The CIA claims that Putin’s inner circle might be plotting an assassination attempt using a hammer. Apparently, "one strike to the head and he's gone."
A secret plot to take down Vladimir Putin could already be in motion, according to a CIA insider. This "hammer blow" aimed at removing the Russian leader might be being cooked up by Putin's own inner circle—a sudden, unexpected strike designed to catch him completely off guard if everything goes according to plan.
I mean, I'm kind of dying at this headline from the local news, acting like that's actually the literal plan... 🤣 🤣
First off, I honestly can't believe I finally managed to log in after my fifth attempt—it feels like a total miracle at this point. 🎉 But unfortunately, that’s more of an outlier than the norm. So, if there’s anyone here with even a shred of common sense—anyone at all—please, could you consider moving the Ukraine PDF files over to a new forum?
This current setup is just impossible; it's becoming completely unusable.
I really want to thank the moderator for jumping on this so quickly and scrubbing those posts by josip-presvetli. It was pretty disturbing to see that kind of hate speech and the blatant justification of hanging two gay men in Iran.
I’m starting this thread because, honestly, I think he deserves a permanent ban, or at least a partial one from the US subforum.
I unfortunately don't have much more time to write this out, but please, just take a look at what he was saying. You should decide for yourselves if this is the kind of contribution we want here in 2022 AD, especially when most people are just trying to have civilized discussions.
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to read this.
I’m throwing my support behind the idea of temporarily—or maybe just as a test—removing the partials. Honestly, the mere fact that he’s stuck strictly to the official channels every single year without ever even attempting to leave a comment via a clone... I guess that speaks volumes on its own. After nine years of following the rules to a T, you’d think he’d at least earned a little bit of consideration this time around.
If you check out the entire playlist from their double album, 69 love songs, you might find it interesting. That one is probably his most famous work, though I guess all the others are just as good, maybe even better.
Henry Morris4 said:well, I just listed a few of them there, but honestly, there were so many more...
Nowadays, the "vibe" of bands like Led Zeppelin or The Clash definitely still holds up. But I'm actually listening to stuff like this while I'm typing this out. I'm not entirely sure which genre I'd even put it in, but I guess it just helps me relax. ...
silverwolf88 said:What kind of music do you usually listen to?
I guess I’m mostly into pop music—it doesn't really matter if it's pop-rock, synth-pop, or just some other flavor of pop, I suppose.
I don't really stick to just one genre, though I might say indie rock, punk, or post-punk are kind of my foundation. But honestly, most of what I listen to... I don't really know how I'd categorize it, and I don't think I feel much of a need to define it either, as long as I'm enjoying it.
Well, I suppose I mean mainstream in that sense. I don't really listen to that kind of stuff normally—my taste leans toward completely different genres—but it was actually pretty fun to revisit some of those bands I picked up from friends. They’re just great for blowing off some steam. It's similar to how I feel about certain punk bands (though not all of them; for instance, The Clash is much more than that to me, and they always will be). I'd say I'm open to just about any genre, provided it isn't that whole black metal neo-Nazi scene involving those Norwegian hillbillies.
I feel like you can find something worthwhile in almost anything if you look closely enough, and lately, I've found myself listening to some really solid death metal. It just happened to match my mood perfectly today. 😁
Jacob Lopez51 said:I used to get such a rush from that. That pure adrenaline hit you get from death metal—technical, technical brutal, just straight-up brutal stuff. I suppose it’s true that you really need to mix up your genres. If you just hammer away at brutal death metal all day, I guess your brain might start to go a bit numb, kind of like how people get hooked on hardcore fetish content.
Black metal feels more about the atmosphere, you know? It's more about that feeling, the coldness, the nihilism, and the satanic themes.
For instance, if you look at how legendary black metal musicians like Samoth and Trym actually started a death metal band Zyklon. I don't think anyone else has really pulled that off—transitioning from black metal to composing death metal and actually being successful at it. They are just incredibly talented, brutal musicians, I guess.
That's exactly what I mean. Please, don't post those kinds of disgusting links. I'm talking about mainstream death metal, heavy, thrash, and speed.
Henry Morris4 said:It definitely has an impact, I mean, I started out listening to chat Cradle of Filth and stuff like that. I guess as you grow up, your taste in music evolves right along with you. Nowadays, I can't really imagine myself sitting down to listen to bands like chat Cradle of Filth, Behemoth, Arch Enemy, or Children of Bodom anymore. That felt more like a specific teenage phase for me, I suppose. Now, whenever I hear growling or anything similar, it just honestly irritates me so much. 😁
A few weeks ago, I actually found myself playing some chat Cradle of Filth out of pure nostalgia. I listened to a few tracks actively, but I don't think I could ever go back to listening to that kind of music on a daily basis. And it’s definitely destructive and affects a person... because if it didn't have some sort of influence, I guess everyone would just be listening to the exact same thing all the time. 😉
I watched Lords of Chaos recently, and it seems like so-called Black metal is just pure negativity and hatred. I'm not quite sure if it influences people or if it just attracts people who are already like that. It's probably a bit of both, maybe.
silverwolf88 said:I’m feeling pretty low lately, honestly. It’s been a couple of days since my cat showed up, and she was doing so well the last time I saw her. It seems like some people around here just don't have any respect for animals; they speed through residential neighborhoods where pets live, and I've even heard rumors about people poisoning cats. I have another cat and a dog from my aunt that my mom looks after, but my brother told me she actually had a fall yesterday and ended up in the hospital—apparently, she broke her leg.
