Hmm... I’m just not sure... 🤷 personally, I’d be looking for an ENT specialist who actually focuses on aesthetics. I have no idea if a standard ENT would even know how to handle this properly—like, whether they could actually fix the hump so it looks halfway decent instead of just a botched job. 🙂
I’ve been scrolling through this forum and, honestly, I’m just floored... 😲 Every time I think I’ve finally found a doctor worth mentioning, the next page is just a wall of people tearing them apart. It’s exhausting. From what I can gather, it seems like people were actually much more satisfied with these specialists, even if they didn't get nearly as much hate: 1) dr. Ivan Raguž (St. Jude) 2) dr. Borić Vladimir (private practice) 3) dr. Ante Munitić (specialty clinic) 4) dr. Stanec (Mayo Clinic) Donna Johnson16, which doctor did you see over at Mayo Clinic? Also, does anyone know if there's any chance these private practitioners will start accepting supplemental insurance coverage? 😢
On another note, could someone please DM me some of your before and after photos? I’d really appreciate it...🙂
Donna Johnson16 said:Where are you located, though? I mean, would you even consider having the surgery in your own backyard? What kind of support can you expect from your primary care physician? If you're dealing with serious breathing issues, all those necessary tests and referrals will be handled through Medicare, and GPs often have established lines of communication with specific specialists or major hospitals—like the Mayo Clinic. It wouldn't hurt to consult them directly; that’s where you really have to start.

I'm based out of Indianapolis. My primary doctor is actually great, and we always manage to work things out regarding referrals and whatnot... but the thing is, I don't really want to do this here in Indianapolis. I haven't heard of anyone getting this done locally, and frankly, I have no desire to be some kind of guinea pig... So, since my main priority is fixing these breathing problems, I could probably run everything through insurance, and then maybe just pay out of pocket for the cosmetic side of things?
Hey everyone, I could really use some guidance and a bit of advice here... So, I’ve finally decided that I want to go through with nose surgery next summer. I broke it when I was a kid, and it healed all wrong—I ended up with this prominent bump that looks like an eagle's beak. Back then, the doctors refused to reset it because I was too young, so the issue just sat there and festered. For the last five years, it's become more than just a cosmetic issue; breathing has become increasingly difficult, and I find myself wheezing quite often. I also get winded easily because I feel like I can't get enough oxygen. Because of that, I'm looking for recommendations for a solid surgeon in Washington, D.C. who can handle both the functional and aesthetic side of things, ideally through a procedure partially covered by Medicare. Where do I even start with gathering medical records and getting referrals? I've been browsing the threads on this topic and saw someone mentioning dr. Stanec over at Mayo Clinic... Thanks in advance... 😉
Zachary Kim3 said:Fine, I'll check out Ana... I already reached out to Victoria, who was mentioned on here before. There were pros and cons. 🙂The band is a huge deal to me 🙂 and so is the photographer... As long as the price is reasonable. Not like this one photographer who tried to charge me 17 bucks per photo $167!!!! 🙂
From the bands I’ve heard personally, or heard people talking about, for roughly $3333 you’ve got The Passage, Still, Quatro, Vigor, Bolero, and Sax... From what I can gather from the discussions on this forum, those are the heavy hitters in that specific price bracket. Most of them should have their own websites where you can dig into their style or listen to some recordings... Personally, The Passage, Vigor, and Sax stood out to me the most. 🙂 As for photographers, I don't have much experience there, but my cousin recently used Mark (http://mark.org/) and I thought his work was excellent. The photos they took were really high quality. I'm not sure exactly what he charges, but I'd bet he isn't asking for more than $3333..XD
Hey there, Zachary Kim3... 😉 I’m still pretty new to all this, but from what I’ve gathered through my circle of friends and reading through the threads here, Ana Coric is supposedly top-tier for makeup. Apparently, she can even come right to your house along with a hairstylist to get you fully ready... As for the music, it really just comes down to your budget and what kind of vibe you’re actually looking for...🙂
I was at a wedding this past Saturday where TS Salaš was playing, and honestly, those guys were incredible.🙂 They play everything from Midwestern classics to coastal hits and local favorites... they absolutely electrified the entire room. I’ve already reached out to them to see if they're available, so now I'm just waiting to hear back.🙂
The venue we initially looked at in Memphis feels a bit out of alignment with our overall logistics... we were really aiming for something closer to the Gunther area since that’s where the church ceremony is happening. We just don't have the desire to trek across half the Midwest just to get to the reception hall... 😁 but I appreciate the suggestion nonetheless. I'll definitely give it some thought...🙂
By the way, does anyone here have experience working with Camellia, that florist over in the Gunther area? I've been browsing their portfolio and their arrangements look stunning... and from what I hear, their pricing is actually quite reasonable. I spotted two gorgeous red rose bouquets for about $100..😍
dustypanther12 said:Nancy, what happened to the rest of the catering options in the area? How large is the wedding guest list? As for the musicians, my friends, I can't recommend them enough—specifically the group from the Bosut area, the Kristals, or that local folk band; even the Midwest ensemble is legendary... though I suppose the guests' energy will vary depending on who shows up.
