I don't trust anyone anymore... in Psychology ·
ironrider11 said:Look, I believe in people too. I think it's possible to find some good in them, but when you're naive, you get hit hard. I've screwed myself over so many times by believing in possibilities that work for me but somehow don't work for them... I keep wondering why things seem doable on my end, but for them, it's a different story. Instead of them playing me, I'm usually just out here screwing myself over...😵

So, what specific possibilities were you banking on that others didn't see? 🍿

I might show up, but I’ll probably just be useless as hell.

Edit: You know what? Fine. I'm coming after all.

You really should make an appearance... 🙂

Kyle Miller3 said:What, you just gonna sit there and rot at home? Come out here and talk some sense—let’s get those demons out into the sunlight before they take over. Honestly, screw them. 🙂

I’ve been telling everyone this since the day I first joined Psychic... 🥳

I'm always down to vote.🐔

Larry Lewis said:Thanks, everyone!

I’ll try my best to make it out—though, honestly, life being what it is, I can't make any hard promises just yet. You guys really are a top-tier crew!

🙂

Come on, who else is showing up tomorrow? 🙂

Larry Lewis said:Hey everyone, I’m honestly on the fence about coming to the get-together tonight—so much has gone sideways for me lately that I wouldn't want to bring the whole mood down.
I actually managed to screw things up at a local bank branch earlier today, and frankly, I can't even begin to describe the mess I made... they ended up calling
the insurance company, but I'm fine now. Look, I don't regret the outcome, but I shouldn't have done it that way—it's just that I was pushed, and I have zero tolerance for being provoked like that.
I realize there were more civilized ways to handle the situation, but once my temper flares, there's no stopping it. Besides, people out there are such spineless pushovers—they try to act tough, but
the second they realize you're a bit more unhinged—or just more formidable than they expected—they suddenly go dead silent. Again, I'm not proud of it, but I refuse to let anyone push me around.

That's why I'd rather stay away; I wouldn't want to end up picking a fight with one of you or saying something I might regret in the heat of the moment.

Anyway, have a blast without me and have a drink on my behalf.😉

I hope our talk yesterday helped a little bit. Try to get some running in, take those walks, 🙂 and keep eating those nuts. 🧐

Hang in there, man! 🙂
We’re really hoping you’re feeling better by tomorrow so you can swing by for a much-needed mood boost. From what I can tell, we've got two guitars and one vocalist (Anna), so the vibes should be pretty solid.

As far as I know, the crew showing up tomorrow includes: Kyle Miller3, restlesstiger49, Anna, Carl Rivera43, Jeffrey Ramos4, and hopefully Altec too.

Of course, everyone else is more than welcome to join if they feel like dropping in.

We'll be meeting at 5:30 PM at Central Park near the weather station.

See you all there!!!!!

Maya also mentioned she might stop by.
By the way, looks like we'll have plenty of voices. 🙂🤣

restlesstiger49 said:Exactly as I stated in my signature.😁 👍 🤣

Come on, both of you bring your guitars over... let's see whose actually sounds better.😒
Mine is definitely the best... 🙂😬🤣

We could meet up somewhere nearby for a chill walk, or head up toward the zoo for some snacks that are half the price, or maybe hit Millennium Park... or better yet, let's meet near that one spot where they measure everything under the sun—that way we're halfway between everything and convenient for the people arriving by train!

Wait, what "weird landmark" that measures everything? 🤔

Don't put off until tomorrow what we can get done today... 🧐

Anyway, I think Millennium Park works for everyone (at least this time around). Could you all let me know if meeting up at 5:30 PM near the weather station (oh memories ...) works for you? Or would you prefer something earlier or later?
Personally, I'm flexible since my work schedule isn't tied down right now.

I'll just go with whatever the group decides 🙂

The main thing is that people actually show up and don't flake on hanging out 🧐

when you're actually traveling 31 miles then it really isn't 😁

I'll be hanging out near the entrance around 5:40 PM 🎉 (if you don't see me, assume I just melted under the sun on my way there 😂)...

