In my experience, it usually went down like this: I’d have a specific "type" in mind—which doesn't mean I'm strictly closed off to minor deviations, of course—but then, out of nowhere, I’d find myself completely drawn to someone who represents the polar opposite of everything I thought I wanted. I suspect it might just be that innate human craving for something different, a little bit of novelty or a fresh challenge to navigate. But man... good luck dealing with the fallout once the dust settles.
I've never actually dated a girl who was my physical ideal (think Scarlett Johansson)
But they were all perfect when it came to intellectual connection.
It makes me proud of my choices. Girls, I'll love you all...
Thank you, thank you. Elvis has left the building.
neonhound10, you didn't exactly make a great first impression here.
wanderingscout13 didn't insult anyone in a single sentence of that post.
Maybe you're just lacking the right words, or maybe you're just messing around.
Anyway, if your opinion matches wanderingscout13's, then fine by me.
But you've basically just painted yourself as a bigot and a homophobe.
wanderingscout13 said:It feels like having an open, honest conversation about homosexuality has become nearly impossible lately, hasn't it? It’s morphed into this massive political lightning rod. Most advocacy groups seem to view everything through the lens of homophobia, which just creates this endless social deadlock between those who oppose it and those who support it...
But if you ask me, the real crux of the matter—if we look at it from a purely scientific perspective—would be this:
- Is someone born homosexual (as many advocacy groups claim), or is it something acquired later in life?
Now, why does that matter? Because it actually carries huge weight regarding civil rights! Think about it: in the first scenario, you can't really "blame" someone for their orientation because they simply have no choice in the matter. But in the second scenario, the argument shifts toward a perceived need for "treatment"... Yet, it seems there isn't enough conclusive evidence to definitively prove either side, right?
So, what's the takeaway here? It feels like we've reached a point where even the most established truths are being rewritten. We used to look in encyclopedias and find a fixed list of the Seven Wonders of the World, but now, we "democratically" vote on new ones. Similarly, marriage was traditionally defined exclusively as a union between a man and a woman, but now the push is toward two people of the same sex... or really, just any two people. It seems nothing is considered fundamental anymore; everything is subject to these sweeping generalizations driven by things like globalization and multiculturalism.
Is the world falling apart, or is this just the new normal?
I definitely fall into the pessimist camp!
Regarding homosexuality, it was suppressed and banned for so many years that you can't really blame the gay community for being on edge. Maybe they're a little too obsessed with proving they're "normal" like everyone else, but I get it. For a long time, society treated them like they were subhuman.
So, my conclusion would be that through social assimilation, better sex education, and just understanding the environment, we should be able to break these taboos.
And as for those Seven Wonders, it's all just commercialism, consumerism, and selling off a new wave of tourist traps...

Stop trying to plug your own thread here...😁
He passed away and I'm just feeling low😬
Honestly, the guy is his own walking contradiction since he doesn't even care for women 🙂

Hey everyone, could you do me a favor and head over to the "Latent Homophobia" thread? I started it recently, and honestly, it’s a pretty deep dive with some really solid points laid out there.
Thanks, folks.

If it’s considered National, then it belongs to every single citizen out there... whether that gets under your skin or not, everyone deserves to be treated equally...
Honestly, who cares about the Constitution anyway? It’s basically just some dead ink on a piece of paper at this point... |
Look, we go to the polls, we cast our votes, and we hand over our trust to these politicians, only to have them screw us over time and time again... So what’s the point of having a Constitution if it doesn't actually protect us from that kind of betrayal?
Well, keep on voting then.
Especially for those gay nationalists.
neonhound10 said:Look, think about it this way: you have certain people who just aren't your cup of tea and they get on your nerves. So, you decide to throw a party, and you tell those specific people you don't want them there.
Where is the insult in that?
It's your life, your party, and your choice...
A private party and the Democratic national team are two completely different things.
If it's Democratic, then it belongs to every single citizen. Whether it annoys you or not doesn't matter. Everyone is entitled to equality.
But honestly, who gives a damn about the Constitution? It's just dead ink on a piece of paper anyway.
slywolf45 said:So, he didn't actually offend anyone? Really?😲
So, what about gay men? Or am I just supposed to act like they don't exist in your worldview?
Let someone else take the lead on this one. Good morning. The real reason he’s refusing to let any gay men join his ranks... aside from the obvious homophobia, of course.
They'd be too busy staring at the opponents' butts to actually play a decent game.
That's just how they are. They're always looking for an opening to sneak one in.
Otto knows the deal. He's old school, trained in the classic way. You don't see that stuff there....
😬 😬 😬
Emotional connections are on a whole different level. You can't just sweep things under the rug forever; if you do, eventually everything is going to explode like a Big Bang.
When you're in a relationship, you're right—you take the good along with the bad. But if you aren't at least trying to work on your own flaws and theirs, then there's really no path toward growing together.
silverscout15 said:Yeah, I agree—it’s bad, seriously bad... but still. Look, I’m not just talking about romantic relationships here. I mean the general human psyche, how we tend to sweep certain things under the rug just because that feeling has become our "new normal." Whether it’s toward a partner, a parent, a sibling, or a friend.
I'm on the same page. It’s all about human connection.
Especially with friends. Those unspoken pacts and all that kind of thing..
And honestly, every single relationship involves emotion. You can't really have a connection without bringing some level of feeling into it (maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but still).👍
The absolute lamest thing I’ve ever heard is when someone claims they stopped saying "I love you" just because the phrase feels too cliché or overused now.
Look, if you actually love someone and they feel the same way about you, saying those three words should feel incredible every single time. It’s just how it works.
But once you stop saying it.....
Yeah, those kinds of situations.
Or when people just assume you’re going to do something for them, even though they never actually asked.
That kind of stuff drives me absolutely nuts. I try, really, but I only put in the effort when I actually care about the person. Otherwise, my reaction is basically like that guy in a commercial where he walks through the door soaking wet and exhausted, and his wife just looks up and goes, "Wait, did you forget the apples?"
God, I just want to scream... what a mess.
It hurts way more if I just stay quiet and pretend everything is fine.
If I hate someone, I hate them. If I love someone, God help them. Because they’re getting absolutely everything I have to give.
In those moments, I just surrender completely.
Look, I know how to play the game and look out for number one when I need to, but if I actually care about someone—whether I love them, hate them, or feel like punching them—I’m just going to say it straight.
I have this feeling that sometimes I stay quiet just to let things reach a breaking point.
So;
The song is just the intro to the actual topic.
Here’s what I’m getting at:
It's this whole phenomenon of unspoken words. You know, things that feel totally unnecessary to actually say out loud because they should be obvious. Something so clear, yet somehow...
Has it ever happened to you? Where you kept something from someone, or they kept something from you, and it ended up completely wrecking the relationship later on?
Like, "I love you," or "I hate you," or even just "You're really getting on my nerves," because you assumed it was already understood and didn't need to be voiced?
Personally, I'm terrible at body language. My gestures are basically just visual noise; they don't actually mean anything. I'm just not built for those subtle little social games.
Sometimes I'll go digging through my own head trying to find those hidden signs, and then I just end up shooting myself in the foot once I realize what an idiot I was being.

The game is over, so just go, leave me alone,
And I honestly wonder if any of it was even real.
