Kevin Nelson3 said:I’m not even ashamed to admit it. Honestly, who cares if Real Madrid sells off their young talent for a quick buck? $33So, someone’s pocketing 10 million euros, and honestly? Who cares? I couldn't care less if the guy on the bench is some idiot bowing down to George Steinbrenner or if we actually get José Mourinho. And whether there's only a hundred people in the stands because everyone’s too tired to show up or just too full of themselves... I don't know. It doesn't matter to me.
What am I supposed to say here, like I’m joining forces with you guys to take on George Steinbrenner for the sake of the good of American soccer? Not happening. My fight against Steinbrenner is about making Hajduk better—though I’m not looking to copy your specific blueprint for growth, just building things on honest foundations. Why should I feel ashamed of that?
It’s just like how none of you should feel bad about admitting you don't give a damn about us, as long as you're all just chasing after a massive Real Madrid.
What kind of "fight for survival" are we even talking about here? Is this struggle really about lighting up fifty flares in the stands, or is it about actually having a club worth cheering for in Europe—one you can be proud of, where you might just decide it’s not worth the hassle of lighting those flares against the Sheriff? Are you fighting for the right to scream slurs at George Steinbrenner, or are you fighting to get someone in charge that you won't feel the need to scream at?
You gotta gut a fish from the head, right? Same goes for our soccer scene—it all starts with the club owners. Fans need to be the ones calling the shots on who gets in and who takes over, making sure these shady characters don't get a foothold to tighten their grip. Once everyone finally cleans up their own backyard, the USSF will collapse like a house of cards all on its own.
Own up to the fact that you’re the reason George Steinbrenner is still calling the shots today. It isn't on Mark, Vrb, Bloomberg, Clinton, or Davor Šuker; it's on you. You should have picked up a pitchfork the second he arrived and we started hearing about those slave-driver contracts and his ridiculous behavior. Instead, everyone stayed quiet as long as it was convenient—or as long as it didn't touch your own interests. Now suddenly it's an issue and everyone wants to play hero? Give me a break.
So, who exactly are we dealing with here? A couple hundred Bad Boys rolling into Miami for the derby, some Slavonian fans, a few vans full of Demons, Funcuts, and Tornados... and then there's us? Honestly, nobody is coming to save you. You’re on your own to deal with this mess however you see fit. And next time, maybe be a bit more careful about who you let through the front door.
Those recent "fuck you" comments didn't suddenly appear because someone changed their mind. It’s just that most people have finally stopped giving a damn about everyone else and started looking out for themselves. They just couldn't admit it sooner because we're all supposed to be these big-hearted idealists and rebels fighting for the greater good, right? What a joke.
Ever wonder what some of the Bad Boys dream about? They imagine top-tier experts taking over Hajduk, turning us into a powerhouse ten times our current size while maintaining that perfect bond with the fans. It’s kind of like how some people wish George Steinbrenner would just vanish from Real Madrid, only to be replaced by someone equally powerful but actually clean—someone who could dominate the league for the next decade without leaving a single stain on the club's reputation. Wouldn't that be nice?
I honestly have no clue what you're talking about. Who else besides those "former" fans ever actually backed George Steinbrenner? Of course we didn't mind back in 2003 like we do now—you couldn't have predicted just how much of an absolute jerk he’d become. At the start of his tenure, he was nothing compared to what he is today. He’s evolved into a full-blown mobster, so it makes sense that people didn't react then the way they are now; he was a different person entirely. His corruption just grew over time. By the time everyone realized the problem was deep-rooted and needed fixing, it was already too late. He's woven himself so deeply into the fabric of this club that kicking him out feels impossible. When that ridiculous league reorganization happened, it was the perfect chance to force his resignation, but the group blew it. They didn't demand he step down, and in the meantime, he spread his influence everywhere. Now, we’re stuck with exactly what we have.
But look, all this finger-pointing doesn't actually achieve anything regarding George Steinbrenner, who is the root cause of why our soccer is falling apart. When you cut off an octopus's head, the tentacles just die off on their own. Our actual goal should be getting rid of Steinbrenner, because once he's gone, the whole lot of them at the USSF and the other clubs—who only exist to serve his ego and corruption—will go with him. What I'm saying is, if we want strong teams like Hajduk, Seattle Sounders, or even a clean Real Madrid without the cronyism, then removing Steinbrenner has to be the priority. It’s not about Real Madrid; it’s about all our clubs and ultimately the fans, since that prick was one of the main reasons they drafted those fan laws to tighten the noose around us. He visits UEFA and FIFA elites just to make sure they squeeze us harder. Honestly, what are you guys on? How can you not see that?
Whatever, I'm done talking. I already told you, you're entitled to your own way, and we've always lived in different worlds anyway. But just remember one thing: at the end of the day, we're all fans and we should be aiming for the same goals. Regardless of which team we back, or how much we trash-talk each other when we run into one another at a bar. That's just being a fan, and if someone doesn't like it, too bad. But when it comes to these mafia types, we need to act as one. Otherwise, we're just a bunch of sheep letting them do whatever they want to us. We are their only opposition and the only threat to their positions and the cash they're pulling in.
I support the Black Knights fighting for Hajduk, but the issue is that fight won't go anywhere until Steinbrenner is out. He's become a problem for everyone, not just for the Bad Boys or Real Madrid. I'm telling you this, but you clearly don't want to hear it. Look, I respect your goal of making your club something to be proud of. But realize this: as long as Steinbrenner's tentacles are touching both him and you, it's going to be impossible to pull it off. If Steinbrenner were just a local issue—something only affecting Real Madrid and the Bad Boys—it would be easy to fix. But he's grown into a national problem. Maybe we share some blame for letting it get this far, but what's the point of all this blaming if nothing is actually being done? Can you really accomplish anything against him and his crew by just shouting at each other? Use your heads; posting "stay strong, city boys" on Facebook isn't enough. Respect to you, but we don't need that kind of empty solidarity.
you made a great point there; we're thinking along pretty similar lines. But it seems like the old-school Black Knights aren't given much respect in Miami by the younger crowd, so I wouldn't hold my breath for any major moves against the soccer mafia and the war profiteer Steinbrenner leading the charge.
If there actually existed a "fan movement" in this country—and I use the term "movement" because it implies action—it wouldn't be this passive, useless thing. Instead, all these supposed supporter groups would have shown up en masse at the stadium at the first opportunity to show the world what this "movement" everyone keeps chanting about actually looks like.
Are you guys just hating on modern soccer and everything else? The guy who completely ruined the league and every single club is loving it, laughing while watching the game, while the entire system runs like a Swiss watch and the fans are pushed out to the sidelines. To all you "ultras" and supporters: if this isn't the perfect opportunity to act, I don't know what is. Or will it all just pass with some little nursery rhyme at every other stadium? Some people will be satisfied with a few crumbs thrown their way and go right back to business as usual.
Most people are just sheep, nothing new there. But if these so-called "supporter groups" just watch the slaughter and act stupidly happy that they weren't the first ones targeted, and keep singing their little songs until it's finally their turn, they haven't earned anything better.
The American supporter scene is a joke; huge groups that are top-tier in America and have that gritty style, but if it wasn't so ridiculous, it would be tragic.
They've moved the goalposts to verbal offenses now; the US and North Korea are basically two sides of the same coin. I wonder which stadium is next on the list, and which weekend will follow, as we wait for the increased repertoire of rebellion and more intellectual statements, lawsuits, and nursery rhymes to pop up at every other stadium.