I don't really intend to hang around that forum much longer either. After you sent me that link about women in leggings, I spent some time browsing the women's section and realized just how many of them seem to be against me. It feels like there aren't many women on that site who actually like me; maybe it's because they all live such comfortable lives compared to mine, which might be why they act that way toward me, but history isn't over yet.
I actually know of a case where someone with a little colony of cats lost one right after another close companion passed away. He hadn't seen her for months and just assumed she had perished somewhere. Then, he went to visit a friend he'd met after the disappearance and found out the cat was right there, alive and well. The guy told him she had just shown up at his place and had been living there for a while already. ☕ Cats sometimes decide to move out temporarily; something just calls to them and they wander off, only to show up again later. We used to have a cat that would stop by every single afternoon. He’d eat a little something—if he approved of whatever was being cooked that day, I guess—and then take a nap on the couch before heading out. It was pretty obvious he was someone's pet. We actually had a nickname for him, Telesfor. 😍
It seems like everyone is always such a huge fan of Jacko and Meg; I honestly can't recall ever meeting anyone who would actually call them their "main" band. 😁
On a different note, have you been following those religious processions moving through various cities? In a totally deregulated place like Miami, people were out there shouting ZDS, and then I read that in New York City, they were basically walking in circles praying Hail Mary. 🤦
edit Removed some irrelevant stream of consciousness; I guess I just got a little carried away when I saw someone from the Ebote Institute pop up in the chat Cradle of Filth - Existence.
silverwolf88 said:I'm not quite sure when you moved to Ireland, or if you've actually lived there since birth? Maybe you just didn't care for life back in America and decided to move away like so many others? I assume you didn't arrive empty-handed, though—it would be pretty tough to show up without any savings and try to hunt for a job and an apartment in Ireland while basically being homeless. Regardless, I suppose it isn't easy to relocate to a new place without resources when you have to start from scratch, especially since today's world seems so incredibly driven by material things, which I guess makes building genuine friendships a bit harder. The world is wide open, I suppose, but my struggle is that my English isn't great, so I end up relying on Google translate, though if I were fluent, I probably wouldn't even be posting on this forum, or maybe I'd just pop in occasionally to say a quick hello
To give a very simple answer regarding leggings: they matter to me because there are plenty of women in the States who feel strongly that men shouldn't wear them, and I really don't want to deal with any kind of bullying or be pressured into feeling ashamed of being a man or hiding my gender because of it. evo tu links
I did move, but maybe we could talk about something else besides leggings? Do you happen to have a dog or a cat?
I actually went through and read that long thread too, and honestly, it’s not as simple as just saying "move to somewhere like Berlin" (though maybe Dublin would work given how liberal it is, but I doubt you'd find nearly as many like-minded people there since those specific interests are pretty niche for such a small area—you'd basically be fishing in a tiny puddle).
I have a feeling you won't end up moving, but luckily we have the internet—you can always find groups online where people share those exact same interests (whether it's math, astrology, or the occult) because the whole world is wide open to you now.
If I were in your shoes, I guess I'd probably start by figuring out why those esoteric things mean so much to me in the first place. And then, maybe go from there.
Mark Cruz15 said:Real metalheads can't stand chat Cradle of Filth because they were basically the first extreme band to sell out once they signed with Sony. Maybe you could give some of those commercial symphonic vibes a shot and see if Dimmu Borgir works for you. I actually stumbled into one of their shows back when I was young and naive in Vienna. That was pretty much my first encounter with Satanists in real life.
I don't really vibe with Cradle, I guess it’s just included to attract the IT crowd. They linked Ship Dimmu Borgir, but I'm just not into that Norwegian true black metal or whatever it is. I prefer music that actually carries some kind of emotion—even if it's just pure rage, like that Carcass track I shared earlier, which is honestly such a great thing 😁. I thought Gojira was good, and stuff like Paradise Lost. Tiamat, too. (I'll leave out heavy and thrash metal for now; I used to be a big fan of Maidene, but by the time I got into this genre, I was already starting to dig punk anyway).
cosmicgull52 said:It took me a while to realize that putting CoF in the title would just draw in people who NON-IRONICALLY love them. 😵
Speaking of which, this is pretty much the only song of theirs I've ever been able to stomach (aside from that Sisters cover, though technically that isn't "theirs"):
I had the exact same thing in mind when I was deciding whether or not to start this thread.
