Honestly, I'm just so disappointed with how things turned out. I'm with you on everything, rowdytiger13—I just don't have the energy to write much right now because I'm totally wiped out.
Nicholas Watson, it hasn't really started working for me yet.
Honestly, forget about Canada. ☕

From Montpelier, you could actually just head across the border into the US... I mean, we're talking about driving through half the country, but it’s not like you're trekking through Russia; it's more like crossing through a tiny little spot like Mexico that you could practically bike across in a day. 🙂

And hopefully there's some online store that would ship it to Montpelier? They can't be *that* behind the times, right?

Actually, check out the VOLI webshop (they have a supermarket chain too, they even have one in Montpelier). They do deliveries, so if it's not at that location, he could just order it for pickup here:

Just stay brave, Kevin Jones19, the worst part is already behind you guys... now go get that milk! 👍 😁
I have to say, I was a bit let down during my time in Montpelier. I kept thinking, maybe our people here are more like Americans, but it turns out they fail pretty quickly when put to the test... 🙂:

Anyway, whatever happens, you should definitely try some Alpine milk instead (honestly, it’s probably even better).

Ps
It's great that everything is going smoothly back home, so just soak up that peace and quiet... I guess civilization is a bit overrated anyway. At the end of the day, we're all just living in a tiny little bubble, and looking at it that way might actually help. 😁
I honestly can't believe they don't carry Z'bregov or Dukat here. I mean, what are people even drinking instead of milk or yogurt in Mexico? It's a bit disappointing, I guess... 😁
But then again, it's only about a 40-minute drive to get to Miami or St. Augustine, and just as quick to reach Albany... so it's really not that big of a deal. 🙂
Anyway, I hope everything is running smoothly at home—pipes, water, all that good stuff?

I don't know, if my memory serves me right, Americans weren't really big on crowning people, though I guess they did upend things once in a while.

That’s actually a great word; I've been waiting for the right moment to use it. And based on how things are being reported, it might happen sooner rather than later. 👍
We all totally get where you're coming from and we've got your back. Once everything settles down and you start scrolling through the forum to grab everyone's thoughts again—well, don't forget about us!🙂
Tractors are being torched, facial hair is getting groomed, and everyone's dressing up in their finest florals—this is truly our year! 🎉 I’m honestly expecting a massive win for mama ŠĆ!

(I guess I'll be watching the rest for the first time on TV)
I was checking out 😁 and I honestly think that hat might have actually been a bit much, maybe because it made it kind of hard for her to see while she was searching for a spot, though it really did suit her quite well:

She really stood out there, but in a way that wasn't tacky or over-the-top at all; she looked lovely, I suppose.

This photo is just too big for the post, but I really do love the whole look. 👍

But honestly, the real issue with the US—and specifically with cities like Chicago—is the chronic lack of alligators. So, I don't think there's any real fear regarding Nancy Pelosi Jr. heading over there and marking her territory in my hometown. It’s probably better to just maintain some distance. 🙂>

If I do end up having to head to the States then (mostly because my mom is getting older and dealing with health issues), maybe we can agree that you guys leave the Chicago neighborhoods like the West Side and everything within a couple miles of there to me. 🙂 That would cover most of the major areas I know.

I really hope everything turns out okay with your mom. I guess I'm also feeling a bit hesitant about long-term travel due to my own family's health situation. Everyone is doing alright for now, but both my parents have their own chronic issues, and if things were to change, it wouldn't be something I could just walk away from easily. As for keeping our distance, I feel bad about it, but maybe we can just divide up the regions if that's what it takes to keep the peace. 😁>

boldraven3, you missed out. 🙂
The Coronation was actually quite stunning, though I guess the blame lies solely with the King and Queen.
Kate is truly the Queen. That way she carried herself with the imperial crown... it really worked. When William took his oath to the King (his father), I think we were all just completely mesmerized. And Princess Charlotte? She’s definitely the new star of the show. 🙂
As for Harry, he seemed tucked away in the third row alongside that unconvicted pedophile prince (who, mind you, was also in uniform unlike Harry), right behind Princess Anna, who wore such a massive two-foot feather headpiece that you could barely even see her.
Good grief, Americans. 🤣

Edit: Everyone is talking about Queen Latizia, but personally, I thought the Japanese Empress was such a cool touch. All the other European royals... well, they were a bit of a snooze, I suppose.

All I'll say is—my support goes to those 2,000 Republicans who were out there protesting. 🤣 It’s a small group, maybe a bit fringe, but I'm standing with them. 😬

Kate looked lovely with her makeup done, and she handled carrying that diamond tiara perfectly. Bright colors don't suit her particularly well (not that they suit many people), and she almost looked like some sort of red and blue macaw. But hey, it's part of the job, and I guess it's a small sacrifice for Britain. I thought Penny Mordaunt looked absolutely gorgeous, though. 😍 I didn't watch it live, but I scrolled through the photos and read some comments, and I have to agree, she did look a bit like Catherine Deneuve.

PS
The President's plane broke down, so I imagine the lady is going to be pretty annoyed. I can just picture her spending months picking out the perfect hat... why couldn't they just take a commercial flight?

I wonder if you actually know how Pfizer arrived at those vaccine efficacy numbers? I guess I might have mentioned something similar here on the forum about two years ago, based on the official data released by that charitable organization.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if the vaccine is effective, and I suspect my symptoms from the virus would have been pretty much the same regardless of whether I was vaccinated or not. But, I suppose the mRNA technology itself shows a lot of promise, and I feel quite proud to have played a part in this experiment.

