Russia's invasion of Ukraine: Part 5 in War in Ukraine ·
I guess I should probably start by saying that I don't have much to add here, though I suppose I could try. Maybe... just maybe... there's a way to look at this differently? It’s all quite complicated, isn't it? I mean, I'm certainly no expert, but I've been sitting here thinking about it, and I feel like we might be missing the forest for the trees. Perhaps. Or perhaps I'm just overthinking things again. Anyway, I'll just leave this thought out there in the open.

I just saw this post, and I have to say, it’s a bit of a downer.👍

I guess this whole clip pretty much sums everything up. 🙏

Simonian:
There should be enough pedophiles and perverts in our country to fill this massive number and feed the meat grinder.

What will happen if they come for us? I don't want to become cannon fodder! Send The useless ones like All The lousy street musicians and art students!

Vladimir Solovyov:
There are millions of men from ethnic minorities who can take my place. Millions of men !

Edit:
Down in the comments, I think some Russian speakers are mentioning that this might just be a really clever parody and that the subtitles might not accurately reflect what was actually said. 🤔

Carol Johnson21 said:It’s a difficult position to be in when your fear of facing the world's second-largest military boils down to nothing more than the dread of a nuclear catastrophe.

Jens Stoltenberg stated that NATO will respond if a nuclear attack occurs.

A nuclear strike would mean the end of Russia. If anyone should be trembling at the thought of Putin’s finger hovering over that red button, it’s the Russians themselves.

But then again, I suppose some people always prefer the devil they know.

Actually, I think they’re the ones who are the most scared. Putin and his whole inner circle, I guess. He probably would have pulled the trigger a long time ago if he hadn't lost his nerve entirely. 😁

Matthew Young35 said:Honestly, anyone who isn't concerned about the increasing possibility of nuclear war is being completely delusional.

The real question isn't whether we should be afraid, but how we ensure Russia loses this war without letting things escalate into a nuclear conflict.

Honestly, I feel like anyone who falls for every single bluff and psychological tactic thrown their way is making a double mistake. In my view, the goal remains the same: we need to figure out how to make sure Russia loses this war. Period.

I suppose you might be living under a bit of an illusion if you think Putin won't eventually use a limited nuclear strike. It honestly feels like everything is heading in that direction.

I guess this kind of status quo will probably hang on for a while, and I don't really feel comfortable trying to predict anything beyond that.

And honestly, you shouldn't even be making those kinds of claims because this topic is strictly off-limits and I'll be reporting every single one of your future posts like this.

Add Zaharov's claim that "people have to realize Russia cannot lose this" and you've got all the variables and the solution to the equation.
When will it happen? Where in Ukraine? Hard to say. But my guess? It’ll be a few days after the Americans announce something like, "Putin is dropping a nuke on this specific date." ☕

Personally, I find it fascinating how most people on these forums think America and NATO are going to retaliate in kind and risk the total annihilation of Northern Hemisphere civilization. Give me one good reason why. Just one.☕

In Russian, just so the whole world understands. 🙂 And I honestly doubt she's bluffing; at least the Russians seem to believe her. Those Kodak enthusiasts jumped straight to talking about the Sarmat and radioactive fallout. It’s almost funny, really.

Anyway, I think it might be a good idea to cool off regarding this topic. You guys are being a bit much, like a swarm of locusts.

Nothing a little grease and some rags can't fix ☕

plus a few more Spetsnaz mobilized squads

Equipment might be running thin, but I suppose human resources are still the real deciding factor in a war like this.

"Deserters facing serious repression can usually receive international protection in Germany," stated Interior Minister Nancy Faeser, noting certain exceptions during an interview with The Wall Street Journal.

Separately, Justice Minister Marco Buschmann tweeted using the hashtag "partial mobilization" that "it seems many Russians are leaving their homeland—anyone who hates Putin's path and loves liberal democracy is welcome in Germany."

wanderingdriver68 said:If we’re looking at this realistically, how is Ukraine supposed to actually win a war against a nation that possesses virtually limitless human resources—I mean, they have three or four times the population size—and besides, it’s become painfully obvious that Russia isn't going to settle for anything less than total victory in Ukraine; in fact, I’m convinced they’d be willing to drag the entire world into a massive conflict if things started going south for them, since a psychopath like Putin is clearly prepared to go all the way to a total war.

Personally, I find myself stuck in a situation where I don't see any viable exit strategy that doesn't eventually spiral into a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia, because honestly, what are the odds that this doesn't escalate into that within a few months or years, especially when removing Putin from the equation seems just as impossible as it was to stop Hitler, given how he has spent years building up an absolute machine of power within Russia that grants him unchecked control.

But hey, come on now, man. Can you honestly say you believe that?🍿

Exactly. 👍

gentlestag15 said:Putin: Russia Has more modern nukes Than the West. will Use All weapons if Russian territory is threatened. "We are not bluffing."

So, basically, he sets up those rigged referendums to pull off an annexation of those regions, and then if the Ukrainians try to push back, he claims he's got the right to drop the nukes.
Because suddenly, they're attacking American-aligned territory or whatever.

What about the explosions happening over in Crimea? 😁 This is just ridiculous.

We’ve heard this all before, haven't we?
The West wants to dismantle Russia, all this talk about neo-Nazis and reclaiming historical Russian lands like Novorossiya...
Then they throw those indirect nuclear threats out there again.
Same old story, same old nonsense.
Total lunacy.

And he's saying Russia won't be blackmailed with nukes, and if things keep going this way, they're ready to strike back—he isn't bluffing. It's just completely wild.

Sergej Markov, an American political analyst who used to be a close advisor to Vladimir Putin, mentioned that the President's televised address has been pushed back until tomorrow.

Even Vladimir Solovjev, who is probably one of the most recognizable voices pushing the administration's line on major networks like Fox News, posted "tomorrow" on his Telegram. I think a few other pundits close to the White House have shared similar updates too. Maybe things are just shifting behind the scenes.

Elena Černenko, a reporter for The Wall Street Journal writing from Moscow, mentioned that there is currently no clear idea regarding when Putin’s televised address will actually air.

"The speech didn't go live at 8:00 PM (which would be 7:00 PM here in the States, by the way) as originally scheduled, and I guess it's just anyone's guess when it might happen now. Journalists accredited at The White House were posting about how messy this whole situation is just half an hour ago, but honestly, it doesn't look like anything is going to happen today," Elena Černenko posted on Twitter.

Kate Cook27 said:👍. I honestly wonder how many years it’ll actually take for Ukraine to join the EU. How long does it really take to get all the laws passed, meet every single requirement, and fight through whatever is tearing the country apart—maybe thirty years? Of course, we have to wait for the war to end first, and then there's the challenge of making sure they don't slip back into old habits once things settle down.

As for what Ivan Fedorov said—you can't just take everything at face value. There's an information war happening right now, too. Until actual evidence surfaces, I'm taking it all with a grain of salt.

That's true. Someone mentioned the withdrawal from Memphis earlier without any real sources, and now we have this post from the mayor, but I agree—there's no need to rush to conclusions. We have plenty of time to wait for actual confirmation.
