Quick and easy fixes: what works best? in Health ·
vividpilot39 said:If you're looking for something all-natural, maybe try sipping on some lemon balm tea a few times a day, or just grab some herbal Persen Forte capsules—they're super easy to find over the counter. Personally, I think sticking to the natural stuff during the day and saving the normabel for right before bed to help you wind down is the way to go.
The real kicker, though, is figuring out what's actually triggering your anxiety. If you can pinpoint the root cause and tackle it head-on, the symptoms usually just fade away on their own. I learned that the hard way!

I'm actually sipping on some tea right now, thanks! I also picked up some 15% CBD, so let's see if that does the trick too.

I’ve got restless legs, aches, dizziness, anxiety, and I just can't focus on anything. Everything went south about two days ago, and honestly, it's even worse than before. I haven't seen my doctor yet, but last time she told me it was just massive stress and prescribed normabel, warning me strictly not to take it for more than 10 days.

I can't make it to an appointment right now since it's Saturday, and man, I haven't slept a wink. Is there any other medication out there—something that isn't addictive—that actually works? What am I supposed to do when things get this bad and you feel totally lost? I'm having these attacks where my heart races, I'm sweating, my legs ache, and they won't stop twitching. I just need to find some relief until Monday so I can finally see my doctor.

Thanks in advance!

Dude, seriously, quit obsessing over all those vitamins and minerals!
Look, when you're getting some lab work done, you want those results to be crystal clear. You don't want them messed up because you were out partying or drinking something that masks what's actually going on. You want the real deal, not some skewed data just because you did something stupid beforehand!

I see you're suggesting I go get an MRI and an EMG!
So, we're looking at RF and Ann.
Did they run an EEG too?

I honestly don't get why someone would bother ordering a rheumatoid factor test—it's a bit of a mystery to me, but hey, to each their own! If you're suspecting rheumatoid arthritis, then yeah, an RF test is usually positive in those cases, whereas it shows up way less often in other autoimmune issues. But look, I'll say it again: there's absolutely nothing wrong with running an RF test. It's not like it's going to hurt anyone!
Look, if you’re already burning through cash on labs, there are way better things to prioritize than just RF. You gotta get those potassium, CK, LDH, and CRP levels checked first to get a real baseline!

I honestly don't get the hype behind all this madness. Just go get your MRI, an EMG, and whatever else they're asking for already! Seriously, stop stalling and just hurry up!

I honestly don't get why everyone treats magnesium like it's some kind of holy grail for fixing muscle cramps.
I totally went through those exact same symptoms when my potassium levels were running low!
It doesn't necessarily mean you're running low on magnesium, potassium, or anything else like that!
Nobody around here has any foresight!

Just go join the Boy Scouts of America!
Why though?
So, the Boy Scouts of America sent me in for some blood work... if they don't include the potassium levels, I might just lose it and demand my money back right there in the lab!

Seriously, stop whining about everything you’re eating!
You’re out here popping massive doses of everything under the sun! It’s literally written right there in the instructions that mega-dosing certain vitamins can trigger temporary neuropathy—which sounds exactly like those symptoms you're describing that eventually clear up once you stop. It feels like you’re just treating Neurobion like candy, taking it totally uncontrolled without even a doctor's note or a prescription!
Look, if you're just buying stuff on your own because everyone else is doing it and they seem fine, then hey, maybe you think you’ll feel great too... but that's a trap. I mean, yeah, some people take steroids and end up dealing with things like moon face or messed up cycles, but as long as their underlying condition is under control, they're happy. In those cases, a side effect feels like a small price to pay to actually manage the disease. But that's when there's a medical reason! If you're just taking things for no reason at all? Just stop. Seriously. And quit falling for every single advertisement you see. You've got a brain—use it! Start thinking for yourself as an individual instead of just following the crowd.

