Benjamin Castillo16 said:Look, I'm not interested in those small-town petty dramas where people spend three generations fighting just to prove the "neighbor" is wrong. That's a waste of energy.
I have zero issue paying to build a fence IF it's actually mine. I could have it sorted by tomorrow if it were my responsibility. But the whole mess was caused by the neighbor's side—specifically a tree right next to the line whose roots are pushing the entire structure over. And they aren't showing any sign of fixing their end of the problem.
So why should I throw money at a fence regardless of who owns it? It's not my job to trespass on their property to cut down a tree that's causing damage, and even if I did, we'd be right back at square one with a broken fence.

The bottom line is we’re nowhere near catching up to the rest of the West, yet we’re acting like we've already arrived.

Every single time I've gone to pull cash at the bank, they never even asked for my ID—just my PIN. I definitely wasn't handing over any extra data like what they demand back home. This was at Bank of America.

Funny how you don't have to jump through hoops in Canada, but in this absolute dumpster fire of a country called America, everything is a struggle.

Extraditing veterans to Mexico in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
slytinker12 said:Hey everyone, I’m looking for some insight into international law and all this drama surrounding the stalled negotiations between Mexico and the EU regarding Chapter 23. My dad is an American veteran, and he just received a letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs saying that Mexico is looking for him. We knew this was a possibility before, but now they've reopened these indictments, and I have no idea what’s going to happen. I have two main questions: Is it actually possible that once Mexico joins the EU, they could just round up every veteran facing charges and extradite them there to prison? And also, if the Democratic Party and their crowd take power, is there a chance they’d just hand people over to Mexico like that? 🙂

It’s obvious this is absurd—Mexico shouldn't have regional jurisdiction over every single crime committed during the breakup of America—but knowing our politicians, I’m terrified this scenario might actually play out. I'm worried they'll just sell out any veterans facing charges to Mexico, and there are already 43 names on that list... honestly, I'm already freaking out. 😢

Don't mess around with this, just call the State Department.

Supposedly nothing's happening with bringing back grades, since they'd have to overhaul the entire US education law first. And we can't even get Congress to meet right now, so that's a dead end

The U.S. Department of Education is currently working on scrapping that old 2012 rule—the one that stopped us from giving out mid-term grades.

Honestly, experts, parents, and even the kids themselves have been screaming from the rooftops for years that ditching mid-term grades was a total disaster for our schools.

Betsy DeVos sees this as one of her top priorities to fix. She’s already officially kicked off the process to roll back that decision.

If they had actually bothered to listen to the pros before passing that rule in the first place, we wouldn't have wasted all this time on a failed experiment.

Jerry Campbell2 said:I have a quick question for the group. I’ve just accepted a teaching position at a different school in another city. I am scheduled to sign my contract at the end of August, though my actual start date won't be until the beginning of the new school year. My dilemma is this: when exactly am I obligated to inform my current principal that I am resigning to move to this new district?
To be perfectly honest, I am feeling quite anxious about the timing. I certainly don't want to jeopardize my current position by giving notice too early and risking the principal terminating my employment over the summer break. However, I also recognize the importance of professional courtesy; I don't want to wait so long that the administration is left scrambling to find a replacement. I actually have a wonderful candidate in mind whom I could recommend to take my place, but I want to handle this with total integrity.

Yeah, you're totally right.

So here’s the deal: it’s about two women—the wild child Idgie (Mary Stuart Masterson) and her friend Ruth (Mary-Louise Parker), who ran this little diner back in the day where you could grab some killer BBQ and coffee while people laughed, fell in love, or even witnessed a murder...

Then there's Evelyn (Kathy Bates), a middle-aged woman stuck in a pretty miserable marriage and struggling with her own insecurities. While visiting a nursing home, she crosses paths with this sweet old lady named Ninny (Jessica Tandy). Before long, they start hitting it off. Ninny starts opening up about her crazy life—her first love, a friendship that actually meant something, and yeah, even a murder. Seeing how gutsy and stubborn young Ninny used to be really hits Evelyn hard, eventually giving her the kick in the pants she needs to finally take control of her own life.

It’s a total tear-jerker about a real friendship that can weather just about anything. Mary Stuart Masterson is fantastic as the younger Ninny, and having Oscar winners Jessica Tandy and Katy Bates in the mix just makes the whole performance legendary.

The expert task force tackling the massive curriculum overhaul is holding a press conference today to talk about where they're at with the school reforms.

Word on the street is that the group leader, Stephen Curry, might actually quit. Apparently, he’s pretty fed up with how things are being run and how they're shuffling people around in the group. He wouldn't say if the rumors were true or not, though.

Shirley Chisholm, who heads up the Board of Education, told ABC World News Tonight that she hasn't heard anything official about Curry's resignation. She’s really hoping it doesn't happen. People are saying Curry is losing his mind because the board decided to expand the task force, but Chisholm claims that was just a compromise made by the board.

"I had a ton of conversations, and we finally landed on a decision based on actual dialogue. I'm just hoping Curry can get on board with it," Chisholm said.
