It’s one of those things where you think you’re being smart by skipping it—only to end up regretting it later.
Blasting music at max volume for too long—it’ll wreck your hearing.
It’s just how people are wired—I’m a narcissist and an egoist through and through. If you’re curious, go ahead and ask (though, let's be honest, I've already adopted that narcissistic stance where *I* hold all the answers to your questions)
It’s pathetic and honestly kind of funny—for instance, when someone else is hogging the spotlight, I start feeling absolutely terrible, like I’m about to drop dead right then and there. But once the praise starts rolling in my way? I thrive. I wouldn't call myself a bad person, but that’s just how I’m built.

You totally misread me—it was more of a "don't sweat the small stuff" vibe rather than actual advice...

Oh, please—it’s just a bad breakup, not some tragic Shakespearean death sentence.
You’re honestly just picking at the same old scab every single day.
Just let it go; it’s over, it’s done, it’s dead and buried—that chapter is closed for good.
Move on already. Stop overthinking it, find something else to occupy your brain, or if it really hits you hard—just grab a drink and call it a night.
It isn't even about missing them that much—you're just struggling to deal with yourself. Get it together.

Alright, I'll give it a shot with some help.

His grandmother gave me a little nudge (haha)—as did those two old guys he used to hang out with, one of them was Gen. Patton.
It’s not that the movie didn't wreck me—it actually left me feeling pretty heavy. That scene where the runner pulls back that girl in the hoodie, just totally alone? It stuck with me. But honestly, my heart went out most to that middle-aged guy in the shorts—the way he just handled everything in one go without a second thought, hitting the ground like it was nothing... Just sad.

Well, hats off to you—that’s about as honest as it gets. Of course everyone prefers gliding along smoothly rather than struggling through the grind. Everyone loves a freebie, really; everything else is just window dressing that usually ends up becoming a chore.

The little skeptic in me couldn't stay quiet—I had to weigh in on the English skills here.😁 I was building on Matthew Harris6's handle, since I figured he was channeling that Johnny Cash vibe from the song Hurt. Look, I know my English, even if you don't know your music. I'm officially smarter than your dog! lol 😁

I can’t just cruise through life without asking "why"—it’s impossible for me—and I guess we all hit that wall eventually.
Sure, you can have it all—an entire empire of smiles—but they’ll still let you down, and they’ll still hurt you.🙂
The truth is, nobody actually has a smart answer for this—mostly because one doesn't exist.
People only keep going because they’re terrified of being alone at the end.
Anyway, thanks for the input, everyone.

Drama queen 🙂 You misread the intro.

Patrick Peterson talking about kingdoms is a bit much! "they're just human beings" haha 😁.

Look, I'm not looking for a pity party or an SOS here—I just want to know what everyone else thinks.
I was watching The Bridge the other day and it got my gears turning. Beyond the usual stuff like mental health struggles, debt, or heartbreak, it feels to me like most people end up checking out because they just can't stomach the sheer emptiness and lack of purpose in life—at least, I personally find it unbearable.
You wake up in the morning knowing there isn't anything great waiting for you. Every single day.
It all feels pretty pointless. How do you guys deal with it?

I was going to post this in Philosophy, but since everyone in the psych group seems to share the common denominator of being "totally screwed," I figured I'd drop it here instead.
Life is a struggle—blah, blah, blah... But what happens when that struggle doesn't actually have a goal worth fighting for? When you’ve just been spinning your wheels for ages, staring at a wall, knowing full well nothing is ever going to change? You get those little bursts of ego, thinking you've made it, only to crash back down again—just an endless cycle of highs and lows against a backdrop of absolute, impenetrable nothingness. There's no safe harbor, no handhold, nothing actually worth living for.
Is this the headspace most people find themselves in right before they decide to end it all?

No way! Once the sun goes down, that peaceful forest vibe turns into pure nightmare fuel—I wouldn't last ten minutes. You claim you’re totally numb and nothing moves the needle, but honestly? In the middle of the woods at night, you’d be feeling everything, and you'd be absolutely thrilled to crawl back into your warm, safe bed. 😁
