David Howard9 - A colleague of mine recently brought in some leftover wedding treats that a friend had gifted her—though, if I’m being honest, she basically just scavenged whatever was left after picking out all her personal favorites first... but even those "scraps" were absolutely divine to me... they were from Kašnar, by the way—so, in my book, that's a massive win...
I haven't actually tried it yet—mostly because I managed to put on a few extra pounds while I was stuck at home feeling under the weather...
I’m thinking about placing an order with them for the holidays—maybe grab about five or six pounds worth of everything so we can sample all the different varieties...
But man, this cake today... oh my goodness... I’m usually not much of a chocolate cake person—I don't really go for anything chocolatey in dessert form (though I will never turn down a good bar of chocolate)—but this? This felt like eating pure, unadulterated chocolate... absolutely incredible...
They do wedding cakes—some with fondant and some without... I asked about enough for roughly 70 guests, and with the fondant, she quoted me $800$300 at most—though she mentioned it might even be cheaper once we settle on the final design...
The lady there is just incredibly, incredibly sweet, and honestly, their cakes are absolutely delicious. A coworker brought one of their chocolate cakes to my birthday party today, and I was so impressed that I immediately went ahead and ordered one for my godchild’s baptism this Saturday... For a crowd of 200 people, we're looking at about $67 They actually offer delivery for both the full cakes and the individual pastries too
If you're hosting a huge group, you can always do a large sheet cake on the bottom tier to mix two different flavors, and then stack another layer or two on top—that’s actually what she recommended to the bride who was right in front of me in line
So yeah, they seem super flexible to work with... the only thing is they're a little pricey, but since I'm working with a smaller group, I think I'll just treat myself to that extra bit of indulgence🙂
So, I’ve been keeping a pretty close eye on everything related to wedding costs lately—and honestly, every single fall, prices seem to jump up by at least 20%, depending on what you're looking at...
It’s actually kind of wild, isn't it? Makes you think maybe it’s better to just get hitched as soon as possible 😂
I went ahead and ordered some samples from the pastry chef 🙂 so we'll just have to wait and see how they turn out... I'm really hoping I hit the jackpot with the sweets right out of the gate—otherwise, if I keep tasting everything, I'm going to end up looking like a parade float...
restlesssailor66, are you grabbing yours from Orient or is everything being provided at the venue?
