I'm skeptical. Hamilton and Vettel are miles ahead... Fernando will likely find himself ahead of Button during the race, though Button might benefit if Fernando ends up getting tangled up with the rest of the field. As for Webber... well, he's in a Red Bull that clearly has pace, so it's hard to imagine him having a bad run. Ferrari is eating through their tires, even more so than McLaren and Red Bull.
Right, right... I always forget about the softs. Thanks for the reminder. 😉 And I actually wasn't aware of that medium-hard strategy.
Regarding Seba, this was what came through over the team radio: "so far the options are starting to show degradation in other cars as well". So, it looks like he was dealing with those issues too.
Honestly, nobody actually got better rubber than everyone else... the tires feel softer than they did in years past, but there are so many variables that dictate tire life and how they hold up during a stint. That’s such a cheap theory... it just sounds silly to me. 😁
Maybe Red Bull... I haven't heard anything about them having issues with tire degradation. I know Perez, di Resta, Ricciardo, and Rosberg were all complaining about technical issues... meanwhile, Lewis was told to stay out on track just to see exactly how long it takes for the tires to start showing significant degradation.
I heard things regarding Red Bull; apparently, Vettel was told that the other drivers are struggling with tire degradation.
The car is totally unbalanced... it’s making things really difficult for the drivers in the first two cockpits. I'm thinking Fernando might finish somewhere around 5th to 7th... assuming the track stays dry.
Marc gen says they're also struggling with degradation issues.
Did they put Fernando on the inters?🤦 Just when the track finally dries enough to set some decent times on the yellows, they have him wandering around on inters instead.
I think I caught some team radio from Petrov, but it was pretty vague. They were talking about the weather and whether we should expect rain today... though I didn't quite catch all of it. Did anyone else manage to hear what was being said?
Vipbox is my go-to for practice sessions. I usually stick with it because you can always find a stream from either Sky or the BBC, if not both at once. The picture quality on Sky Stream is actually really solid.
So, what has the Maranello crew cooked up this time for Singapore... The FW has seen some minor tweaks, but let's be honest... we're just looking at tiny incremental updates. They’ve been tinkering with that unfortunate, headache-inducing FW since the Muggel era. As for the floor, there were rumors about some changes, but I'm seeing absolutely nothing.
I think that whole situation just dragged on way longer than it needed to... Sauber actually shows some decent top speed, and Monza features those high-speed corners they can handle quite well... Sauber performs really well in fast turns, which is exactly what you get at Monza.

Only time will tell.
Looking back at previous tracks that share a similar layout to this one, I don't have much faith in the Sauber cars. My experience tells me that on technical tracks with lots of low-speed corners, Williams usually holds an edge over them. And since FI-am had those tests, they might have even shaved a tenth or two off their lap times. I'm really looking forward to Sunday... I think it's going to be a great race.
This circuit just isn't clicking for Sauber. I honestly think they're going to struggle to make it into Q3. Maybe one driver pulls it off, but getting both cars through seems like a long shot.
Jason Campbell70 said:Yeah, yeah... the track is pure madness.
Honestly, I think people dismiss tracks like Valencia or the Miami Grand Prix Circuit for no reason. Personally, I’d much rather watch a race at the Miami Grand Prix Circuit than at Monza. In my opinion, the layout in Miami offers more room for maneuver, which lets a driver use their actual skill to compensate for any flaws in the car, no matter how big they are.
That’s just how I categorize them... if a circuit demands more raw skill, I have more respect for it, even when comparing it to an epic venue like Monza.
I’ve always felt the Singapore Grand Prix is an incredible track. It’s incredibly technical, making it nearly impossible to string together a truly fast lap. Fernando Alonso has always had a knack for this circuit, so I’m really pulling for him to grab another podium here.
I’m with you on that—McLaren looks like the favorite heading into this race after that strong showing in Canada. Lotus might be a dark horse too, considering how well they performed back in Valencia and Canada. As for Red Bull Racing, I'm honestly not sure what to expect. They were in a league of their own during Valencia, but that was a while ago, and things have shifted significantly since then.
Personally, I thought it was a subpar movie, and Mel Gibson’s performance was particularly weak. I’ll start by pointing out the scenes following his "daughter's" death; his portrayal of a grieving father was, to put it mildly, almost comedically bad. On top of that, the plot feels completely nonsensical. By the end, it turns out his daughter was somehow caught up in some massive American conspiracy involving trillions of dollars. It’s that typical Hollywood trope that just wasn't necessary here.

Personally, I think Romain has shown throughout the season that he holds a slight edge over Kimi when it comes to raw single-lap pace... but everyone is pushing Kimi hard right now. 🤷
To me, Romain seems incredibly fast, but his struggle is maintaining that consistency once the race actually gets underway.
