Jack Hill10 said:My cycle is seriously like clockwork... I get my period on the exact same day every single month.
I’m gonna run another test with my first pee in the morning, because if I don't, I might actually lose my mind. 🙂

If you’re seriously this suspicious about being pregnant, just go get a beta HCG blood test. It'll cost you maybe $100--$50depending on where you go—but getting it done through blood is the way to go. It gives you the most accurate, definitive answer...

Hopefully that helps at least a little bit. 😉
amberraven7 said:Thanks for the reply. I get that it might be too early to test, but when would be the best time to check for beta levels? P.S.—I’m really not buying the whole "stomach flu" thing—the nausea won't let up, and I’m throwing up at least once a day... 😢 plus, my temperature has been sitting right around 99°F for four days straight?

I actually took a test four days before my period started, and it showed a super faint line—that was in the evening. Then I did another one the next morning, three days before my period was due, and the line was still pretty pale. That same day, I went in for a blood test and the levels were around 5 point something; the next day they doubled, then tripled... so, from what I've dealt with, if you actually know when your period is coming, a test can show a positive about four days out.
Edward Kern3 said:Yeah, that beta test... I guess that’s definitely the most foolproof way to find out for sure. Any idea what the damage is going to be? How much does it cost?

I ended up paying $43 per single withdrawal—so basically, over three days, it came out to 3*$48
Edward Kern3 said:Oh, one more thing I wanted to ask—I just heard someone mention that you can actually ask your doctor to order those routine blood tests... like, just straight up request them? Is that actually a thing?

I’m not really sure which test you’re talking about—if you mean the beta HCG, I couldn't get my doctor to run it, so I have no idea how it works for everyone else. I ended up just paying out of pocket at a private lab for three days straight.
Ryan Kim5 said:So, here’s another one wondering if it’s happening or not 🙂 I only started questioning things today after digging through some early pregnancy symptoms—honestly, it hadn't even crossed my mind that I could be pregnant until now.
Let's walk through the timeline—my boyfriend and I slept together two days after my period ended. No protection. Since it was so soon after my cycle and we hadn't seen each other in ages, we didn't think twice about it. My last period actually lasted quite late this time; usually, it’s four days, but this time it was only two.
About seven days after my period, I dealt with a nasty UTI—stinging, blood in my urine, the whole bit. Since I also had a brutal sore throat at the exact same time, I knocked out an entire course of antibiotics. Once the infections cleared up, I naturally ended up with a yeast infection thanks to the meds.
Just as I finally cleared the yeast infection, something else hit—unbearable breast pain. I've even noticed these tiny blue veins appearing; they feel heavy, and I am just constantly exhausted and sleeping all day. On top of the fact that I don't eat very regularly, I've also noticed I'm getting much hungrier—though I'm still just eating normal three-meal-a-day portions.
My period isn't due for another seven days, but this breast pain has been going on for five.
If I am actually pregnant, this kid is going to be a total hero for surviving all these infections. :P

I don't really know what to tell you regarding whether you are or aren't, I just wanted to say that when I actually got pregnant, my bed became my best friend 🙂 I just wanted to sleep... p.s. we were trying for six months, and every single month I thought I "had symptoms," but when I actually got pregnant, there wasn't a single symptom to speak of—I just knew. I took a test four days before my expected period and the line was so faint I probably needed a microscope to see it, but it was there. 🙂)))
Jose Robinson61 said:I’m honestly terrified I’ll mess this up and end up having to retake the whole course just because of one mistake... I really don't want to screw this up.😢
The instructions are a bit vague to me... it says to remove the cap from the handle and place it over the end of the testing stick. So, does that mean once I take the cap off, I just slide it back onto the end of the stick when I'm finished?
Is that actually what they mean? I'm just worried I'm going to get it wrong...

Just take the cap off, pee on it, and then put the cap back on exactly how it was before—except now there's urine trapped under the cap.
Aaron Garcia36 said:Just wanted to give an update: yesterday, after being five days late, I bought a test intending to take it this morning.
I woke up around 4:00 AM feeling pretty achy, and since I had to use the bathroom anyway, I decided to just do the test. Right as I was finishing, I felt this sharp cramp in my pelvic area and, naturally, started bleeding. Needless to say, the test was negative.

It seems like the flu really knocked me sideways and threw my period completely out of whack.

