I'm not trying to dictate what the official offer looks like, but hey, let's throw in some small change for goodwill if we can afford it.
I’m putting up 250 bucks for those local Palcic fans and another 250 toward our beloved Hajduk Split for the stock buyback, regardless of where this thread goes next.

Honestly, people should just chip in whatever they can for charity (and honestly, a little extra for the Palcic crowd wouldn't hurt either :coffee).

That’s just how things work with Western customs, but unfortunately, we don't really have that kind of culture here.

So, basically, it's just like a messy divorce.

I always knew these guys could be incredibly stubborn once they get a certain idea stuck in their heads, but this one really took the cake and went all out 🙏

Elizabeth Mendoza said:It all kicked off in China, so people immediately jumped to blaming the Chinese, but honestly, who actually knows where this thing really started?

It was likely those Champions League and Europa League matches. By the time things were already spiraling out of control, the domestic leagues—basically sitting somewhere between 5th and 12th place—really just added fuel to the fire.

It definitely started in China. As for how far it spread before anyone noticed, I haven't got a clue, though you hear politicians claiming a massive wave of sick students were flying in from Italy back in January.

Amanda Evans2 said:Look, if you ask me, the pizza at Frankos is top-notch. Sure, it’s expensive and feels a bit elitist, but for an occasional outing, I find it perfectly fine.

Duksa never really did it for me because I'm not a fan of that Roman style; I much prefer Neapolitan, so I usually head to Basta. In my opinion, they offer the best value for your money, though again, that's mainly for people who crave Neapolitan.

Brewbites is alright if you're heading out with the crew to grab a beer and catch a game, but the food is just mediocre for me...

Yeah, I've heard the pizza is amazing, but honestly, I can't stand the vibe of the interior or the massive crowds that constantly swarm the place. I might grab something to go, but it's just not convenient for me. I'll probably give it one shot eventually just because everyone keeps raving about it. 🙂

I tend to avoid Brew because of the owner; the guy was basically running a Hard Rock Cafe without the actual franchise. 🙏
Then he goes and names his pub Brewdog (some British craft thing or whatever) 🙏, also without the franchise, before finally rebranding it to Brewbites. I can already see exactly what kind of guy the owner is.

Amanda Evans2 said:Look, Paul Martinez73, I’m going to have to break it to you: you can pick up everything you just mentioned at Walmart for $3.00
...

I mean, sure, you could technically do that, but I'm positive the meat at Subway isn't exactly the same. Look, I pick up items on sale or cheaper options all the time, but if you're running a high-end burger joint with prices that hit the stratosphere, you actually need to back it up with quality. He’s probably aiming for the snobby crowd, though from what I've seen, there aren't many of those people around there. It’s mostly just hipsters, college students, and the leftists, but we all suck it up because that Italian Burger is actually pretty decent, and let's be honest, we were all twenty once.😁

What really gets me at places like that is when they charge an absolute fortune for a soda; I'll just grab a water and move on to a place that serves actual draft beer later.

Take that place Frank likes so much that everyone swears by—I wouldn't set foot in there because I personally can't stand those kinds of spots; based on the photos, it looks like some fancy lounge version of a tacky nightclub.
When it comes to pizza, whether it's pricey or cheap, I love that Tony Soprano, mob-style vibe, even if it's a little hipster. That Basta place is just way too over-the-top for my taste; the patio is fine and all, but that's just me. Personally, Duksa hits the spot for me, especially since they have decent prices on beer and sparkling water. And honestly, that Purger spot in Tresnjevac is great, not even because of the pizza, but just because being there feels like stepping right back into the nineties.

Paul Martinez73 said:Now I'll have to explain to Amanda Evans2 that there actually is a killer Kebab out there that won't break the bank... $27Basically, food rankings are all the same, especially here where they just throw whatever mystery ground meat they have into a kebab...
Either I'll have to explain to Ziza exactly what you actually know about Kebab quality... or maybe you just don't get it.
A burger just hits different when you make it at home... $8.25Can you give me the breakdown, please? I’m actually really curious to see how you layer everything inside that burger...

So, where and what are you actually picking up for...

