I have a question. Since I had to scrap my plans for Zelenkrov in Čepin 😢 because they require at least 160 guests, I’m looking for alternatives. Does anyone know of a nice restaurant in Đakov or somewhere nearby where I could host a wedding? 🤷 Most of those banquet halls are just way too massive for what I need. 🤷
Morgan Scott68 said:Tyler Campbell59, that place near Richmond is called Sweetie! Their pastries are top-tier—they look great and they actually taste amazing too. I heard they’re opening a branch in Dakota, so if you have guests coming over, maybe you won't even have to drive all that way. How do you get there? Just use Google maps! 😁
Thanks. 😉 The wedding isn't until next April, so hopefully they'll have that Dakota location open by then. That would be perfect. 😍 Once they open, I'm definitely going to go pick out a pastry. 🙂
Nicole Hill35 said:Russia is just some small town outside of Richmond. There's this local bakery there called Sweetie.
Thanks for the heads up. 😉
rapiddrifter7-That’s such a shame. That's exactly what I'm looking for—a one-stop shop for hair and makeup. It's way too much of a trek for me to drive all the way to Indianapolis just for a blowout and some glam.
Morgan Scott68, you're my only reliable source for the truth here 😍. Where exactly is this Russia thing? Are we talking about a location, or is it just some local bakery name? 🤷
Joshua Brown2 and GričkaV thanks, ladies. 😉 Honestly, I’m bummed because I really loved that look 😢—exactly my style. I think the hotel Indianapolis is a bit out of my price range, though I am wondering if they allow outside catering. If they do, the math might actually work for me. One thing that's tripping me up, though, is this "Winter Harbor" mentioned at the hotel Indianapolis. Is that just the name of the ballroom, or is it some specific venue where you can host the reception? 🤷
northernhound39 you’re certainly creative 😍, aren't you? What was the main goal for your trip to Canada—just scouting decor, or was there more to it?
Thanks, little butterfly. Jane already sent me her number, so I’ll look into it. Honestly, calling someone from so far away feels a bit daunting. 🤷The idea of them just being a no-show is what really unnerves me. 😲
Now, a quick question for the group: while browsing through some wedding halls in Indianapolis, I stumbled upon the zoo hotel and completely fell in love with their ballroom. It’s stunning, plus it has this view of the Mississippi 😍 (I have a massive soft spot for water and wildlife) and the zoo. ''The space exudes modern luxury, subtle details, and an incomparable elegance''—that description totally sold me. 😍 So, I'm looking for intel. If anyone has any firsthand experience with this place, I’d really appreciate the insight.
Michelle Taylor said:Please, just ask your colleague for the number. If she doesn't have it, send me the link to her profile. I think her last name is Marjanovic, but searching that brings up at least ten different people. I'd rather not play guessing games. 🙂 ...
I'm in the same boat. Send over her number or her profile. 😉
Thanks 😉 Alright, I just took a look. It’s not bad, but if I’m being honest, some parts aren't really my style. 🤷 I do like that it doesn't feel over the top. Shoot me a DM so I can check it out properly. 🙂
silenttiger5 Thanks. I’m on the same page as you, and looking at those photos... it really does look massive 😲. We'd basically be a tiny handful of people in there. 🙄
Morgan Scott68 So, I'm actually a month ahead of you 😍. Thanks for the help 😉. Now that I've seen everything, I'm thinking about booking something over in Tomislav Karamarko. I know you mentioned it felt claustrophobic to you, but honestly, the interior style is almost exactly what I'm looking for.
I have to admit, my top choice was originally Zelenkrov in Chepin, but they have a minimum requirement of 180 guests 😲. (If your guest list is smaller, they still charge you for the full 180). If I could somehow negotiate a deal with them, that's definitely where I'd go. Has anyone here actually dealt with Zelenkrov before?