👎 😢
coastalgull said:Hold off on seeing the OBGYN for a bit. It’s still way too early, and even an ultrasound won't show much right now. You're better off waiting until Monday to get another beta test done to see if those levels are doubling.

I didn't head to my doctor until I was already 7 weeks along. Honestly, I don't think they even like it when people show up this early. 🤷

edit: Congrats! 😉

That’s what I kept telling myself, but honestly, I don't know—I'm not exactly the most rational person about this. I just want to be absolutely certain everything is okay, so I end up spiraling into this whole anxiety thing... which is why I wanted to go now, just to at least confirm the gestational sac is actually developing. 🤷
George Peterson said:So, that puts you at 4 weeks, just like I mentioned. You always count from the first day of your last period. Fingers crossed for you—I really hope everything turns out perfectly fine.

Thanks for the kind words. 😉
George Peterson said:You’re looking at roughly 4 weeks, depending on when your last period started. You should probably get another beta test done in about 3 or 4 days, and definitely make sure to report this result to your OB-GYN.

Check here and take a look at the chart over here

Good luck !!!!!!

My last one was on February 9th.

I probably won't be able to get back to him until Monday—by then I'll have the second set of results anyway, since my brain is pretty much checked out for the day...
BETA= 60,48—so, what does that actually mean? heheh—how far along am I, I guess?
driftingpanther42 said:See, that's exactly what happens—as soon as you start sketching, it gets darker. Congrats!😁

Is it actually possible to still have a chemical pregnancy at this stage, or is that window closed? P.S. Honestly, I couldn't care less about celebrating or anything else.
So, I took a pregnancy test three days before my period was actually due, and there was this faint pink line. I did another one today—the day my period was supposed to start—and the line is definitely darker this time... I couldn't handle the suspense, so I went in for a blood test first thing this morning because the waiting is just killing me. My hCG levels came back over 12... honestly, I’m just terrified of being disappointed. (((((
How high should my beta levels be if I missed my period on February 24th—does that mean tomorrow marks the 15-day point??? p.s. I'm pretty sure that's the date we're looking at, I guess.
coastalgull said:I don't think so. It’s not a super reliable way to figure out how old the pregnancy is since those levels fluctuate so much. You're better off counting the weeks from the first day of your last period. I think someone else already mentioned that up there.
You can also use this calculator: http://www.e-beba.com/trudnoca/prvi-...na-poroda.html

If you aren't sure when your last period was, your doctor will determine the gestational age using an ultrasound.

Honestly, I think I conceived around February 24th—that was my most fertile day, and we had sex right after we hadn't for five days... so I'm assuming it was then, which is why I'm asking 🤣just to see if my math checks out, haha.
Terry Ramos60 said:Does it not explicitly state in the test instructions that even if the line appears faint, it still signifies a pregnancy? 😉

Heh, I get it—it all feels a bit surreal to me too. Honestly, I have this nagging feeling that something might go sideways... maybe it’s just me, though. I guess I’m just a chronic overthinker at heart. 🙄
coastalgull said:You can get your beta levels checked at a clinic like CityMD (right over by the Library of Congress). You just walk in, tell them you need a beta test, give them a blood sample, and you'll have results in about an hour. I think it runs around $160-$57. My OBGYN wouldn't even write me a referral for it, claiming "it's only for women undergoing IVF" 🙄, so I just went through a private lab myself.

Well, based on what I read, I guess I'll just go on my own too, haha. 👍
George Peterson said:If I were in your shoes, I’d just go get a blood beta test done. Honestly, most private labs handle them, and you can usually grab the results within a few hours. I used a lab over by the intersection of Main Street and Washington once, and they had my results sitting in my inbox in about two hours—just make sure you tell them ahead of time that you want the results emailed to you. Good luck, and I'm rooting for a high beta!

Alright, I'll probably head in tomorrow, right on the day I'm expecting my period. I guess... based on the levels, would they be able to tell how far along I might be?
driftingpanther42 said:I was getting nothing but those faint, teasing lines for four days straight. I actually pulled a beta test on day one and just knew I was pregnant, but it wasn't until the fifth test that I finally saw two solid, dark lines.😉😁
If you’ve got an ovulation strip lying around, try peeing on that instead—it gave me two clear lines right away.

My period isn't even due until tomorrow, so I suppose I should probably wait a bit longer—but the thing is, it's NEVER happened before. Like, never. Now, suddenly, I'm seeing both the control line and the positive line on two different tests, two days in a row, and not even first thing in the morning, but in the afternoon.🙄