Just one pastry...
Just 150 grams of meat...
Just one slice of cheese...
Two tomato slices.
Just one loop of onion...
Just a bowl of green salad...

Needs to be... $8.25

Standard meat portions are usually 200g or more anyway. For beef, I spend about 60 bucks and end up making 4 burgers (homemade, obviously, whereas they give you way more). So, meat $5.00, buns for 3-5 bucks, cheese, onions, sauce ingredients... it works out to about 20 plus per burger.
Now you have to factor in that places like that have prime locations downtown, staff to pay, rent, and all that. Plus, they bake their own buns and use much fancier raw ingredients than I do—like, I’m a sucker for cheddar.
I’ve tried McPherson too, and hey, nothing against them, but you just can't put them in the same sentence as a Sub when we're talking about burger quality.
Look, I get there are snobs who live for the Instagram aesthetic, but I don't think anyone here is really focused on that style. At least that's my impression, so let's just leave the side arguments with Amanda Evans2 and the rest of the crew to their own topics. If we weren't bickering a little, this place would be pretty boring. 😁

Personally, I think Burger is the absolute best, with Subway right behind it. Even when I make a decent burger at home, I’m looking at least 20-$8.25, so I honestly can't complain about paying 50 plus—quality ingredients aren't cheap these days. Honestly, though, Kebab is the one fast food I just can't stand.

But let's not get carried away here; if there were actually a serious threat, half a SWAT squad would have handled it already.

Kesic is top-tier 🙏 unfortunately, we just don't see that kind of stuff around here—or maybe we're lucky? Because our politicians definitely aren't built like that. You actually need the right material to pull this off 😁

Kudos to Kesic, but I wouldn't go swapping our media for theirs if I were you. Trust me, even B92 has turned into absolute garbage over the last few years.

Yeah, true, I’m with you there—just a bunch of GOP lackeys desperate to claw their way back into power. It’s honestly a disgrace to the rest of the veteran community. It’s just like how the left has its own breed of intellectually stunted students pursuing useless degrees for jobs that don't exist. They don't have PTSD and they've got all their limbs intact, but they’re just as conveniently dim-witted and easy to manipulate.

10:13 AM - Mass is happening, but there aren't any believers there. The cops have stepped in to maintain order, standing right at the entrance of the Cathedral, and nobody is allowed inside.

So, how come the police can suddenly step in and enforce order now, when they couldn't do it a few days ago? Since when does the police force get to dictate what happens on private property? 🤷

I don't know why it's so hard for people to wrap their heads around the whole thing happening in front of the Cathedral.
It’s almost like everyone conveniently forgot those veteran protest picnics where the riot squad moved in on them at Markov Square, only for some bearded priest to tuck them away inside St. Mark's Church. Even then, the police were in a bind because, technically, they need a warrant unless they have reasonable suspicion to act.

There was this situation in Belgium where the bureaucracy was trying to deport a migrant family back to Afghanistan, even though they had integrated perfectly and were actually in danger in their home country. Well, Catholic priests stepped up, packed the group into the church, and held services for weeks on end. Priests from all over Belgium and the surrounding areas kept showing up to hold mass continuously until the family's legal status finally got sorted out.

Amanda Evans2 said:Regarding that article Paul Martinez73 posted, someone really needs to hold that jerk accountable for shutting down this restaurant.
I mean, they shut them down because they supposedly didn't meet the minimum requirements for a drive-in—requirements that aren't even clearly defined in the first place. But sure, let’s just shut them down and punish a guy who was actually out there working his tail off.
Personally, I was at that drive-in just last week. They come right out to you wearing masks and gloves and bring the food straight to your car. You don't even have to step foot outside. Their hygiene and social distancing protocols are ten times better than what you see at a McDonald's, where the crowds are absolutely unbearable. Here, a car pulls up every ten minutes because everything is scheduled via pickup.
But fine, let them close.
The inspector makes the call.

I honestly can't wait for one of these places to get shuttered; eventually, someone is going to snap and finally take an inspector like that down a notch...