Man, I think I’m in for some trouble. All these mistakes feel massive right now. I was just scrolling through some older posts, and they’re all saying Nikolin is way too much to handle. (I actually tracked down their website, so I’m going to go deep dive into that now). But honestly, I really dig 🙂. Anyway, thanks for the help so far. I’ll probably end up bugging you about other stuff too, 😍 since you’re from 🤣. Oh, by the way, when’s the big wedding?
Thanks. You were a huge help, obviously. 🙂 Look, I get that the venue is massive, but I’m praying we can scale things down. We aren't going to have more than 100 or 120 people anyway. Honestly, I'd prefer something much more intimate. And one more thing—can I bring my own food but have them prep it exactly how I want? I’m thinking a more custom menu, maybe some stuffed or breaded dishes, rather than the standard wedding fare: soup, roast, coleslaw, and stew. How does the billing work in that scenario? 🤷
Welcome, Morgan Scott68. 👋 I’m actually planning a wedding in Dakota myself. Since I don't live there, trying to pull this whole thing together is becoming a massive headache. To start with, finding a venue is proving to be a nightmare. I really liked Nikolin's place, but they don't even have their own website. 😢 No pricing listed—all I could manage was scrolling through a few photos on Facebook. So, I'm curious, which one did you end up picking? Honestly, I haven't even scratched the surface of what's available 🤷. Any advice would be much appreciated. 😉
Jack Lee5 said:Welcome to the group, Tyler Campbell59 😁 At this stage, your priority should be nailing down a rough guest count, locking in a venue, and securing your photographer and DJ—once those pillars are set, you can actually breathe. If you get the big stuff out of the way now, you won't have to deal with the mountain of smaller details until about six months before the wedding starts piling up on you.
Thanks 🙂. Honestly, I'm stuck waiting on the headcount. My fiancé isn't exactly rushing the process, and since most of the guests are coming from his side, my hands are tied. I guess I have some breathing room, so I can take it ☕ slow for now.
Hey everyone. I just signed up for the new bride-to-be thread, so I figured I’d leave my mark here too 😉. I got the ring 🎉, so consider me officially checked in. The wedding is set for early spring 2013 out in the Midwest (I'm a New Yorker, he's a Midwesterner, and frankly, I have zero interest in some massive, over-the-top blowout 🙂), which gives me plenty of time, but honestly, I haven't the slightest clue where to even start 🤷. How far in advance should I be putting down deposits for a venue or a restaurant? Since we live in Washington, D.C., my first step is scouring the internet before actually heading out to scout locations in person. I'm hoping this group makes things a bit more manageable; right now, I'm flying blind and don't know where to look for anything .
I’m definitely going through with the beta, but I’m holding off until I see if that Medium arrives in the next two weeks or so. I just wanted to scour this thread first to see if anyone else has dealt with a similar headache.
I figured I’d just hold off until my next period before even bothering with a test. Then we'll see. It's not like this is the first time I've let myself get my hopes up 😢 I'm honestly just dreading another disappointment.
Crickets. Not a single response from anyone here. 😢 I check this thread every damn day, but it’s just a ghost town. I was hoping for at least a little bit of encouragement. To add to the update: the white discharge has stopped. If ovulation actually happened, it's clearly over by now. Honestly... I’m feeling pretty low about it all, but I’m not throwing in the towel until 😠 finally arrives.
Hey ladies. 🙂 Look, less than a year ago, I dealt with a similar "issue." And hey, don't blame me for having unprotected sex. 😍 We know the risks; we aren't oblivious to what could happen. (And honestly, part of me wouldn't mind if it did, 😍) But this month, my period showed up on June 14th, three days earlier than usual. It only lasted four days, whereas normally I’m looking at eight or nine. It was lighter, too—barely anything the first day, two days of normal flow, then tapering off by day four. After spiraling through thousands of symptom lists online—including the fact that spotting can actually happen during pregnancy—I started freaking out. For several nights now, I've been getting up to pee constantly. I also have some white discharge, though according to my calendar, it could just be ovulation. Has anyone here been in this exact spot and actually ended up pregnant? 🤷
