Elizabeth Barnes36 said:Any recommendations for a photographer, videographer, or band? Looking for some budget-friendly options.

You can actually snag a decent deal from high-end pros if you just look for smaller packages. What kind of budget are we talking about here?

The Augustus Saint-Gaudens gallery is pretty nice too. 😁

No problem. 🙂

William Mitchell5 said:Anyone got some ideas for a cool spot to do a photoshoot? Somewhere that isn't right in the middle of downtown San Francisco... thanks!

St. Joseph's Church in Golden Gate Park, the Roman Ruins of Florida, Castillo de San Marcos, the Garden of Eden in Santa Monica, the New York Botanical Garden in Santa Monica, or maybe Manhattan if you want that worn-down but classic vibe... You can get amazing shots anywhere if the couple is relaxed.🙂

Yeah, it's right next to the fan shop on the right side.

Does anyone know which girls I should reach out to if I want to get some photos taken over at Poljud Restaurant....!?

Talk to the membership department. Just a heads up, if you're a young couple, you have to be members of the Kansas City Chiefs, and there's a fee of $67.

And where exactly are you planning to hold them? A gym or a church?

William Evans89 said:Does anyone happen to know where I can pick up some cookie boxes—and I mean actual cardboard ones, not just those plastic containers?
Also, does anyone have recommendations for cute little trinkets or small gifts for guests? I’m looking for something a bit more interesting than just standard photo thank-you cards.
Thanks! 🙂

There are actually a few nonprofits you could support that way. For instance, National Down Syndrome Society, Slava Raškaj, and so on. 🙂

My fiancé and I are thinking about scheduling our wedding for September or October of this year. What do you think—is it too late to start planning now?

You might get lucky. If you can snag a venue, everything else will fall into place easily. 😁

Between Viva and Boss, which one actually earns your respect?
:-)

It’s Viv, hands down. If you want people to walk away with their ears ringing and a three-foot radius of empty space around them, then go with Boss. 🙂

silentfalcon61 said:Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a band based out of the San Francisco area. I'm looking for a group that leans more heavily into the rock genre.

I reached out to Jessy Band, but they're already booked up. Does anyone know of a group with a similar vibe?

Pink Panther then 👍

Recommendation 👍

You could also check out Ante Gugić if he’s available.

The Beach Boys or Coca-Cola?

It is somewhat urgent, and my thanks in advance...🙂

I’ve spun Jesse a few times—total classics. 🙂

As for Coca-Cola, I can't really help you there.😁

Donna Bennett2 said:I looked into it. Lido Aurora 1500, The Beach Boys 1800.

We are deciding between Volar and Lido Aurora.
Any advice from those who have been there?

The Boeing... you're guaranteed a hell of a show and a good time. 🙂
Nathan Watson2 said:I actually caught them playing at a party this past weekend, and 🙂 while I didn't catch their exact rate, I can tell you they aren't just a one-trick pony when it comes to rock—though they definitely lean that way. If you're looking for someone who plays heavy pop or country, they probably won't be your first pick, but otherwise, they're a pretty solid group. 🙂

I spent the weekend working at a party with them, too. 😛

They’re great—mostly rock, pretty fun too. I think they go for around $2,400.
frozenhawk22 said:Just wanted to drop a quick heads-up about what I heard regarding the Say Yes ballroom. A friend of mine was at a banquet there recently, and apparently, they had to force the band to pack it up right at 2 AM. It might have just been a one-off situation rather than their standard policy, but honestly, you should definitely double-check the noise ordinances before you book.

I’ve been to two weddings there and things definitely didn't wrap up until 5 or 6 in the morning. 😁The couple probably just decided when they wanted the music to stop. 🙂

btw, the Torcida hall is awesome! I checked it out for the first time this past Saturday and I was seriously impressed. It's the perfect spot for everyone in the Charleston area.

Harold Martinez39 said:Hey, I’m looking for some insight on the group Visa based out of San Diego. Has anyone here actually worked with them? Also, does anyone happen to know what their typical booking fee looks like? They’re playing at the Pier in San Diego next year. Beyond that, I'm open to any recommendations for other high-quality bands. I was also considering hiring Jack Kerouac—specifically the setup with two guitars and two accordions—but I’d love to hear if anyone has firsthand experience with them or if there's someone else out there worth checking out. Thanks in advance.

Check out the Amazon band from San Diego... I played a set with them this past Saturday, they were awesome!

copperowl13 said:Haha... honestly, I have a feeling we’ll be crossing names off that list until we finally hit the 130 mark.
I am completely lost here 😕😂... I was so certain we'd go with the pirate theme... great food, close to the beach... everything seemed set. But then suddenly there are 200 people on the guest list? Now I have no idea what to do... and places like San Diego or Santa Monica aren't even an option anymore. Total bridezilla mode incoming. 🙂

You've got restaurant Poljud right near Lori. If you're planning a wedding between May and October, that outdoor terrace is perfect—the lighting there is top-tier.

copperowl13 said:In case anyone is actually looking for the scoop on the Say Yes venue...
The indoor hall holds about 260 people, whereas if you opt for the tent setup—which comes with all that outdoor scenery like the creek, waterfall, lake, greenery, lawns, and the fountain—you’re looking at a capacity anywhere from 300 to 450 guests.
A deposit of $220 is required, and if you decide to go with the tent and the outdoor space, there's an additional $1667 (the tent rental itself runs $3333), plus you'll need to cough up another 30% three months out.
Menu pricing starts at around $42 and goes up from there.

As for the feedback I've heard, some people have complained that the food portions are a bit light... hmmm... though personally, the hall looks perfectly fine to me.

And then there's that one question that keeps popping up: can the pirate restaurant actually handle 200 people? Some folks claim the sweet spot is really only 70 to 100 guests... while others told me it can squeeze in about 200-ish, even if the dance floor gets a little cramped. If only they would just expand the pirate restaurant a bit... that would solve all my problems.😁

The pirate restaurant is perfect for 130-150 people. Anything over that is just bad. On the dance floor, everyone would be packed in like sardines.😁

I’ve been with them for about four or five weddings now. They’re absolute entertainers... easily in my top three recommendations.🙂