I mean, any setting that makes sex feel incredible is a win in my book 🤷🥳😂 But seriously... 😬 It’s about the lighting, being out in nature, that sense of pure freedom, having all those ways to express yourself—the colors, the sounds, the scents..... 🙂

What's the point when you've got an alpha female waiting at home 😍
Though I did notice she keeps turning her head for German Shepherds 🤣

Let's all just get pets 👋😂

Well, you’d better give me some heads-up first... I need time to get my little dog all dolled up, dye her graying muzzle, and give her nails a fresh manicure 😒 😂

Lawrence Bailey77 said:What lights exactly are we talking about? I suppose it depends on what you're actually looking at, though I suspect I might be missing some context here. Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. It’s all a bit vague, isn't it? ☕ What exactly is the consequence of thought, or rather, the act of thinking itself? It is a question that seems simple on the surface, yet I suspect the answer is far more convoluted than most would care to admit. One might assume that thinking leads directly to action, but I find that often, the deeper one delves into contemplation, the more paralyzed one becomes. It is a bit like staring too long at a flickering neon sign in downtown Chicago; eventually, you lose track of the street around you and become trapped in the rhythm of the light. Perhaps the true consequence is merely a heightened sense of awareness—a weight, if you will. To think is to invite complexity into an otherwise manageable existence. I suppose there is a certain exhaustion that comes with it, a weary realization that once you have analyzed a situation, you can never truly go back to the blissful ignorance of those who simply react without pause. Maybe that is the price we pay. Or maybe I am just being overly cynical.

Lawrence Bailey77:
Jeffrey Ramos4 I suppose I should begin by noting that what was previously stated by Lawrence Bailey77 carries a certain weight, though whether that weight is substantive or merely ornamental remains to be seen. It is quite difficult to say, really. One might be inclined to agree, but then again, one must account for the inherent complexities of the situation, which seem to multiply the longer one contemplates them. Perhaps it is best to approach this with a degree of skepticism. After all, certainty is often just a polite mask for ignorance.
Perhaps we shouldn't be quite so quick to embrace such a pessimistic outlook. I suppose there is a certain merit to caution, but one might argue that dwelling exclusively on the negative isn't always the most productive way to approach things. Maybe, just maybe, a bit more optimism wouldn't hurt. 🙂🙂😬
I suppose one might wonder what exactly is being framed as negative here. I can't say for certain without more context, but I guess there is always some underlying pessimism to be found if you look hard enough. Maybe it’s just the general sense of disillusionment that seems to permeate everything these days. It’s a bit difficult to pin down, really. 😛

I suppose what people fail to grasp is that reality doesn't care about our preferences. It simply exists. The truth is, if you find yourself constantly at odds with how things actually are, it isn't because the world is failing to meet your standards; it’s because you are refusing to acknowledge the facts right in front of you. In my estimation, this refusal to accept reality—whether it be the good or the bad—is far more damaging than the actual circumstances themselves. It creates a sort of friction that serves no purpose other than to fuel further discontent. I guess we could say that being unable to face the world as it truly stands only makes everything feel much heavier than it needs to be.

There are plenty of practical, real-world examples out there. But honestly, all this fluff about sunshine and butterflies? It doesn't actually save anyone. It just serves to lull frightened children and their rather impotent parents into a false sense of security. I guess it's just a way to pass the time, though it changes nothing. ☕

I suppose... if we are going to engage in criticism, we ought to do so with some semblance of fairness. It seems only right that we apply the same scrutiny to everyone involved, rather than picking and choosing our targets. Perhaps we should aim for a bit more balance in our critiques, though I suspect that might be asking too much of people. 😈

I suppose I am still sitting here, waiting for some semblance of a solution... though at this point, it feels like we’re just moving from one rigid dogma to the next, and then perhaps to another minor little dogma after that. It’s all quite exhausting, really. ☕

I agree, I'm just trying to stay optimistic regarding the human race. There's always hope that we can fix things in this world. 🧐
Maybe a meteor hits us or aliens show up and wipe us out, but that seems unlikely since humans will probably finish themselves off first. 🤦🤣
