Thoughts on Thor: Love and Thunder? in Movies ·
Total garbage... the last Thor movie actually felt like progress, but this one? It feels like two steps backward for the franchise.
Trying to juggle two heavy hitters like a terminal illness and the loss of a child is just too much weight for a flick like this to carry... in the end, it fails on both fronts—it isn’t fun, and it isn't even truly dramatic.

Honestly, I’d probably cut Christian Bale from the film entirely just so the rest of the cast wouldn't look quite so weak by comparison.
Thoughts on the 2015 Cinderella? in Movies ·
I just finished watching it... and man, the cinematography is stunning. It’s got that pure Disney-style romanticism baked right in—the landscapes are gorgeous and all those CGI flourishes are just top-tier. It feels like stepping straight into a high-budget fairy tale.

The problem is, the film itself is a total snooze. We're talking about a story that's been told a thousand times before. There isn't a single twist or any real narrative evolution to keep you on your toes...

But honestly, you just don't see concerts relying on playback anymore...
Playback was such a massive trend back in the nineties...
There isn't a single major global music festival where playing to a track is considered acceptable...
It feels like it’s mostly stuck in certain corners here, specifically at the CMT Music Awards or those localized country festivals over in the North America...

In my view, playback is only an option because listeners expect to hear the exact polished version they recognize from the radio. Most people spend 99% of their time listening to studio recordings rather than live performances. And that brings us right back to the original question: why aren't these artists actually playing live, if the backing tracks are already pre-recorded?

Very few artists can actually deliver a live performance that lives up to the caliber of their studio recordings, but I make it a personal rule: I will never pay for a concert where I know beforehand they’ll just be running a backing track, no matter how spectacular the stage production promises to be.

It’s nothing short of defrauding the end user—the listener, the audience. It’s essentially subsidizing and promoting hollow icons who only exist because we live in a society with skewed priorities. We’ve become a culture that prizes flashy showmanship and physical aesthetics over actual vocal talent.
Frankly, I think it's all just one big scam. ☕

But isn't it an illusion to think society ever held onto "true" values in the first place? It’s hard to even define what those would be... though we all know the oldest profession in the world.

A fake idol? Well, I'm not so sure that having a great voice automatically makes someone a great role model...

Maybe what looks like a scam to you is something else entirely to someone else. It's like any other purchase; there are universal standards for quality, yet people are ultimately driven by their own subjective tastes. Whether it's clothes, cars, or real estate... the entertainment industry operates by those same fickle rules.

I can only find it in my heart to forgive Britney Spears, honestly. She’s been through such an incredibly tragic time... it’s nothing short of a miracle that she’s even standing today. I tend to view her concerts more as a sort of performance art piece rather than a standard show, so I’m not at all surprised that Las Vegas is completely sold out.
R.I.P.D. (2013) Discussion in Movies ·
hands down, the absolute worst movie ever made
Alice in Wonderland (2010) in Movies ·
I found the movie to be quite poor—just this dull, heavy sense of hopelessness from start to finish with absolutely no momentum or payoff. Nicole Kidman is decent enough (though if she’d gone a bit easier on the Botox, she might have actually been able to show some emotion), but even so, there are a few flashes of brilliance that justify her Golden Globe nod. Hopefully, the audience finds a way to love her again so she stops being branded as box office poison. 😁