Hey Joe Biden...😉 I did a little digging into the venues. Apparently, Tena's place is fantastic; everyone raves about it, and the pricing seems to be right in line with Jane's venue... We're looking at roughly 200-250 guests... I should probably check out the Hilton near Indianapolis as well... A few months back, my dear, we were at a wedding in a small town, USA, at the Smith venue... man... it was incredible. 😍 The hall itself is beautiful and has this simple, clean aesthetic, but the service? Honestly, it was the best I've ever experienced. The staff—the guys and girls—were relentless in the best way possible. They were moving through the room all night, swapping out pizza, checking in to see if anyone needed anything, constantly refilling plates with meat, sides, and salads. They were cutting the cake and going table to table to offer it. Even the coffee was top-tier, served with those little cream containers. Total perfection...👍 Unfortunately, it's a bit further away than we'd prefer, so it's likely off the table for us. 😢 They had this jazz band that played incredibly well, but I haven't caught their name yet... I'll let you know when I find out. 😁
Haha, I hear you... it’s definitely way too much for me, too.😁 And honestly, what can you say? Now that they’ve finally made a name for themselves, these guys think they can charge whatever they want.😉 As for $3333, you could find plenty of incredible bands out there—there are thousands of them. You’d be much better off putting that money toward a decent photographer and a wedding venue instead.😍
Hey, just a heads-up, tickets for the Slavonia Band are going for about $2,700 right now... I actually reached out to a buddy of mine who plays drums for them to get the inside scoop. Apparently, they might even hike the price up to around $3,200 starting next year.
Does anyone have any solid band recommendations around $2000... maybe some local groups, anything with a mandolin or folk vibe, or even international acts? Just please, nothing with heavy country music... ☕
Ladies, I am begging for some advice here... My fiancé and I have finally decided to pull the trigger on a wedding for two years from now. Initially, we settled on Crystal Hall in Indianapolis since I’m local (and honestly, I was absolutely floored by the venue and their service there). But then his family started getting philosophical about "tradition," claiming the wedding festivities should take place in the groom's hometown area. So, they're pushing for a venue near Županja instead... 🙂 Well, here's the thing... we recently went to check out Ivanna's venue (owned by Džinić), and I can tell you right now, I wasn't impressed at all. In fact, the service was nothing short of a disaster... 🙂 The hall itself isn't terrible—it's relatively new and the restrooms are actually clean and well-maintained—but the service? Absolute nightmare. They didn't even bring out the appetizers until almost 9:30 PM. Then, at 10:00, they finally served the main course: veal cutlets in hunter sauce and risotto (just three little scoops per person). There were eight of us at our table, and I don't even need to tell you that the food was stone cold. On top of that, the side salad was pathetic. For the second course, they served pork and lamb—and I can't stand lamb—but both were freezing, and the meat looked hideous; it was basically just scraps around the bone covered in heaps of fat with barely any actual meat left. The only decent part was the appetizer spread on the buffet before everything started, but even that was insufficient because people from 8:00 to 8:30 PM cleared it out completely since everyone was starving... By the end of the night, I was still hungry and practically parched because after midnight, finding a waiter to refill the drinks on the tables was impossible. To make matters worse, the coffee was brewed terribly, and if you dared to ask for a second cup, it was a whole ordeal. I am utterly disappointed with that venue; I wouldn't dream of booking them. Now I'm stuck wondering what my other options even are... 🤷 I told my fiancé straight up: if neither of these venues works for us, we are either hosting the wedding in Indy or we aren't having one at all. 😁
