You probably have at least one friend who just posted some "mind-blowing" prediction on their feed about how the Simpsons somehow called Trump’s victory over a decade ago.

Basically, there's this clip of Donald Trump walking down an escalator and waving to a massive crowd, which looks eerily similar to a scene from an episode aired 15 years later.

The catch? It wasn't actually from an episode back in 2000—it was from 2015. You know, the exact same year Trump actually did the whole escalator thing in real life.

Doesn't stop people from spinning a thousand wild conspiracy theories, though. Some YouTube video of it already pulled in over two million views.

Then you've got that other scene with the electoral map that supposedly mirrors the 2016 results, but that actually had nothing to do with Trump; it featured Mitt Romney from his 2012 run.

People always bring up the "Futurama" style vibe of the 2000 episode where they joked about Trump winning, but calling it a "prediction" is a huge stretch. He was already talking about running for office a year before that, so it was just a media circus that the writers decided to poke fun at.

And yet, this is what everyone's obsessing over.🤦

it used to be Marxism, now it’s just religious studies

they’ll dismantle the whole family unit just to squeeze in two hours of Sunday school per week🤦

Honestly, if even 5,000 pissed-off parents showed up at the State Capitol protesting religious ed in schools, maybe—just maybe—the government would actually do something. Until then? Total radio silence.

Seriously, why hasn't anyone filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court about this yet?

The majority voted for the Republican Party, so the Republican Party is running things....
The majority identified as Catholic, so we’re a Catholic nation.....

Besides, people have choices.... nobody is forcing anyone to be Catholic or show up to Sunday school.....

Go ahead, try to name one single country where religion and politics aren't completely intertwined.....

Like Sweden, Canada, Norway, Germany, or France (they don't even have religious education in schools)....

At this one high school (not saying which city, but whatever), kids are ditching religion class for ethics in droves at the end of freshman year. It’s happening on such a massive scale that we actually have to start turning people away because there isn't enough physical space in the classrooms to fit them all.

It’s pretty obvious the religious curriculum is totally failing to connect with them.

And don't even get me started on the local Bishop's suggestion. He actually proposed that the high school should hand over a dedicated room just so students would have a private spot for confession. 🤦

Naturally, management shot that idea down immediately.

It's the exact same cycle... we just keep voting for the Republican Party or the Democratic Party on loop, everyone complains, but then they go out and vote for them anyway. It’s ridiculous.

Look, even the Nazis took power legally through elections back in '33 because that's what the majority decided at the time.

If it wasn't for Mark, we wouldn't have had same-sex marriage in America, all because "the masses" supposedly spoke up.

Where exactly did this massive group of people decide in '91 that they wanted religious studies in schools? Was there even a national referendum on that? I don't think so.

Look, I don't see any reason to go out there and start a damn riot against some other country's laws or their religion if it isn't our business. Why would I fight against how they run their own setup over there when we've got enough going on right here in America?

the majority isn't always right

but you don't get to lecture anyone else

If the US Constitution says the separation of church and state is a thing, then it's a thing. Religion stays out of public schools, period.

Works for me since I'm Catholic... as for everyone else who's suddenly annoyed about it, shut up now that you've already made your mark... unless you wanna go change your status.

And what, you're just following Bozanić's orders and living strictly by Church doctrine now?

Solid movie, really high production value. And yeah, I’ll admit, the cheesiness hits a bit hard sometimes, which can be super annoying

But honestly? The sequels (vampire Lestat, Cursed Queen) are absolute GAS.div>

In a democratic society, people get to choose, but the idea that these teachers are somehow above the law is just ridiculous.

Well, if it bothers you that much, maybe just move away? I mean, in a country that is like 90% Catholic, having an elective called religious studies is pretty standard. You're acting way too aggressive, I guess, jumping straight to calling us a failure of a nation.

Nah, according to the last census, it’s more like 86%,

but even if only 10% actually live out the Catholic faith, that’s still plenty. If you want a real test of how many Catholics there actually are, look at church taxes like they have in >. See how fast Americans would bail then.
so stop bragging about "90% of Americans"—you can think whatever you want. They might be Catholic, but they're out partying, drinking, and cheating before marriage...

So why does religion class get two hours a week in elementary school but then gets cut down to just one in high school?

The Constitution literally says church and state are separate, yet they've got religious ed in public schools—it just goes to show that America is a total joke of a country.

Religious studies finally hit the public school curriculum back in '91 or '92

Before that, you could only take it through private parochial schools

It actually just popped into my head—a friend of mine was telling me (our kids go to the same school, just different first grade classes) that she absolutely lost it the other day. Turns out her daughter wasn't even going to the library with the teacher like they agreed during those two hours of religious ed. Instead, the teacher just had her sit there listening to...

...Islamic studies.
🤦

Absolute peak!! 🙏 😂

Ante Pađen is a teacher over at Vrban Elementary School. He’s just one soldier in the massive army of American teachers out there grinding it out for peanuts. Look, I get it—Pađen probably hates his paycheck, maybe he's pissed about his hourly rate or the crappy working conditions, but honestly, the kids shouldn't have to pay the price for his bad mood...

Now, Andres is the mom of a little girl starting first grade at Vrban Elementary School. She decided her kid isn't sitting through religion class, so per an agreement made with the school, those 45 minutes were supposed to be spent in the library. Well, things went sideways, and that's why she reached out to Pađen.

Here is her full message from Facebook:

To whom it may concern,

I wanted to ask why the kids who don't attend religion class—specifically A.S.A.—are being kept in a classroom during that period? We parents specifically agreed with you and the teacher on the first day of school that our children should be in the library instead. I still want my daughter to be in the library during religion class so she doesn't have to hear even a whisper of the lesson from the next room. Also, is it even legal to leave kids that young completely alone (for 45 minutes) without adult supervision? That's more of a question for the school administration. If we left our kids home alone for 45 minutes, we'd be breaking the law under Family Law. Thanks in advance for the answers. Best regards, J. J. Andres.

She didn't have to wait long for a reply. The teacher's response was basically a surgical strike on exactly how broken our education system is. Here's what he had to say:

Look, you've asked several questions here that are totally uncalled for, and clearly, if you don't know how to phrase things, you should ask someone else. All the kids are in a room that's available while religion or other subjects like German or Computer Lab are happening. The library isn't just for class 1.B; it's for the whole school. As for "passive listening," I didn't realize you were some kind of acoustics expert—this building was put up by New Construction back in '92, so go talk to them. The kids aren't alone because staff members are nearby and will jump in immediately if they hear anything. As for how *you* choose to leave your kids, that's your business, but if you want me to babysit them for 45 minutes, you'll have to pay me for that hour. I'm not a volunteer; I get paid by the hour according to the law. I see you think you're a legal expert since you know all about Family Law, how lovely... All I can say is it's a shame I'm retiring soon, because I could settle all these "uncertainties" through a summary proceeding very elegantly. Ante Pađen

Pađen is nearing retirement. Whether you agree with his attitude or not, the level of literacy coming from such a veteran teacher is just straight-up unacceptable...

holy crap...
