Hey, I know this is totally off-topic, but I just wanted to share this response I got from DFI regarding the system crashes on my new build...
So, basically, once I hit F1 during the reboot, the overclocked settings load right into the BIOS, but then the whole system just hits a blue screen immediately upon startup. It keeps rebooting itself over and over in this endless loop.

The coolers are specifically tuned for overclocking both the VGA and the CPU, plus there's some extra cooling for the case too.

I noticed HG was talking about that specific motherboard and memory combo, so I just wanted to jump in and say that, in my experience, it's definitely not working for me.😢

Hey there,

Look, using the Auto Boost System or any other kind of automated overclocking tool is basically playing with fire—you're taking all that risk on yourself. To be totally honest, I wouldn't even recommend messing with it, mostly because those ABS profiles make way too many "guesses" about what your hardware can actually handle. They tend to assume things about your peripherals that just aren't always true, especially when it comes to your memory. If you actually want to see what your rig can do, your best bet is to just jump straight into the motherboard BIOS and do things the old-fashioned way.

I get what you're saying, but honestly, I've been there before—every time I've picked up a new rig, I end up constantly messing around with memory tweaks just to keep things smooth. Don't sweat it too much, though; once you've got two or three background processes running alongside some heavy-duty video rendering app, that 4GB of RAM is gonna disappear before you even realize it. You can never have too much of a good thing, right? Besides, software developers are always finding new ways to hog resources anyway, so you might as well be prepared.

Nah, everything just installs itself, you know? Like, if I plug a USB to RS-232 adapter in, boom, it works. I don't even care what kind of cable it is or whatever. It was the same deal with my router. Once I reinstalled everything, I just plugged it in—no CDs or extra steps required. I actually had to give AT&T a call just to make sure the connection was solid.🤣
The only thing giving me grief is Subtitle Workshop because I'm trying to get a 64-bit codec working, since K-Lite won't play the video for me (or maybe I'm just bad at settings... there's way too much stuff to dig through and all these little complications just drive me crazy).

My bad, I missed your post, looks like we're basically saying the same thing—there are plenty of us who feel this way.
The only reason I'm sticking with Windows Vista is because I want to make sure my full 8GB of RAM actually gets utilized properly while I'm playing Fallout, Far Cry 2, Grid, and stuff like that.

So I picked up Windows Vista 64-bit and honestly, I have no clue what you guys are even complaining about... I remember being such a die-hard fan of Windows XP because Windows 98 was basically the greatest OS ever made, and then... I am never switching over to Vista because it’s just too buggy, though I guess it’s always been the same old story. Once they finally hammer out all those patches on Vista (just like how it took them three whole years to get Windows XP dialed in), everyone will just start trashing whatever new OS comes out next....
Same old song and dance, heard it a hundred times already.

We actually got a Samsung MW-CR23GE as a gift, so I was wondering if anyone here has messed around with this kind of microwave before.
It’s a 23-liter unit, but it’s got these built-in heaters on top and a water reservoir meant to steam the food and all that good stuff. We’d been avoiding microwaves for the longest time—probably just because of those old-school prejudices—but today I tried cooking a massive chunk of beef, maybe 3 pounds, along with a big onion (I think that was for the steam), and after about 20 minutes, we were honestly pretty shocked. The food was delicious. I’m guessing those top heaters are there to give everything a quick sear or crisp up after the "cooking" part is done. Honestly, I think this is going to cut my lunch prep time in half.

We’re super happy with it and it feels like it’s actually going to make life a little easier. The price tag was probably somewhere around $467, but considering it can basically act as a regular oven too, it doesn't seem like a bad deal at all.
