Isn't 450W cutting it too close for a build like this? I'm running 500W right now and honestly, if you aren't looking at at least 600W, why even bother?

I dig this setup. Though I'd definitely swap to a single 1x8GB stick of RAM.

Regarding the Toshiba drive, check this comparison link here. Toshiba scored an "excellent" rating while Samsung was just "very good." If I walk into a Best Buy and see the Toshiba sitting there, that's what's going straight into my PC over the Samsung.

This rig is just for hitting games every now and then. I’m definitely skipping the overclocking—I don't have the patience to babysit temperatures all day.

I’m not buying into the hype with an Apple SSD. They're basically rookies in this game, whereas Western Digital has been killing it with drives for ages.

So, if I swap out the socket, does everything else still hold up?

Guys, I need help. Seriously.

I’m looking to build a new rig right now, and honestly, money isn't an issue. I was dead set on getting a Samsung SSD, but is it just me, or is nobody actually keeping them in stock lately???🙂I swear, the SanDisk Extreme is such a total rip-off. The price refuses to budge, and it’s driving me insane. I just want my parts to actually work together properly—I'm tired of dropping a fortune on high-end gear only to have it run at like 10% capacity. I need stuff that actually lasts at least five years on Windows without crapping out.

So, this is basically what I was thinking, but I'm not sure if I'm missing anything. Like, should I grab an extra cooler, more RAM, or maybe a bigger case or something?

That old Intel Core i7-3770 is basically a relic at this point. It’s like trying to win a drag race in a rusted-out 90s sedan—it might still run, but don't expect it to keep up with anything modern.
The ASRock Z77 Pro3 (1155) is a total beast. Seriously, this board punches way above its weight class.
SanDisk Extreme 250GB Basic SSD
Western Digital 2TB, 32mb HDD
That old Gigabyte R9 270x with 2GB of DDR5? Total joke. It’s like trying to run a marathon in flip-flops.
Two sticks of 8GB Kingston DDR3 Fury.
That PC Build is a total joke. It's like trying to run a marathon in flip-flops—just completely wrong for the job.
The Zalman Z3 Plus is alright, I guess. It gets the job done if you aren't picky.
LG Optical Drive

Man, I could really use a new monitor right now, but I’m totally lost on which one to grab.
Is this thing gonna sound like a jet engine taking off?

-back pain
Look, there's a huge difference between upper and lower back pain. Upper back issues usually stem from shoulder strain—if you just relax those shoulders, the tension clears up. But the lower back? I’ve noticed with myself and everyone else at my office that if we aren't staying hydrated during the day, the back pain hits hard. I don't know if it's hitting the kidneys or the spine itself, but if you knock back a liter of water over an 8-hour shift, people stop complaining about their backs. 🤷I'm talking about people of all ages here. Is it lack of movement or just plain dehydration? Who knows.

-swollen legs
Can't relate, so I haven't a clue.

-bloating
It's either eating way too much in one sitting or just eating garbage. For me, that cheap office coffee machine was killing me. Once I started brewing my own stuff at home, I was fine. Honestly, getting an intolerance test and doing a clay detox helped a ton. Cutting out the bad coffee and doing a quick detox works because you can't avoid shitty office coffee forever, and those toxins build up after a few months anyway. If you stick to smaller meals, you won't get bloated.
Sitting without back support in Health ·
gentlepuma76 said:I'm not hitting the gym five times a week, and I don't plan to. Plus, there are questions about which exact muscles are being worked—would standard machines even build those specific muscles, or are they just hitting random stuff? Most importantly, what kind of routine (exercises, frequency) actually trains your body to sit upright without needing a backrest?

Look, you shouldn't even be at the gym every single day pounding the same muscle groups, or you'll just burn out and tear yourself apart. You can only go daily if you have a split where you hit different groups every session. Otherwise, 2-3 times a week is the limit.

The gym manager handles goal-oriented programs for you; at the place I used to go, they had everything printed in a huge binder right on the front desk for anyone to check out.

Personally, my favorite machine (can't even remember the name) is for the back; it isolates your legs so you're just working the muscles along your spine while leaning forward toward the floor, maybe hugging a 10lb weight to pull yourself up. After that, you walk like you swallowed a broomstick—you stay super upright, even when sitting. When I was training, I didn't even need a chair with a back because my posture just fixed itself.

Usually, for things like dance, you have to set your body in a way that puts zero stress on your spine—basically keeping your lower back in line with your upper body (hips out, core tucked). You do a lot of work against a wall or a doorframe to keep your lower back flush. That’s how you learn to stand for hours and eventually sit without feeling like garbage. Hopefully, that helps a bit.
Best software for burning video to DVD? in Software ·
That software won't burn discs without converting them first.

Microsoft didn't give me any trouble with my discs, so I don't even want it.
Best software for burning video to DVD? in Software ·
Question: Can anyone point me toward a legit free program—like, something you actually use—that burns AVI files to DVD without converting them to something else? I need it to burn as data, because my DVD player handles those old DivX discs just fine.

DivX is totally broken (some weird bug makes burning DVDs impossible even on the paid versions), my Microsoft subscription expired (and it wouldn't even touch my AVIs, just original DVDs), and searching online is a nightmare because there's tons of info out there but zero clarity on whether the software actually burns AVI files or not. I don't want some shady trial version either; I need actual freeware or open source that just burns AVIs. Nero isn't free.

Has anyone ever heard of this "detox" diet where you just chug olive oil and tea all day long?😲 Sounds like some sketchy way to wreck your liver if you ask me.😢