Look, if you’re already dropping cash on all those MRIs, EMGs, EEGs, rheumatoid factor tests, and anti-nuclear antibody panels (seriously, though??!), then you might as well go all in and pay for the CK, LDH, and SSEP too!
You can totally go for the anti-ds-DNA and the DNA profile too. Oh, and don't forget about cryoglobulins!
They should definitely be looking into a lumbar puncture and a CSF analysis too. Better safe than sorry!
Oh, and they're doing a muscle biopsy too. Plus a skin biopsy—just to make sure we aren't looking at something like lupus.

Alright, we've pretty much covered just about everything!

Yeah, I'm definitely sarcastic.

Go join the Boy Scouts of America.
So, give me the lowdown! What exactly are you feeling? Lay out all those symptoms for me.
Cut out all that extra nonsense from the equation! Unless you were actually popping magnesium because you felt like you were running low, just drop the rest of it.

Look, if your doctor won't even bother sending over a referral, just bite the bullet and pay out of pocket for a blood test to check your potassium levels. If that comes back totally fine, then go ahead and book that appointment with the neurologist!

And once that's all wrapped up, you'll move on to whatever other tests the doctor puts on your plate. If they don't give you any specific direction, just hit us up and drop your report here! We'll all jump in and share our own personal experiences so we can shower you with advice on exactly what you should do next.

Anything else is just a total waste of your energy, your heart, and your precious time!

Hey there! What's up?

Sorry I missed the message earlier! I was out on the road and couldn't get to my phone. I finally got some bloodwork done, and while my potassium levels were off the charts, my magnesium, B12, and Vitamin D came back within range. The thing is, even though I’ve been slamming 300% of my RDA for B12, it's still just sitting right in the middle of the pack. And don't even get me started on Vitamin D—it's incredibly low. This is despite the fact that I spent half the summer soaking up the sun at the beach without a shirt on and was even taking two different types of supplements! Even my magnesium is just mediocre, which is wild considering I’ve been hitting 400% of my RDA with supplements at times. Just weird, honestly!

So, after all that, I've got my Carotid Doppler and EMG scheduled—just waiting on the actual appointments now! Also, my doctor put me on some heavy-duty Vitamin D drops, 14,000 IU, so I'm taking those every single day.

Just saw this message, so I’m heading back out to get my potassium levels checked again.

P.S. I've been on Lipitor for years now, and someone mentioned it can cause all sorts of issues after taking it long-term.

Sean Ward4 said:Stick to a basic multivitamin if you’re going to take anything. It’s super unlikely you have a major deficiency, but there’s a huge chance this is just anxiety.
Was your MRI totally clear? If it was—then you’re good!

It was totally clear. Had a brain MRI about 11 months ago.

I honestly don't think I'm deficient since I've always eaten tons of fruits and veggies, plus my supplements.

Can anxiety really cause cramping in all those different spots?

Today, like, my back is vibrating, my elbow is acting up, even my ear feels like it's pulsing, and I get these weird tingling sensations near the veins in my legs—kind of a dull ache after a spasm—in my calf and near the Achilles.

I just can't wrap my head around how anxiety could trigger all of that at once.

P.S. I'm heading in tomorrow to get an Ann test.

Thanks a million,

I actually had a brain MRI about a year ago because of some dizziness, and I'm not totally sure if I need to redo it now given what's happening, especially since my results were fine back then. But I'll definitely get the rest of those tests done!

Hey there! What's up?
Hope it’s not a huge deal that I’m starting this thread! If it is, please feel free to move it to the right spot—I honestly scoured the whole forum and just couldn't find a specific topic for this issue.

I've been dealing with this one issue for about 20 days now, and it's really starting to bug me!
Alright, let me give you the quick rundown of what's going on.

My calves were killing me in both legs, so we had to take a total break from working out!
So, I decided to go all out for a week—I tried taking a double dose of magnesium along with my full daily serving of Vitamin B12!

So, the first issue didn't actually clear up, and now I’ve got a whole new situation on my hands. My quads are starting to twitch—just these little, painless spasms in both legs. On top of that, the pain in my calves hasn't budged at all; it's still there in both legs.

