It honestly feels like the cells are just dying off one by one—I mean, when you consider it's been four years, it’s really not that surprising, is it?...
Now, I've seen all sorts of different battery designs over the years, but I vividly remember one specific model—I think it was an HP—that had this completely integrated, non-removable battery setup. It used those flat cell designs where you actually had to strip the entire laptop down just to get a look at it. Before I finally cracked it open, the casing was bulging weirdly at the seams, and the cells themselves were so swollen and puffy, looking like little pillows, that there was absolutely no way to snap the laptop back together once that battery was inside...

I honestly have no idea how I ended up starting two different threads, and for some reason, I can't even delete my own post?
It’s clearly not holding a charge at all... I did run a BIOS update the other day, but I doubt that’s the culprit here.
I don't really have the time right now to crack it open and inspect the battery, but I don't think it's actually swollen.
If it is truly shot, would it be better to just pull it out entirely? Because right now, if I unplug it for even a split second, the whole thing just dies instantly.

The laptop is about four years old now, but man, it really caught me off guard how fast it died—like, practically overnight! It used to be that if I charged it to 100%, I could easily watch a whole movie or get a few hours of solid work done.

Back on April 1, 2020, the full charge capacity was 35,642 mWh out of a design capacity of 48,000 mWh, but by February 21, 2021, that capacity had plummeted to just 16,722 mWh out of 48,000 mWh during the last charge.

According to the battery care software, my total capacity is currently sitting at 16,800 mWh, which puts the wear level at a whopping 65%.

So, I'm really wondering here: has this thing officially kicked the bucket, or is there still some life left in it for me to squeeze out?

Here’s the workaround I tried to pull off:
With regedit go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Apple Battery Health Modify The CheckSupported

I tried modifying the CheckSupported value by switching it from 1 down to 0.
Then I gave the whole system a quick reboot.
Now, the interface actually lets me pick from those options at the top, but the program itself isn't doing anything—it's basically just sitting there idle without taking effect.
Does anyone know if there's another setting I might have missed, or am I missing a step somewhere?

I actually managed to sort everything out by just deactivating the license and then running through the reactivation process again, and now it’s working perfectly fine! 😛

My Windows 10 Your Windows shows as being fully activated, yet I keep getting hit with this annoying pop-up message over and over again... I've tried running through a few different troubleshooting steps and fixes, but honestly, nothing seems to be working at all.

I’ve got this Dell XPS 15 that’s only about three months old.
The issue I'm running into is that when I first power it up, the screen just goes blank. However, if I give the lid a little nudge or move the display around, the picture pops right back in and everything seems to work perfectly fine—at least until the display turns off or the laptop enters sleep mode. Once it does that, I have to give the screen another little tap or movement to get the image to show up again.
Initially, this was only happening during the initial boot-up, but suddenly, two days ago, it started acting up all the time.

So, I’ve been wrestling with my old eMachines E725 laptop lately, and I’ve run into a bit of a head-scratcher! Every time I power it up, the built-in display just stays stuck on a solid, blank white screen. It’s like looking at a bright, empty canvas instead of my desktop! However, when I plug it into an external monitor, everything looks perfectly fine and the image pops up without any issues at all. Given that the external setup works like a charm, I’m trying to narrow down the culprit—do you think I'm looking at a dead LCD panel, or is it more likely that the internal ribbon cable has finally given up the ghost?

Every single time I try to install a new game or run a software installer, my computer just gives up and restarts itself... it's even happening when I'm simply moving files over to a USB drive! Once the machine finally boots back up, I'm greeted with that dreaded message: "The system has recovered from a serious error."
