I got so worked up writing this post that I nearly walked out of the office just to hit up Roxy Music and buy every single Exploited record they have in stock. 😁 Too bad some Madjar scammers scammed me; they scooped up "Totally Exploited" and that wonderful "Death Before Dishonour," leaving me stuck with nothing but "The Massacre"—some absolute trash import... 🙂 At least Free Bird had the first Pet Shop Boys album, so I had something to take the sting out of it. 😍

This entire thread about Black Flag is the most unnecessarily serious take on this forum I've ever seen. 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙂

From what I can tell, playboy has heard maybe eleven bands in his entire life. 🙄

The #1 best chore:

1. organizing my vinyl collection

*Too bad I didn't figure out his genius until I was already old enough...

I feel the exact same way—assuming we're talking about a sixteen-year obsession with comics. Ken Parker is in a league of his own.

There’s something hauntingly perfect about "She stood there laughing, then I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more."

Nikola from Baker Dafina said:You really need to hear this one track by Skids !!! ???? Don't believe me? They were among the absolute greats—maybe even my personal favorites from that era... if I have to go on about it...

Dammit, just "Into The Valley." I’m actually going to track them down at Slsk later today... if luck isn't on my side, I might just find out exactly where you live... 🙂

Ecce homo! 🙏 🙏 🙏

(Mind you, I've only ever really heard that song by the Skids, but it carries more weight than, say, four entire discographies from a band like The Stranglers).

Speaking of pumpkin soup, my mother makes a damn fine version. You peel the pumpkin, grate it, and then boil it down in a proper roux—add some milk, chop up a pepper, and it’s perfection. Honestly, I need to get the exact procedure from her, because whoever ends up with me is going to need to be able to whip up a pumpkin stew just as good as my mother's. 🙏 🙏 🙏

I have zero patience for any other way of preparing pumpkin, squash, or eggplant.

Once, at a bakery near Chicago, they "treated" me to a meat burek that had me retching for hours in the privacy of my own home. 🙂 Kill!

I’d suggest adding spinach to the milk base, and especially pumpkin—that’s easily my number one pick for stews (assuming we move beans to a separate category for heavy hitters like chili)... Leeks are surprisingly good, too.

I honestly don't think you can claim to be a decent human being if you don't appreciate Housewife. Housewife is basically the Buzzcocks of the cookie world. 🙂

Honestly, having coffee right after lunch is nothing short of a crime against humanity.

For real, I couldn't imagine being with a woman whose favorite band is The Flying Luttenbachers... And even if she was, that would be the very last reason I'd choose her.
These lists are pretty shocking to me, especially when you see people writing stuff like "her favorite albums HAVE to be..." It's madness. I never thought of doing something like that back in high school.

You're right. And we're all sitting here taking this way too seriously, you know...

What an idiot... Of course I meant the Newtown Neurotics, not the Neurotic Outsiders (who are cute enough, I suppose, but they just don't fit that category of endless punk sweetness 🙂).