I’ve been experimenting with this combo for about ten days now. I started out with magnesium and 100% B12, then decided to throw in Vitamin B1, B6, and Calcium at a full 100% dose. It’s been a solid run!

So, I’ve been dealing with this for about 20 to 25 days now, and honestly, it’s still going strong. On top of the constant pain in my calves, I’m getting these muscle twitches in my quads every 5 to 10 minutes. But get this—now it’s spreading to my arms too! I'm talking triceps and biceps on both sides. It's definitely leveling up.

I’ve been slamming B1, B6, B12, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Magnesium, and Calcium at like 100 to 200% of my daily value for 20 days straight now!

Nothing’s worked so far. I finally managed to get an appointment with an orthopedist, but I'm stuck waiting a whole month!

Should I go for an EMG, an EEG, or what? I could always just head to a private clinic to get things sorted out quickly. Does anyone have any solid recommendations for a good specialist?

Thanks a million!

Hey everyone,

I’m starting this thread because I am seriously frustrated. I just left my doctor after being told some absolute nonsense, and now I'm stuck waiting for this stuff to wear off, popping magnesium, and trying to just rest. Even though I gave them a super detailed breakdown of what’s going on, they wouldn't even give me a referral for further testing.

THE PROBLEM:

For the last 10 days, I’ve been dealing with intense pain in my calves, both legs. I’m a pretty active guy, but I haven't done any sports or anything physical at all for the 10 days leading up to when this sudden calf pain hit me.

Two days after the calf pain started, the ache spread to my quads and my Achilles tendon too. It’s weird—it doesn't actually hurt while I'm walking, but if I sit down, lie down and move my legs, or even just touch those spots, the pain is intense.

Four days in, the cramps kicked in out of nowhere. It's heavy cramping in one leg, and in the other leg, I can actually see the muscle twitching under my skin, though that part doesn't hurt.

By day six, and continuing through today (day 11), everything hurts—my thighs, my calves, even right below the knee.

JUST SO YOU KNOW.
I had zero activity (work or sports) for the 10 days before this started.
I take daily multivitamins from Solgar that have 100% of my Vitamin D, B, and C, plus I take immune support supplements and eat tons of fruits and veggies. There is absolutely no way I'm vitamin deficient. Plus, as soon as the pain started on day one, I proactively took 1000mg of calcium and 375mg of magnesium, and I've been doing that for 10 days straight—and it DID NOT help.

As far as I can tell, there's no way this is an injury unless I somehow injured myself in my sleep. But even if I did, how would the pain spread to both legs like this? It went from my calves and Achilles to below the knee and above the knee, and it's a sharp pain whenever I try to stretch or even just touch it.

P.S. No bulging veins, no swelling, and no heat in the area.

Any suggestions? Should I go see an orthopedist privately or what do you guys think I should do?

Today, my doctor just looked at me and said it's probably just fatigue, an injury, or a magnesium deficiency, and sent me home.

I honestly cannot accept that diagnosis because it's just not possible.
Constant burping - happening 100x a day in Health ·
So, I’ve got this issue, and my doctor is basically telling me it’s probably just some loose muscles letting air slip in. Honestly, I’m really not buying her diagnosis. She hasn't even given me a referral yet; she just handed me some Pepcid and Spasmag, which haven't done a thing despite me being on them for six days now.

I’m burping the second I wake up, and then it keeps happening like 7 to 9 times an hour all day long. I’ve been eating tiny amounts throughout the day, waiting two hours after eating before lying down, and I haven't touched coffee, soda, or bread for five days. When I eat normally, I don't have any other issues—no pain, no bloating, no diarrhea—just this non-stop burping.

I've noticed the burping gets way worse whenever I drink water or eat anything, regardless of how big the meal is. Even on an empty stomach right when I get up, I can be burping 10 times in a single hour.

This has been going on for 10 days straight and nothing is helping.

What should I do? Any advice?
