I’m just waiting for the weather to break a little. Once it warms up, I’m grabbing my sleeping bag and a pack and heading straight into the woods. My plan is to hang a hammock between two trees to keep myself safe from any wild hogs wandering around. Honestly, though, I’m a bit worried about what my parents will think—how am I supposed to explain to the neighbors that their daughter is out there living in a tree? It’s not like I’m planning on doing this forever (unless, you know, I really love it), but at least for a few weeks. Does anyone have any solid advice on how to actually find enough food out there?

Nights out in the woods can be genuinely eerie—filled with all those strange, unexpected noises that eventually make you start seeing things. You really need a solid head on your shoulders to sleep soundly alone in the wilderness. Plus, finding enough food is a major hurdle; wild plants and berries just aren't going to provide enough calories to sustain you for more than a day or two.
You shouldn't rely on hunting squirrels, anyway—there's never enough of them in one spot to actually meet your nutritional needs...
That leaves you with canned goods. Honestly, your biggest challenge will likely be finding clean water. It’s not exactly everywhere in the forest, and wherever you do find a spring, you're going to run into way more wildlife. You have to be mentally prepared for that kind of thing. If this is your first time, please—go with someone who actually knows what they're doing.

So, where am I even supposed to find someone willing to go down that road with me? 😬

I’m heading out. I don't exactly have anything more productive on my schedule right now... 😬

No way! Once the sun goes down, that peaceful forest vibe turns into pure nightmare fuel—I wouldn't last ten minutes. You claim you’re totally numb and nothing moves the needle, but honestly? In the middle of the woods at night, you’d be feeling everything, and you'd be absolutely thrilled to crawl back into your warm, safe bed. 😁

I’d suggest you just have a heavy drink; once you’re buzzed enough, you won't give a damn about where you are, what kind of scum is crawling around you, or who's screaming in your ear. 😉
