Hm, if this forum isn't masculine enough for you, the internet is a vast place (I’d suggest checking out www.backpackrock.com/forum/). 👋

I don't get why everyone decided to jump on Timothy Jones85... 😕

and this MEAT guy doesn't even have any recipes, just raw, naked chickens, sheep, pigs...

Ah, a meat fetish. Does he actually have any decent ribeye?

Honestly, it’s almost impressive how much of a disaster the leftovers of Heller's work turned out to be... He tried quoting "fajrunt" and some other piece—something split into two parts just like "handle 22"—and I was genuinely stunned by how abysmal the writing could actually get. 🙏

A roommate dropped off this old collection of "meat dish" recipes at my place—it came bundled with some newspaper from back in '56. It’s wild; everything is written in the feminine voice, things like, "once you've chopped the onions and tossed them in the pan..." because apparently, back then, nobody actually believed a man would step foot in a kitchen. 😬

I have a theory that every newborn should be handed a copy of Vonnegut’s "Galapagos" and Heller’s "Handle 22" right out of the gate... just so they learn early on exactly how little they can expect from the human race. 🙂

And while Sturgeon is brilliant, in my defense, I haven't touched his work in years. By the way, have all those collected short stories been released? Those white books? I’ve seen them around, but I’ve only managed to get through the first two...

I didn't dare weigh in on Vonnegut since I've only read three of his books, but if those three are any indication, they are absolute masterpieces. Daniel Bailey7, isn't "Bluebreast" a newer release? I thought that one was excellent.

I’ve worked my way through three volumes of Sturgeon’s collected works, though I have no idea if there’s more out there... Dammit, I really need to make a trip to the local library soon.

Sandra Chase16, what on earth were you posting at 10:07 PM? If I were feeling bold, I’d say you definitely owe us an explanation for missing the Punk meetup.

What, did you get drunk and lose your way again? Those damn chaos punks, you can never just stay out of trouble with them... 😁

Honestly, if I were putting together a top ten list, I’d have included Ray Bradbury right at the top.

For that same reason—my appreciation for stylistically elegant sci-fi, which is a rare breed these days—I’m also throwing out the wonderful, truly wonderful T. S. Sturgeon. 🙂

Jose Watson66 drove me while he was wasted, thanks for nothing. 🙂

As if anyone actually cares what you, David Judzin, or Ian MacKaye think. I was busy explaining to my buddy Jaran that someone who can't grasp the divine dimension shouldn't even bother showing up to an Exploited show.🙂 🙂

It seems you've lost your touch for unconditionally worshiping us superior beings. We're not worthy of Him! 🙏 🙏 🙏

Well, you certainly made her happy. 😁 😉

Man, you want to swing by my place before Plojted? Unfortunately, I don't have any snack cakes left to offer, but we could always just drink instead... 🙂

_______________
*Snack cakes. Basically just cheap grocery store treats. No shit.

What kind of thinker are you even... 🤣 🤣 🤣

I was already starting to worry I was moderating while drunk again. 🙂

No way! Just leave me alone! To hell with MacKaye—he sold out long before "Out of Step" anyway. 🙄 😁

Not quite, but I need a break from Exploited (that's this Thursday, right?) and I don't have a ticket, no ride, and honestly, I'm not even that dying to go—even if I think that Evans album is great. It’s just not really the kind of music I want to experience live...

David Sullivan4 said:Look, if I head over to Exploited, I could probably swing by a Sex Pistols show too and be perfectly comfortable. Kevin Chavez3, you actually ashamed to take me to a concert?

Yeah, right! Let's just go grab a beer in a small Midwest town and then go mosh...🙂

I suppose I need to pick up a lot more vinyl if I want my collection to actually look decent to a woman's eye.😁

Miss L, are you planning on hitting up Plojted?
