Just Zagor, just Dylan, just Nathan, just Lazarus.

I mean, I’ll occasionally find myself scrolling through some old issues when I swing by my parents' place a few times a year, but I wouldn't go so far as to say this whole genre is just for kids.🤷

Honestly, American superheroes have never really done it for me. Once they get superpowers, the tension just evaporates. It’s gone.

Give me Zagor with his tomahawk and a thick cigar any day.☕

Man, this is just... lol 😂 if they had actually just stepped up and walked away for a few months—maybe even a year—this whole tragedy might've been avoided.

Only 30 years old? Man, I guess there's still a slim chance he slips on a toothbrush in prison somewhere. 88 times 👋

Anyone who actually thinks they can rely on the government to cut them a retirement check forty years from now is in for a massive, soul-crushing reality check—and I’m trying to be polite here 😁

Smart people are already figuring out how to take care of their own old age right now.

Honestly, if you take all of Eastern Europe—minus Ukraine, Belarus, and Bulgaria—you’re looking at a massive fleet of planes just waiting for us to pick them up.

And trust me, they will be. I’ll give it ten years max.😁

Man, we really gotta protect this country like it’s the last drop of water in the desert. 😍

Look, the government actually has enough cash to fund the stuff that keeps this country running smoothly. They’re sitting on a mountain of money.

Instead of dumping $33 per person—and I'm just making that number up—into the pockets of Amtrak, they should be pouring it into healthcare, schools, the police, or firefighters. Honestly, just give it to whoever makes the country actually function. I’m not out here begging for a tax cut just so I can pocket an extra few bucks; if that money goes toward essential services, fine by me. But spending it on railroads, massive fuel subsidies, or pro athletes? Give me a break. Let them automate the toll booths on the interstate instead of having some guy sitting there collecting pennies all shift, and so on and so forth.

But since we all know they aren't going to fix any of that, they might as well just leave $33 to me. I'll drink it, eat it, smoke it, whatever. It's mine, and I'll do what I want with it.

ruggedjackal46 said:Sure, but if you take that power away, it doesn't just vanish into thin air. It has to go somewhere. Who gets it?

Look at how Mamić built an entire empire using taxpayer money, leveraging ties to both local and national politics alongside the sheer incompetence of inefficient government agencies. 🤷 A club with finances comparable to a small startup wouldn't stand a chance in a true free market without the blind, corrupt patronage of the city and the state propping it up just like it is now.

Alright, let's say public entities stop funding soccer and LA Galaxy becomes a standard corporation. What actually happens next?

In my view, this "general privatization" being pushed is specifically about reducing political patronage and minimizing influence over various sectors of business and daily life as much as possible.

Some higher authority—whether public or private, held by a community or an individual—is always going to exert influence over different spheres of business and living. In other words, our lives will always be politicized, whether those decisions are made in Congress or on the board of directors at Walmart. The only real question is: who gets to pull the strings?

It either pulls its own weight or goes belly up. There isn't a Plan B.🤷

The less the government gets involved, the better ☕ everything else is just pure nonsense

Now we’ve got this whole saga about bailing out General Dynamics. I feel like I’ve lived this before—honestly, I can already see how this plays out. We’ll be right back here looking at another massive bailout in five years. 👋

ironpanther5 said:Since we’re already talking about the upcoming elections, I have to point out that this specific moment from the debate was actually a massive turning point back during the Obama vs. Romney era. Unlike McCain, who just couldn't quite get his footing, Mitt was actually within striking distance until the mainstream media decided to loop this exact clip on a continuous cycle and basically assassinated his campaign. So, please, go ahead and enjoy all that condescending leftist lecturing; he shut them down so hard it felt like watching the Cold War end in real-time—Russia can kiss my ass 🙏

Yeah, seriously. The liberal media in the States basically took out McCain and Romney—they wouldn't even give them room to breathe, just totally screwed them over. And we're talking about one guy who was a literal war hero and survived a POW camp.

Then Trump comes flying in 🤣 and they couldn't do a damn thing to him because honestly? It didn't matter what they said, nobody gave a single crap about their narrative anymore. 🤣

I mean, back in the day, India was probably the richest prize any European nation ever laid eyes on, but the British played it smart. They didn't try to micromanage everything with a massive standing army or shove their own people into every single job from the top down. Instead, they just picked a handful of local maharajas, decked them out in gear, and bought off the elite 😁 Let’s be real, India is way too massive for any single European power to actually keep under control—the population there has always been bigger than all of Europe combined.

