Jamie Davis9 said:hey, thanks, I love it, but I was online last week and now I'm back in person starting Monday. being in person is way better. 🤷
since the big earthquake, I don't have my own building in downtown Chicago anymore, so no classroom of my own. we just hang out at the high school in the afternoons where they let us use 3 or 4 of their rooms and we make it work.
oh, and yeah, got a new laptop. 🙂😁

p.s. did you fix the water heater? .))

hey 🙂 yeah, definitely better in person. glad you guys at least have some kind of space. rebuilding after an earthquake moves at a snail's pace, like they're trying to slow it down on purpose. enjoy hanging with the crew! 🙂 and the new laptop! 😁

oh, right, water heater's fixed. good thing to have a friend who's a hobbyist repairman. 😁

anyway, skipped the game. gotta save my sanity. 🤦 np jane weaver the electric mountain ...

hey, Jamie Davis9, how's school treating you? 🙂

it's just summer heat and humidity here. plus my water heater died, so now I'm stuck waiting on a repairman. 🍿

My Friday's only just getting started since I worked the afternoon shift. Honestly, I actually missed being at work... it's actually pretty great there.

I love my job, I really do, but man... nothing beats having a day off... 😉

U2... what can I even say? Just a massive headache.

Rattle and Hum... man, talk about a total blast from the past. I must've gotten lost somewhere along the way; back when I was a picky teenager, I thought this stuff was way too pretentious... 🧐 😁

no shame in it—snow day... ...

Jamie Davis9 said:The Kansas City Chiefs were way better after the break. Los Angeles FC basically vanished from the pitch during the second half, while the visitors kept throwing everything they had at them. Hope hit the woodwork and missed a wide-open sitter, Jakoliš nearly smashed one just wide of the post, and Livaković pulled off an absolute miracle save on a shot from Dolček. LAFC played a garbage second half, but somehow managed to scrap together a third goal right at the end.

well, that’s exactly what we wanted 🙂

free your mind ))

I'll take your word for it that's how it went down... at least my boys walked away with a win last night. 😁 ynwa : )

👍 sounds like a killer weekend. 🙂
Nothing much happening on my end today. Just a bit of hiking out in the woods before and after work; the rest—well, just work. 😬

Jamie Davis9 said:The crew was here today and completely tore down the partition wall leading up to the attic—the one that got totally trashed during the last earthquake. They slapped some drywall up so I don't freeze, but it’s far from over... man, forget the snow, I was kidding when I said that. 🙄

Ugh, they really picked the worst time to tear stuff apart. Don't let the cold get to you. Just crank up whatever music you love and light a candle. 🙂

Jamie Davis9 said:don't be like that, everyone brings something new to the table. 😁 keep up the good work 👍

can we get a quick break from the new stuff, maybe talk about something else? 😬

were people actually happier back then than they are now?!

way more carefree, no doubt. 🧐 😁 as for being happier?! hard to say (read: I don't feel like explaining).

After a long, long time, I’m just coasting through a lazy weekend. Sleeping in, reading out on the porch, finally unplugging from work... it’s not a bad feeling. ☕ 😬