It's a total Classic—they practice strictness on the little guys just to make sure the big processions on Maui go off without a hitch.
McDonald's gets a pass because they're basically Gavrilovic, but since this is just a small business, they use it as an example to scare everyone else.
I couldn't agree more with the last part.

restlesssurfer97 said:So, those serology tests everyone’s been buzzing about for the last ten days have finally been ordered, and we should actually see them showing up sometime next week. They went ahead and put in an order for 1,000 units.

It’s just been a month of absolutely nothing happening, then suddenly there’s ten days of non-stop talk, then they finally place the order, and now we’re told 1,000 pieces are on the way. 🤣😂🤣

The tests they’re using for these mass screening drives are the ones that detect antibodies, which makes them cheaper to run. They’re quick, sure, but you have to remember they aren't quite as reliable as the other options.
We really should have had those 1,000 units in our hands a month ago.

That’s just enough to test maybe twenty average American towns. Honestly, the funniest part is how they had to consolidate all those local task forces just to manage movement passes because people couldn't even hit up their local pharmacy, grocery store, or post office without issues.
And now, all of a sudden, they find a perfect excuse to slash the number of "unnecessary" local government units.

Once his theory about some massive disease wiping out half the population fell flat, user Paul Martinez73 decided it was time to pivot and start picking fights over legal technicalities instead.
The Samaritans are flying through clubs like purple butterflies.

Same old story, same old nonsense.

Apparently, the common cold supposedly killed 35 seniors and wiped out a hundred times that many jobs.

Paul Martinez73, have you finally crawled out of your little cage, or are you still shaking in your boots over a few droplets?

I’m just assuming that face has finally recovered from getting slapped in the meantime. Honestly, just go buy a mask and you'll be set for the rest of the year. 😉

It’s always hilarious when the people talking about workplaces are the ones who clearly don't grasp the basic concept of private property. 🍿

Of course it was. Unfortunately, when it comes to the Church, it seems like a totally different set of rules applies compared to the rest of us mere mortals. Thank goodness most people actually follow the law, though.

brightpilot6 said:Your entire argument is pure nonsense.

Are you really trying to suggest that I could show up at a Cathedral in the middle of the night and somehow forbid it from being filmed and broadcast on CNN 🤣?

There are thousands of cameras capturing you in public spaces every single day without a videographer ever needing your permission.

And as for filming in shopping malls, surely we can all agree that there are millions of journalistic photos and videos—not to mention private ones—taken in those spaces constantly.

So, I find myself asking once more: who actually barred this reporter from entering in the first place, such that she could even be accused of breaking a rule?

Look, you clearly don't grasp the concept of private property. You absolutely can ban filming for the BBC. For heaven's sake, use your brain.
Try walking into a mall with a professional camera slung over your shoulder and see how fast a security guard comes running over to you.

brightpilot6 said:Did this "authorized official"—whoever that might be—actually prohibit them from entering or filming before it even happened?

https://ibb.co/qMNY1Lf
Are we talking about this specific situation in the photo or just speaking in generalities here? There’s no filming without permission, plain and simple—it's private property. And when it comes to baptisms, everything is handled by prior agreement. The priest is the one calling the shots, so thanks for pointing that out.
The only thing you actually managed to nail in this entire debate is that American laws apply inside the church, too.

brightpilot6 said:What nonsense. A Church is a public space, especially during Mass. It isn't some exclusive club restricted to a select few; it’s open to everyone. Would you demand special permission just to walk into a shopping mall while its doors are open? That is essentially what this argument about unauthorized entry onto private property or disturbing a home or business boils down to.

Regarding the filming, bans on recording don't apply to spaces that are publicly accessible in this manner. Furthermore, even if such a rule existed, for filming to constitute a criminal offense, there would have to be an actual violation of privacy. I fail to see whose privacy is being compromised by filming someone arriving at a Church—after all, anyone walking by can see it anyway, can they not?

And yes, I am quite certain that everyone attending any Mass that has been recorded in the past has already given their implied consent.🤣

Pure nonsense. A church isn't a public town square. And yes, I absolutely can bar you from entering a shopping mall. Go ahead, try walking into a mall with a camera and let me know how that works out for you. Why on earth would anyone give their consent to be filmed when they chose to show up at a location voluntarily? Good grief, I'm shocked and appalled that someone might discover today that priests actually set the rules of conduct inside a church. 🙂
