I’m pretty sure a monitor either works or it doesn't... there isn't really a middle ground here.
But then again—science taught us a long time ago that anything is technically possible, even if it's highly unlikely... 🤣🤣
Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I’d probably just yank that GPU out of the motherboard one more time and give everything a good, thorough blast of compressed air... just to be safe.
Unless you've already tried that...
Because if the issue persists after that, there's a 99.9% chance the card itself is toast.
That tiny 0.1% margin of error? That's just the possibility that you're dealing with a faulty cable or a cheap adapter if you're using one at all.

Take a long look at those contact cables and the GPU connection, just to be safe.
Take a look from underneath... any sign of screws? Usually, they hide them under those little rubber feet where the mouse slides—you know, those tiny pads. And hey, if you can't find anything, just search online to see if that specific model is even meant to be opened.
It’s definitely possible to get into it, though I wouldn't bet it's a simple job. Might be a bit of a headache. Use Google—it'll probably have the teardown guide you need.

Just try double-clicking it... if you can get it apart, maybe clean off the contact points. I ran into the exact same headache with my G5

What kind of $2000?? Look, if we're talking about swapping the motherboard, then an i7-7700k becomes a total necessity.
Then again—it depends on whether they actually plan to ditch the mobo or not. I mean, they did mention changing the motherboard earlier.
For me, the i7 7700 is basically non-negotiable when paired with this GPU. You’ve listed nothing but top-tier components alongside an older processor—honestly, I don't see much else to look for here.
And you mentioned that budget isn't really a major concern...

I went with 2x4GB RAM because there's no way I'll need more than that for gaming in the next five years. Besides, I doubt buying a single stick at Best Buy is actually cheaper, so it’d be pointless not to run dual channel.
I’m with you on the 8GB of RAM. I just hadn't noticed if it was configured as 2x4GB or not.
As for the Hard Drive, that's just how I'd build it...
If you ask me, it's the better way to go.

Already sitting on 8GB of RAM (2x4)
Ah... my bad. I didn't realize it was 2x4 RAM.
I'd much rather just grab a computer that hits the mark right out of the box$1167—something I won't feel the need to tinker with or upgrade later on...

If you're buying new, something like this would be your best bet from Google; I think they throw in free assembly
You might find a different power supply at another shop for this price, but this Intel Pentium G4560 and GTX 1050 Ti combo is a total steal for what you're spending

Sure, you could save some cash by picking up newer parts, but I wouldn't touch an old motherboard or a Hard Drive—everything else here is a great value.
I’d personally look for a used graphics card with a warranty, maybe a GTX 960, R9 380, or something similar if you can find a deal
P.S.
The CPU choice is based on the fact that it's objectively the best value up to $333. The GPU choice might shift depending on whether your budget goes up or down, but you get what you pay for. There's a decent card for every price point.
You could probably swap out the case for something a bit cheaper on this build.
I’d change the case, the Hard Drive, and the RAM. Basically, go with the cheapest case possible, a 500GB Seagate Barracuda, and 8GB of RAM.

This CPU just doesn't make any sense paired with that GPU... plus, you won't be able to swap it over to a Z270 motherboard either.

Here’s how the i7 7700k stacks up against the iPhone $900 versus the media landscape in 3000.

I was just browsing some tech sites online and ended up falling down an iPhone rabbit hole. Honestly, I’ve never really been one for their stuff.
I was thinking about just picking out all the components myself and building the whole rig—you know, a custom PC from scratch, top to bottom.
Look, I’m not saying you can just swap out any corner store in America and expect the same thing—it’s not a one-to-one comparison. But man, the gaps between them are massive. If you're looking for a specific recommendation, which shop would you actually vouch for?
So, any updates regarding the iPhone?? I'm currently hunting for some new gear, and the main thing I'm weighing is the difference between $667 the iPhone and Instagram.
