Frank Wells5 said:Hey ladies, I could use a little guidance here. Does anyone have a sense of how many photos typically end up in those digital albums included in a photographer's package? I’ve currently got about 250 shots sitting in one single album, and that’s the extent of it. Apparently, everything else is tucked away on a CD, and they’re asking a rather steep price to get my hands on them. I’m feeling a bit stuck on how to handle this—any advice would be much appreciated.

Look, is it more important to have 16 different albums and books filled with 1,000 mediocre shots, or just one single album with 250 amazing ones? When you're shopping for a photographer, look at their actual portfolio, not how many albums they can sell you. Quality is everything, and once the day is over, there's no fixing bad photos.

If you actually have good shots, it's easy enough to just buy an album later and get them printed yourself. 🙂

P. S. An album with 200 photos is plenty to tell the whole story of your wedding.

fadedbear23 said:Hey girls... guys... I don't really feel like scrolling through all these pages right now, so could you maybe help me out with something? Does anyone actually know anything about Jessie Bend? I'm not from San Francisco, so I'm kind of out of the loop here, and there's basically zero info online—plus everyone I ask seems to have no clue who they are. They happen to be free on our date, so that's why we were even looking at them... thanks much

They sound awesome. Great vocals, total rockers. If I were getting married, they'd be my first choice. Highly recommend. 🙂

I was expecting a number, but not *that* high... haha..
Gonna double check the math.....

Just looking for something outdoors—like a terrace or a courtyard.

I think you're looking at the daily rental fee for the Getty Center $6667 for just one day. You should also check out the outdoor VIP deck at the Radisson, or maybe Benedikt Restaurant if you're planning a smaller wedding.

Those "old timers" 🙂 always put on a hell of a show. They're great musicians and the parties are always top-tier.
Terry Taylor8 said:Hey ladies,

I’m looking for some serious advice regarding photographers in San Diego. We have a wedding coming up this summer, and right now we’re torn between choosing Lawrence or Atlantic Photo Studio. If anyone here has had actual experience with either one—better experiences, even—please, do let me know. Also, just to be completely transparent, we ended up booking the Margarita venue strictly because it was available on our date, though I can't say I'm particularly thrilled with the choice; it feels a bit cramped and isn't exactly the most beautifully maintained spot, but if the service turns out to be top-notch, I suppose everything else becomes secondary. Or so I hope. So, if any of you have dealt with Margarita or these specific photographers before, you would truly be doing me a massive favor by helping me clear this up. 🙂

Honestly, just find a photographer from San Francisco or maybe a freelancer. You'll get way more quality options, and some won't even charge you extra for travel costs.

graniteskipper48 said:I haven't heard of him... I just saw he had a Facebook profile so I sent a friend request and checked it out... thanks. 🙂 Did he take your photos, or what?

No... That’s a colleague of mine who, in my opinion, is hands down the best at blending documentary style with posing.

graniteskipper48 said:Spontaneous photos are important to me, but a full photo session is too. The issue is that, except for Ivica Matić, who is a bit pricey, nobody I've looked at so far balances both equally well. So, I guess I'm still in the phase of searching and deciding which of those two things matters more to me... though obviously, I'm not the only one whose opinion counts, my boyfriend is involved too—which is why there are different names in the post.

Maybe try Studio Julia? 🙂

frozenhawk22 said:Hey, does anyone know which of these lighting setups is actually the best: Adobe, Semper Fi, Red Rock, or Netflix?
I know Adobe is the priciest option, but I'm not sure if that price gap actually translates to a massive difference in the lighting quality itself.

Mediarent, hands down... maybe Rabbit rock if you're on a budget. 🙂

I assume they sell to individuals too, not just big companies...

Let me know if you run into any issues 😉
Betty Davis93 said:Does anyone know where I can find wholesale flower suppliers in San Francisco or the surrounding area?
I heard there might be some options over at FedEx, and I also came across a company online called Šarić...
Has anyone here actually bought flowers in bulk for making arrangements before?
If you have—how far in advance should I place an order, what are the prices usually like, and is there a minimum amount I have to buy?

