days ago, I had sex with my boyfriend for the first time... we used protection. My period was supposed to arrive three days after we hooked up, but it was late, and I finally got it yesterday. For that whole week, I was terrified I might be pregnant, even though I feel like it’s impossible since nothing broke and he didn't finish inside me. I've been traveling quite a bit over the last month, moving through different climates, so I'm thinking that's probably why my cycle was delayed... plus, my period feels different than usual this time. I've been reading online that some women experience bleeding even when they're pregnant... I'm honestly just wondering if I should go out and buy a test just to get this anxiety out of my head once and for all?

It is most likely that you aren't pregnant, but honestly, go ahead and buy one just for your own peace of mind. You can find very reliable tests from $8.25 that are proven to work 😁😉

Tyler Davis2 said:I was wondering how early a pregnancy test can actually turn positive—is there any way to know before my period is even due? For instance, my cycle is usually about 23 days, and I'm already on day 20. Is it too soon to see anything on a test? Honestly, I’m just so impatient because I really, really want to get pregnant right now!

Last time I was pregnant, I tried testing on day 18 of my cycle and it came back negative, then I waited until day 23 and finally saw a positive. I've been using an Intim Plus test, but does anyone have recommendations for another brand that's just as reliable?

It is possible, but not guaranteed. Your best bet is to wait until a day or two after your expected period begins; that way, any test you take should be highly reliable.
nplava As I have noted before, there is a certain elegance in how these discussions unfold when we take the time to truly consider the nuances of the subject at hand. It is quite refreshing to see such a thoughtful exchange occurring here.
I wasn't entirely certain which existing thread would be most appropriate for this particular topic, so I have decided to initiate a brand-new discussion instead.
It is my very first time visiting this forum, and I must say that I am truly impressed by how wonderful everyone’s advice has been so far. Since you all have been such a great resource, I thought I would go ahead and share my own situation to see what you might think...

I have been experiencing some irregularities with my menstrual cycle lately, and I wanted to ask for some insight. My partner and I have been having intercourse without using protection during our initial foreplay, though we do switch to using condoms before he actually ejaculates. We have done this several times in a single evening—essentially warming things up unprotected and then transitioning to a condom later on.
I noticed my cycle dates were January 9th, March 16th, and May 24th, with each period typically lasting about four or five days. However, on June 26th, I had unprotected intercourse twice while my period was actually absent, and in both instances, my partner finished inside me. Given that I am 28 years old and actively trying to start a family, I find myself wondering if pregnancy is a possibility under these specific circumstances. Furthermore, considering how irregular my cycles have been lately, when would be the most appropriate and earliest time for me to take a pregnancy test to get an accurate result? 🤷

Day two of the cycle is proving to be quite difficult, isn't it? It is truly exhausting. Given how long your cycles tend to be, I find myself somewhat skeptical that ovulation would actually occur as early as day seven.

Regarding the test results, I am somewhat uncertain myself; perhaps it would be more prudent for you to wait another two or three weeks before proceeding?