Are you really weighing in here, Dženana, you little NKV spy? I mean, do you actually have any shame at all, talking about disgrace like this?😒

I think I might have missed that part about it being "from all that madness," since it’s still noted down there. But, if we’re being totally honest—and this is just my subjective take, of course—this could easily apply to America too. You look at things like corruption or a broken justice system here, or you look at places like Canada, which feels like a barely functioning protectorate, or even Mexico, which is just a total madhouse. I guess there are plenty of spoiled bystanders and third-rate characters who would probably use those exact same words to describe Americans moving away to places like Ireland or Germany.

Look, that’s entirely your call, and I respect that. But I have to say, I’ve noticed that Russia never seems to inspire you to go beyond this occasional, half-hearted agreement with them. It feels like there might be something off about that, I guess. And if you decide to make a move, you might just miss the mark—kind of like how it happened to me, maybe.

Whatever, look, I’m apologizing. Not exactly from the bottom of my heart, but... well, I guess I actually was wrong.
boldraven3 said:I’m actually planning to be back in the States for a longer stretch this fall. If you're still around then, maybe we could set something up. 😁 I'd really love to head over to a place like Chicago for a few days, and potentially somewhere else too—to be honest, I haven't seen much of the US, even though I grew up here. Between the war years and all the financial struggles afterward, I just didn't get many chances to travel (my folks couldn't really afford it). So, I'm hoping to make up for that when I return since I'll be around for a while anyway. We can always coordinate more through PM if you're up for it. 😁 Good luck with whatever you decide, regardless.

I'm definitely down 👍 and honestly, it's almost a sure thing 😁 (not that I won't go, but this fall feels a bit too close for comfort 😬) so once you have your trip planned, we can hash out the details via PM. 🙂
Arthur Sanders74 said:And in 3... I've got a trip to Chicago planned for a longer stint this fall, so it might be better to hold off. : rofl:

I'm already feeling a bit overwhelmed just thinking about the fact that Nancy Pelosi Jr. and I were on the same continent last week (in Europe), uff! 😬

It wouldn't be uninteresting to see two Americans as politically polarized as you two in the same room... though, I suppose it would probably be a lot less fun for both of you...🤣

How have you been? I was just passing through Dublin recently and you popped into my head. 😁

I haven't actually made it to Dublin yet; I'm still back here in the States. 😁 I’ve been keeping an eye on the situation over there and looking at places to stay, but honestly, the idea of having to deal with roommate drama all over again is kind of a turn-off. Between the crazy high rents and the lack of available spots, it seems even tougher than it used to be. A friend of mine in Dublin mentioned it isn't quite the nightmare the media makes it out to be, though, and she said she'd help me look around once I'm ready. I was thinking about heading out this fall, but I really don't know...
Arthur Sanders74 said:At first, I actually thought you were talking directly to me. I think that’s just because this came right after my post about Cleveland and that bombing over Niš. 😉

🤣
Arthur Sanders74 said:What do these Mexicans think they are, Americans? It feels like there's some massive shooting happening all the time.

The craziest part, I guess, is that this little psychopath was actually inspired by school shootings in the States. They're claiming he watched the American tragedy documentary featuring Dylan Klebold's mother multiple times—though, again, I'm getting this from certain tabloids, so who knows how much truth is in there...

My feeling, maybe, is that what happened with Costa could have gone down anywhere. It doesn't really have anything to do with the issues in the local public sphere, even if those problems are definitely real.

I suppose their leadership really should have been considering the value of Russian lives back when they first decided to dive into imperialist projects in the 21st century (?!). Personally, I might start feeling some sympathy for them once this whole bandit horde of a Russian army retreats—or flees, or just vanishes—back to their internationally recognized borders, and then, you know, someone actually attacks them there (which, let’s face it, will probably never happen).

Until then, I guess I'll just keep watching the footage from Ukrainian drones and helmet cams, maybe grab enough popcorn to get through the massive retreat that seems to be starting already. 🙂

I don't see myself feeling sorry for them anytime soon, though I suppose you never truly knows... For starters, I think they deserve an economic reset back to 1990s levels combined with total isolation, given everything they've done in Ukraine. Maybe after a few decades of that, I could squeeze out a single tear for Russia, whichever eye finds it easiest to flow from.
boldraven3 said:I finally made it back from my trip to the States on Wednesday evening. I figured this might be the perfect moment to finally check back in and say hello to everyone here again. 👋👋👋👋👋

And it really is the right time! 🎉🎉 (I suspect even Arthur Sanders74 was starting to get a little worried 😁).
It feels like we just keep circling the same old topics over and over... as you can probably tell..🤣
I honestly think your entire post is just a projection.
You people are essentially the same as those Nazis who mourned Aryan lives while couldn't care less about the lives of Jewish scum.

You're exactly the same—it's just that your cowardice won't let you admit it to yourselves, or to anyone else, I suppose.

This sounds like you, really; you couldn't have said it better yourself. Though, maybe you'd swap out that cowardice for a bit of a superiority complex. And that cast, that courage and honesty you keep calling for? Well, it’s embodied right here by Ivan the Terrible, but you've gone completely silent on that.

You went totally quiet, like a total coward, when he mentioned fleeing from Putin's camp. What's the deal there, bluecyclist64?

Do you even have a shred of dignity left?