Fiori in San Diego 🙂

Tulsa isn't exactly anything special, but Drace is closer to 6.2 miles 😁

Salo actually looks pretty great at first glance 🙂

Terry Howard7 said:Anyone here been to a wedding at the Grand Hyatt lately? I'm trying to get the scoop on the food, the service, and everything else

Now that I’ve finally recovered from Saturday, I can actually write something coherent. My brother got married, so I basically know the drill with all this stuff. 😁

Aside from the fact that the hotel and the hall are pretty old-school, everything was great. The string lighting really helped hide the dated, mid-century interior design. The staff was incredibly polite and on top of things. The tables were fully stocked with everything we needed.

The menu for me was classic. We had cheese, prosciutto, and French bread, followed by white and black risotto, then beef stew with gnocchi, and veal medallions with fries and peas, finishing off with roasted lamb. Honestly, the food was excellent—zero complaints. I’ve been to plenty of banquet halls and hotels, but this was genuinely top-notch.

They added dessert platters for about $1 per person, so the total came out to $36 per head.

It’s also a big plus that the hotel offers very affordable rooms, so out-of-town guests have a place to crash, and obviously, those who had one too many drinks don't have to worry about the drive.

Anyway, highly recommended!

Jamie Allen4 said:Hello, I could use some guidance 🙂 I have attempted to follow every detail in your previous discussions, but keeping up with everything hasn't been particularly easy, so I decided to simply pose my own question... I am looking for recommendations for an event space in San Francisco capable of accommodating 150 to 200 guests, ideally situated right on the waterfront or at least in close proximity to the ocean. I am searching for a venue that offers a reasonable balance of price and quality :P Thank you very much for any feedback; any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

Pirate, even then, a 150-person limit is more realistic there.🙂

Thomas Cruz9 said:The top tier is priced at 2,000 euros... what has your experience been like with them? Thanks, everyone.

They're great! If you've got that kind of budget, you also have Best Buy, Pink Panther, Spam, or Jessie...

Just give them a call to see if they're available, work out the details, and go listen to them play at some wedding. Simple as that. 🙂

We’re stuck in this total deadlock over which band to book—Verizon or maybe an Uber-2200 Lyft-2500 type vibe?
The price gap isn't even that big, it's just that I can't make up my mind. Everyone seems to have a different opinion...

Must be nice having such cute problems 🙂

Verizon is a bit better and more seasoned, but honestly, you really can't go wrong with either one!

Noah Wright4 said:Jessie!

They're a much more polished, well-rounded band. Musically and vocally, they're top-tier.

Barbary are fine if you just want a show, but otherwise, they're pretty bad.

Sam Grant3 said:I don't think I could quite agree with that...

Anyway, I'm totally sick of this debate. You guys can go listen to how "bad" Jesse actually is. 😉

I swear I dreamed about reviewing the food at Las Vegas... Well, after tonight, I’ve gotta say there hasn't been any drop in quality whatsoever. The portions are huge and actually taste good, they're quick with refills, and the buffet spread almost always includes two different types of cheese and some decent deli meats ready to go. You don't even have to flag down the servers. They're on point and super attentive. As soon as you finish a drink, a fresh one is right there.
Michael Reed4 said:Hey, I need some urgent advice on which band to book... Ivica Bago is asking for 2000 dollars, Viva wants 2500, dice 1500 euro is at 1500, and Volar band is charging 1600. I have to make a call in a day or two, so if anyone here has actually seen any of these guys perform at a party, please give me a recommendation or some honest feedback. I REALLY need this ASAP. Thanks 🙂

Viva is number one, hands down. They’re worth every single cent. Volar is great too—Darko really knows how to put on a show and set the mood—but I don't think they're quite a complete band yet. If you've got the cash, just go see Viva. You won't regret it. 😁

Regarding the layout at Barbary, the stage is a bit smaller than what you’ll find in other clubs, but honestly, just assume a third of the crowd will be camped out right there. We haven't really had people complaining about overcrowding yet. Most of the time, that area stays pretty packed, and frankly, I’d much rather see a full room than one that looks half-empty. 🙂
