Anesthesia, Resuscitation, and ICU: Q&A in Health ·
Also, one more thing on my mind... How is anesthesia going to affect pregnancy in my situation???

Clavicula in Health ·
Alright, let me see if I can breathe some life back into this thread.
Back on November 5th, 2010, I had surgery on my Clavicula (it snapped during a car wreck). For the most part, everything's going fine.
They set the bone using a plate and six screws. I'm supposed to check in with my doctor in about four months to talk about getting them removed. What I really want to know is: am I forced to have them taken out just because the doc says so, or can I decide for myself when I feel ready?

Then again, I had a really bad reaction to general anesthesia. Meanwhile, the girl next to me in the hospital ward got her period the very next day—the nurse even told her the IV fluids would kickstart it...

I had surgery on a broken collarbone back on November 5, 2010, after a car wreck. Right after, I got my period, but it only lasted two days and was super light. On the flip side, my friend's period lasted three weeks—absolutely maddening, seriously.
Does anesthesia affect your cycle? And what about those three blood thinner shots I got? Plus, I was on some antibiotics while staying at the hospital after the surgery.

Speaking of anesthesia—this was my second time going under. I remember the first one (an inguinal hernia repair) went totally fine during recovery. No vomiting at all, just felt incredibly sleepy. But this second one? It felt like a coma. I had general anesthesia (not sure of the exact name), and I remember starting to drift off and babbling nonsense within seconds.😂😂😂Everything was fine during the procedure; I didn't feel a thing and slept like a baby. But once the surgery wrapped up and I woke up later that day, I threw up five times. So now I'm wondering: why was the first surgery fine, but with this collarbone surgery, I puked my guts out? I’m supposed to go back for another procedure this summer to have the screws removed. I'm honestly terrified of the anesthesia. I have a feeling it's gonna be rough.

Also, I heard that anesthesia shortens your lifespan. Is there any truth to that?

Probably just a corn... I dealt with the exact same thing once. Does it hurt if you step on it wrong?
Hit the OBGYN yesterday. Still nothing on the ultrasound, so I’ve gotta head back in on Monday.
Just a heads up, I haven't even done a home test yet. Doc told me I need to wait until Monday morning to do that.
I'm definitely grabbing a Clearblue or an Intim this time. I heard those cheap drugstore ones are super sketchy—my coworker actually had one show a positive, then a negative, then a positive again before it turned out she wasn't even pregnant!

Maybe I just went in too early? If my ovulation timing was right, I should be about 5 weeks along by now. My cousin didn't see anything on her scan until she was 6 weeks.

Everything seems fine, but my period has never been this late before. Usually, it's maybe 2 or 3 weeks tops, once or twice a year. This time, I'm sitting at 36 days late...
James King9 said:Your last period was on the 13th, so it’s been three months now 😲 How did you even wait this long without grabbing a test? I would've already gone out and bought one🤣. Seriously, just run to CVS and grab the cheapest one you can find—it'll show up by this afternoon. And once you're done at the OBGYN, come hang out in the pregnancy group and chill with us, mama😍

Girl, believe me, I held out👍.....two tests totally screwed me over before😲😕 so I told myself I wasn't gonna rush it and would just wait until I could hit the clinic
Unfortunately, I didn't make it today😠, my sister-in-law's kid got sick, but I'm still gonna try to swing by for a test later and let you know. Fingers crossed I'll be at my appointment tomorrow😉😉☕

But seriously, once the panic sets in—and then I start Googling symptoms that sound *exactly* like what I’m going through—it's hard not to spiral. Like, my stomach feels bloated, there’s this weird metallic taste in my mouth, and during my last few cycles, I had zero appetite and felt like food was just getting stuck in my throat. Plus, I’ve been peeing constantly (still am!), and my discharge was acting super weird right before my period—kind of a nasty yellow color. On top of all that, for two out of my last three periods, my breasts started aching a week or two beforehand, which is something I don't ever remember happening. So, how am I supposed to *not* jump straight to pregnancy?
I mean, it sounds totally insane that I’d be pregnant when my periods have always been a steady 6 or 7 days with the usual cramps. And isn't it true that pregnancy bleeding is usually way shorter and lighter?

Still, what kind of statistical anomaly do you have to be to be pregnant without actually having sex, especially after three periods and a negative test... ugh, I don't even know... or maybe I just picked up some random bug or infection?

Anyway, thanks for all the teasing—honestly, it’s better than just being left hanging with a "maybe."

Look, girl... most people who think they're pregnant basically manifest the symptoms themselves...
Just catching up on what you guys are saying, so I figured I'd jump in.
Heading to my OBGYN today to see if I'm actually pregnant or not... my last period was on January 13th. If there's a baby in there, the doctor should be able to spot it on an ultrasound without even needing blood or urine tests yet.
My husband and I have been married for 10 months, but we've been trying since January. Since this would be our first one, I've been asking my buddies who are pregnant about their symptoms, but none of them felt anything remotely like what I'm going through. For the last three weeks, I've had these weird cramps in my stomach—kind of a scraping sensation—and for the past two days, my head feels heavy and I feel like I might pass out. A couple of days ago, I got really dizzy for a second. No vomiting so far, just some brief bouts of nausea that pass in ten seconds, plus this weird pressure in my chest.

Anyway, hoping I can get at least one real answer before my 4:00 PM appointment...🙂
