The Ramones in Music ·
Well, there you have it, I went too. I finally made it back home 🙂

They were actually quite talented, though they played everything at such a blistering 200 bpm that I only managed to recognize a few tunes somewhere halfway through the set, lol (and mind you, I was behind the soundboard, so my perspective wasn't exactly ideal). But honestly, the one redeeming quality was that the frontman stayed on stage for an extra 45 minutes just to sign autographs. So, all things considered, I am satisfied, yet I found myself descending into a profound state of melancholy while walking home...

I find myself missing a certain quality in her vocal delivery, though I suppose that’s just the essence of Joanna. When I feel the need for a similar sonic texture, I usually turn to the rather dull offerings of Bianca from Colorado 🙂
The most recent record I’ve had the pleasure of listening to feels as though it was unearthed from the deepest, most desolate reaches of musical history; we are talking about Spiritual/Folk Music from the tribes of Kenya and Tanzania. Recorded back in 1975 by ethnomusicologist David Fanshawe, this album is an exercise in absolute authenticity, completely devoid of any studio polish or modern sampling.

At certain intervals, the experience can be quite jarring, as you are bombarded by all sorts of raw sounds—squawks, whistles, and shrill noises reminiscent of a traffic cop 😁 and the like—yet these are balanced by magnificent instruments such as the marimba, which is essentially a wooden xylophone, alongside various percussion and stringed arrangements. As the title implies, the tracks are primarily ritualistic and steeped in mysticism (if I were even slightly more superstitious than I am, I might have hesitated before pressing play 🤣). Take, for instance, tracks like Religious Initiation, Ritual Dance, Shaman, and Funeral Rite.

In short, it is loud, unadulterated, and stripped down to its very essence. The compositions are relatively brief and never become tedious, making for a remarkably smooth listening session. It is a profoundly fascinating and worthwhile collection. 🙂

And what exactly is the actual Flames 🤣 🤣

Actually, I was just immersing myself in some Native American Tribal tunes:

It sets a perfectly sophisticated mood for unwinding, as it isn't strictly downtempo, but rather possesses that ideal, balanced vibe. You won't find an excessive amount of vocals, howling, or coyote sounds cluttering the tracks. 🤣 It features compositions inspired by tribes such as the Yakim, Shawneei, Wild Horse, and so on. On the whole, it is a highly pleasant listening experience. Highly recommended. 👍
Man, this downtempo stuff is absolutely killing me...

And now, for something a bit more substantial: NP : desert Dwellers - raga saga original mix 🙏
👍 👍

My solitary grievance is simply that the duration was far too brief. However, one could do much worse...
Why on earth was I listening to Soviet music? Honestly, it doesn't matter, let's move on to the actual topic 🙏

I generally find myself drawn to anything with an ethnic undertone—whether it's North American, Gypsy, African, and so on. If you happen to be tuning into NPR, they have this show called Ethnica hosted by Sanja Pleša; if I recall correctly, the new slot is Sunday nights around 11 PM, which means it's happening tonight! 😲 It’s a massive variety, spanning ethno, dub, world, ambient—truly everything. The woman possesses impeccable taste.

To highlight just a few artists that resonate with me:
the world-renowned Kiril Dzajkovsi, who masterfully blends traditional sounds with electronica (though, mind you, I don't typically listen to electronic music). Highly recommended. Then there is David Starfire, Daniele Gaudi, Martin Stääf/Liquid Stranger, Desert Dwellers (absolutely wicked), Hasna El Becharia, the legend Ali Farka Touré along with his son Vieux Farka Touré, Burkina Electric, and so on. The list is far too extensive to recite here.

That is merely a standard referral system. During the registration process, you have the option to input the username of the individual who directed you toward this forum—essentially, whoever recommended it to you. That digit ranging from one to eight simply represents the total number of people a specific user has successfully invited to join us. While there isn't any particularly profound practical application for such a metric, there it is...

And no, I must insist that the number of referrals has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on a member's rank or status here.🙏