If you want a deep dive, look up the Dutch East India Company. Seriously, they were basically the world's first true multinational corporation, complete with their own private military, and they were richer than most actual countries 😁 Think of them as if Apple, Microsoft, and ExxonMobil had a baby 😁

ironpanther5 said:Unbelievable, I actually managed to stumble upon the phrase "white Christian" right here in the States; it’s officially gone too far, just shut it all down 🙏
edit: I find it hard to believe that most people advocating for economic liberalization also want to privatize absolutely everything—you know, things like sewage, water systems, or even full-scale privatization of healthcare and public schools. There are always extremists out there, but I highly doubt they're the ones hanging out on this forum.

I used to think this whole crowd blaming "white privilege" was basically just some weird 4chan meme, but man, there are actual generations growing up over here in the States fully convinced it's real. 😁

It’s gonna be one hell of a show when they grow up and finally run headfirst into the new global power players—the Asians. 😁

Look, this isn't even a debate in America because honestly, people here couldn't care less about who's sleeping with whom. You can find five times as many scandals in much wealthier, more developed, more advanced countries as you ever could here.

And I’m struggling to see the point of your post—are you trying to say that different cultures at different points in history consider totally different things to be "normal"? Like, back in Ancient Greece, older men having relations with younger guys was just part of being a gentleman. Fifty years ago in the States, being gay could land you in a federal prison camp, but today, maybe some old lady will give you a dirty look, and in another fifty years? Probably nothing at all. Change doesn't happen overnight, but there is one common thread: wealthier, more progressive societies have always been more open to new ideas, and they always will be.

James Anderson5 said:Germany was never really a major player in the colonial game. Honestly, even the British were probably losing money on North America. I'm curious though, what data are you using to claim that most colonies were unprofitable?

The reality is that being a modern economic powerhouse is incredibly lucrative if you look at the margins foreign banks and telecom giants pull in compared to their initial investments...

They were definitely unprofitable. To get any kind of ROI, you had to dump insane amounts of capital upfront—building out settlements, laying down roads, then railroads later, paying for standing armies or whatever muscle you needed to hold ground. In the end, it was just way easier to just buy the resources😁 for a fraction of the cost.

wiredfalcon2 said:Too bad history has proven you wrong like 892 times already. Economic status has nothing to do with caring about "others." Honestly, you should probably pick up a book on history or anthropology. The folks living across North and South America long before Christians showed up didn't have these massive identity crises over gender and sex; you could pretty much be a woman in a man's body in certain communities without anyone blinking. And yeah, those people didn't know where their next meal was coming from either.

Yeah, sure, they just sacrificed each other whenever they ran out of rain.

God, the white man just ruined everything.

Anthony Jackson2 said:Privatization isn't some magic bullet—it’s not penicillin, and it won't fix society overnight. Look at the private colleges here in the States—can you name one that actually holds its own against a major state university? Not a single one. They all just focus on making it easy to pass—leaking exam questions and lowering standards to turn a profit. But hey, as long as they're private, I guess it's a win. 🙏

Honestly, if you ask me, that one specific school is easily the best college in the country, based on everything my buddies and coworkers who graduated from there have told me.

It’s actually pretty wild how people from places like Sweden or Norway totally flip their mindset once they touch down in warmer, Mediterranean spots—suddenly, they don't give a damn about all the local myths or petty corruption.

And that whole argument claiming the Czech Republic is thriving just because they aren't religious? 🤣 Please. Those folks were already loaded five centuries ago; honestly, they’re just trying to get back to where they used to be. If they hadn't dealt with that whole Communist era mess, they'd be sitting right up there with the British.

Setting aside all the environmental panic-mongering, the reality is that ecological health actually thrives best in free-market economies. Government intervention tends to fail everywhere, and this field is certainly no exception.

😍 🤣

Honestly, screw all those eco-warriors. Like they’re the only ones who give a damn about the planet? As if the rest of us just sit around worshiping concrete jungles and highways. I’ve spent more time mowing my lawn this week than most of these activists have seen a blade of grass in their entire lives.

And another thing—stick it to them for that "No" policy. Seriously. I’m praying electricity prices skyrocket. If it happens, I'll be right there rolling in the mud, sitting in total darkness, loving every second of it. ☕

Look, we just don't have those massive resources that keep prices sky-high. But honestly? That’s no excuse for being clueless. Look at some of those Gulf states—they're loaded, and they're still absolute bottom-feeders when it comes to actual strategy.

I mean, let's be real: having more cash often means you can actually afford to be smarter, too. I just really hope we can get to that level one day.😁

The Scandinavians were starving while this part of the world was absolutely loaded.

One group struck oil, while the other basically supplied two-thirds of all European demand through copper for a thousand years—yeah, you read that right, a millennium—before just pivoting straight into iron mining. 😁

Honestly, if we’d hit a vein that deep in the Gulf, we wouldn't be feeling this much pain today.
