It’s as simple as saying, "Fine, send those 3.5 million people our way, and we'll send 3.5 million Turks back to you." We could easily fill those jobs ourselves—after all, those positions mostly require manual labor rather than complex intellectual input.😉
How exactly am I supposed to deport Turks when most of them hold dual citizenship or at least have perfectly legal work permits and residency? A huge number of them were actually born in European Union countries.
cosmiccyclist8 said:You honestly deserve that penalty. Did you even see how he entered the track?
Do you think he could have made it back under 90 seconds?
He had plenty of room to rejoin on the left side of the track. The car was fine. But he knew Lewis Hamilton was coming up fast on his right, so he jerked the wheel to avoid him. You can't argue with that penalty. People can complain all they want, but the call was fair.
Red Bull is a total disaster right now. McLaren was clearly faster than them today. It looks like Honda isn't going to be the powerhouse everyone promised it would be.
crimsonhawk23 said:True, but he wasn't even scoring points. Plus, after that collision with Max Verstappen, he dealt with enough other issues that I won't even get into it. Lando Norris drove a magnificent race, and that was only his second career win. 🙏
We really ought to take another look at Vettel's masterclass today: https://streamable.com/tpctf Mission Spinnow 🤦
He didn't retire. He was just pulled off the track shortly before the end of the race.
Sainz ran into some trouble with Kubik during his flying lap. Because of that, you can't really label him a disappointment right now. He was consistently outperforming Norris until that moment. Honestly, he probably would have made it into Q3 if Kubik hadn't clipped him.
*Honda arrived at these tests with a dozen power units on hand, so whenever there was a significant break in the action for Toro Rosso Red Bull Honda, they simply swapped out the engine. (*Source: Sky Sports)

This is exactly my point. Ferrari clearly has the raw pace, they're just running their own specific agenda
Update 1.18.414🙂. The prophets are out in full force now, acting like this is some miracle, yet those hard compounds are actually performing better than when Ricciardo was out there yesterday with the asphalt at 54 degrees. What do you think, Tibac He He? Let's go, Seb, let's go
When you factor in all the variables—the rubber, the track state—this looks like a significantly better lap time
steelmaker83 said:Did you catch that pit stop drill? It was a total disaster. They looked completely lost, like they didn't have a clue what they were doing.
It’s nonsense. Everyone aims for those 2.5 to 3-second stops, yet they still manage to botch it a couple of times every single season.
Vandoorne is taking off this morning. I’m really hoping McLaren finally puts together an efficient day without any setbacks. It's pretty clear this car has the raw speed.
northerncobra31 said:I don't really get their explanation regarding Romania and Turkey. Why would that make them unmarked?
It's likely because those from Turkey aren't official batches, just test runs. But we're talking about Medium tires with the exact same characteristics as the standard ones used in races.
northerncobra31 said:A racing statistic shows Lewis Hamilton is the first to go under 1:19 at Circuit de Catalunya this winter, clocking a 1:18.945 on unmarked Pirelli tyres.
Interesting.
A news report suggests the news for the rest of the field is somewhat ominous, as Hamilton's benchmark from about thirty minutes ago is now officially recorded as being set on the medium tyres.
A news report explains that Pirelli's reason for the unmarked tires stems from the group operating out of two different bases, one in Romania and one in Turkey, but the bottom line is clear: Mercedes are leading the pack on the mediums.
The season hasn't even kicked off yet, and everyone is already acting like they’ve seen the future. It's pretty obvious to me. Mercedes is going to be even more dominant this year than they were last season. ☕
Lewis Hamilton is absolutely flying around the track. We’re looking at some seriously impressive times here. Everything we've seen up until this point? You can basically throw it all in the trash.
McLaren finally found their rhythm today. They just clocked a 1:19.856 on the hyper-softs, but keep in mind that wasn't a sprint—it was a longer stint.
"Fernando Alonso is certainly providing McLaren with a much-needed dose of optimism...
McLaren pulled the car into the pits after a 12-lap stretch. That stint length makes it clear: even though he was on those hyper-softs, Alonso wasn't chasing a qualifying lap here."
