I guess most musicians don't really care for playing at weddings, mostly because the girls don't exactly throw cash at the band like the guys do. It’s just not as lucrative for them. 🙂
I think Douglas is actually out in Australia right now, but honestly, I’d only suggest him if you’re into weird head sculptures or if you want to risk a simple, casual style falling apart before the night is even over. 😁He also loves putting fresh flowers in hair, which just wilts after two hours and looks terrible. In my opinion, he’s totally overrated when it comes to styling; he’s fine for a basic haircut, but a massive no-no for wedding hair. Just my two cents, though. 😉
It just occurred to me that a friend of mine went to him for some light curls, but she ended up going to Studio 54 for makeup, and while her makeup was being finished, they had to redo her hair at the start of the session just to get it straight again.
They were shooting around 1 p.m. that day. Then, once they moved from the church to the hall, they headed over to the park for more shots when the light went down. I’m pretty hard to please, so honestly, when I heard a bot was doing the photography and video, I was skeptical. But after seeing how everything turned out—and since I’m actually getting married myself now—I’d definitely hire them. There were three people handling the photos and video, and they stayed until the very end of the reception.
Yeah, maybe I used the word "normal" too lightly there. My bad. $2.50 Honestly, considering everything they actually got, I think it’s more than fair—especially compared to what happened back in Krizmanica. I know they received that massive classic photo album, plus photos on CDs, videos on DVDs, and I can't even remember how many copies were included. There was also this huge leather-bound book where the images aren't just stuck in, they're actually printed on thick, high-quality pages like a catalog, along with two smaller versions for the parents.
Jane is coming back home soon. I actually attended two weddings this past fall where she was the photographer. Unless something has changed since then, I think her style is pretty much the same. 🤷
To be honest, Krizmanic is terrible in my opinion. He took some good shots for my friends—just three of them, all within a few months of each other—but they only look good because they brought their own creative ideas to the table. Everything else he shot on his own was just typical stuff: group shots of people jumping, the bride flipping the bird, bridesmaids gossiping, or the bride posing by a window with her hands on the curtains. It’s the same tired routine he’s been pushing for years. And just to be clear, I’m talking about Andrew and his son. All of them had major complaints afterward; one friend felt the video was missing so much, though I can't even remember the specifics anymore.
On the flip side, a fourth friend used Leon p, and man, did he surprise me. Between the photos and the portfolio, I was blown away. (The video is fine, everything was captured, but honestly, nobody cares about the video as much as the rest, not even Leon p 😁). I haven't seen a portfolio like that anywhere else in the States. It was a genuine shock. His pricing is fair, especially considering everything you get in the end. Plus, the photos are stunning.
There's a limit, obviously. Bones only develop up to a certain age. I went in for a consultation at 14 because of a deviated septum, and they just told me to come back and talk about surgery once I turned 16. 🤷

Well, just look at how much other medical services cost over there compared to here. Everything is way more affordable in the US. Like, an orthodontic appliance over there can run you about $5,000, whereas here it's maybe 10-$4.00

Honestly, I know at least five or six people who went to him, and they all ended up with that same pointy little nose; you can tell from an airplane that they had surgery. Not to mention the huge crowd of our local celebrities whose noses basically scream Glumicic )) ☕

That’s how it worked for me too—I had the surgery for free, mostly due to breathing issues, and then they just did the aesthetic part along with it. 🙂

Maybe 4-5 days on average, though I guess it varies for everyone. Usually, the first night is in intensive care. There is Wi-Fi. 😉

If you trust that surgeon your family knows, just talk to him; you could probably get it sorted for free. You shouldn't have to wait too long for the surgery, especially if you handle it that way 😉
As for recovery, maybe check a few pages back. Pretty much everyone here has posted about their experience.
My cousin went in for work, and she had this narrow, crooked, kind of potato-shaped nose. Honestly, I don't like what they did to her—or maybe "did" is too strong, because nothing really happened. They just straightened the bump, and that’s it. It still looks totally potato-like, so she's definitely not happy. As for the cost, I'd be guessing, but I assume she paid upwards of $10,000.
I’m struggling to breathe properly, even though my main reason for surgery was just fixing a deviated septum. I’ve seen maybe four or five different specialists here in the States, and I even consulted someone over in the US, but they all basically told me the same thing: my nasal passages are just naturally narrow because of my facial structure, and there isn't much they can do about it. So, I don't know... is that total bullshit or what? 😁
Anyway, I didn't have any issues with scabbing at all.

Her nose is a textbook example of a doctor who clearly cared way too much about her facial proportions and whether the result would look "natural" enough. It’s such a shame, she was gorgeous.
I'm wondering how package delivery works in Washington, D.C. (since I haven't ordered anything here yet—back home in my small town, everything just went to one of the two local post offices, and you always knew which one was the main hub where all the packages landed). If I'm not home and they leave a slip, where am I supposed to go pick up the package? Is it just the nearest post office? I guess that makes sense, but how would I actually know exactly where to go? 🙂 Thanks in advance for the help, hope this isn't too stupid a question. 😁
