What did you (intentionally) miss? in Movies ·
Never even touched a single Star Wars, American Pie, or Fast & Furious movie 😁

Jesse Watson37 said:What have you guys intentionally skipped? Which movie did you start only to realize halfway through that it just wasn't for you? Is there something on your watchlist you can't seem to get around to? And which films did you reject, and why?
To the horror of most of you (maybe not), I’ll admit I’ve skipped every single Harry Potter movie. Why? Simple: I’m just not into wizards or that kind of fantasy. I gave it a shot, but it didn't stick. I was bored.
I'm also not big on superheroes, monsters, or vampires. For instance, I have zero desire to sit through the Twilight Saga, and honestly, I regret even watching Van Helsing.

I actually had nightmares just from watching the trailer yesterday, let alone sitting through the full movie. They claim it’s based on "true" events, which we all know means 99.1% of it was cooked up just for the drama. In my opinion, the grossest part of the trailer was that scene where the girl uses a flashlight to look into a mouth, and then two fingers start crawling out of her throat... honestly, that was just revolting. 🤣

I honestly don't get the point of horror movies anymore... it feels like they're just designed to mess with the heads of sensitive viewers. I once knew someone who was literally paralyzed in her seat at a theater after a horror movie and had to be rushed out by paramedics. Where are the good horror movies? You know, the ones with giant desert worms hunting people down... or those fun horror comedies. Those are more my speed.

And don't even get me started on how much they film about zombies these days. 🤮
At least the zombies back in the 80s were slow; these new ones have somehow learned how to sprint. 😂

What a bunch of nonsense. It’s all just garbage. Believe me, I know! 😁

Which movie was she watching? 😁

And they don't just run, they actually sneak up on you too. 🤣

Here’s some light reading for you 😁 :

The Avatar avatar is a masterpiece—hands down the greatest movie ever made. Even though there isn't even a script written for the sequel yet, whatever. I already know it’s gonna be perfect and that Avatar will end up being the greatest franchise of all time.🙂

The director actually said that movie was his main inspiration 🙂

> is a horror flick directed by Sam Raimi and produced by Sam Raimi himself. It’s set to hit the Sundance Film Festival first.
The setup: A kid picks up this old box at a yard sale—it's got some Jewish inscriptions carved into it—and suddenly EM (Natasha Calis) is totally obsessed with cracking it open. Her dad thinks the thing was built specifically to stay shut, but it doesn't matter. EM starts acting wild and violent. Since her folks just went through a divorce, they don't catch onto the weirdness right away, but things escalate fast. Fearing for their daughter, Clyde (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Kyra Sedgwick) try everything to fix it—from medical brain scans to talking to rabbis—to figure out what kind of supernatural freak show is inside that box and how to stop it from tearing EM apart.

Bryan Ramos5 said:It’s supposed to be a psychological thriller—so don't expect much gore.

I'm not even talking about blood (that stuff doesn't phase me 😁)—I mean those creepy, unsettling scenes every horror movie needs... especially since IMDb lists this thing as a horror too.

The trailer doesn't look all that crazy, but with Tom Felton and Ashley Greene in it, it might actually be worth a watch 😁
The X-Men series (2000-2019) in Movies ·
casualhound42 said:This is easily the most idiotic and completely useless entry in the entire X-Men series—honestly, it feels like someone ran out of ideas or cash and just rushed this through production to get it over with. They could have just given every single character their own standalone movie instead; then we might actually have had a decent franchise.
I don't get it—Wolverine is such an unlikable character. Why on earth do so many people identify with him?? 🤷

That's actually the plan. 🤣

I don't relate to him personally, but I like him fine. He's the only character in the X-Men series, X2, or The Last Stand who actually has a personality—everyone else feels totally hollow. (Except Magneto and Raven).

Laura Chavez56 said:By the way—I was just browsing through IMDb, and apparently, they have it listed that the next X-Men film (which would be the sequel to First Class) is slated for a 2014 release.🤷

Yeah, and they've got that Wolverine spin-off called The Wolverine coming in 2013. 🙂

I’ll just wait until this new movie actually drops before I cast my vote.

P.S. - you could've thrown a poll in for Superman too 😁

we'll get to that once Man of Steel drops😁

Laura Chavez56 said:X-Men: First Class is honestly incredible. I’m still sitting here scratching my head trying to figure out if they're calling this a full-on reboot or just a prequel... 🤷

God, I really hope it's a reboot—the original trilogy always felt a bit forced to me, almost artificial, and it never quite did justice to what makes mutants so compelling. This? This is finally heading in the right direction.

Sorry to let you down, but that prequel is... 😢
Look, I love Wolverine as a character, don't get me wrong—but those first three movies focused way too much on him. It felt like everyone else was just standing there as background noise, only present to show off their cool powers. 🤷
Storm was easily my favorite, but let’s be real—she was totally useless in that lineup. As for Cyclops, Jean, and Xavier? Honestly, I can't even decide which one is more annoying. But man, Magneto, Mystique, and Pyro were absolute killers. 👍 Rogue used to get on my nerves at first—super irritating—but now? She’s basically my favorite. 😁 Maybe it’s just because Anna Paquin was pretty pathetic in the first movie—at least in my book—but she actually stepped it up later on.
Honestly, everyone in X-Men: First Class was solid—even Shaw worked for me. Not really a huge Kevin Bacon fan otherwise, though.
Word on the street is they’re kicking off filming for X-Men: First Class 2 this spring.
