bluebison47 said:I mean, every town should have a sign, regardless of whether it's got one house or 10,000 houses. It’s just so people actually know where they are.🤷
brightpilot6 said:It doesn't matter what their intentions are. It’s like when a faucet either bursts or starts dripping so incessantly that life becomes unbearable.
If there was ever a moment to make some serious cuts, this is it.
Of course, the heavyweights of crony capitalism and those who live off the public teat are still firmly in power, so we won't see any planned reforms anytime soon. But there are other ways things could play out—perhaps people will finally lose their patience and actually show up at the polls, or maybe we'll hit total bankruptcy and be forced into a healthier economic scenario under pressure from our creditors.

restlesssurfer97 said:There are probably two or three different ways this could go down, and honestly, people are just drifting from one option to the next without even having a pass 🤣
I mean, look at how much Vojkovic totally messed up today regarding those passes 🤣
You can't just fire miserable people who are stuck in useless positions because they're part of the bureaucracy; that’s just not the solution 👋
restlesssurfer97 said:Anyone who actually manages to get a government bureaucrat fired should probably just be handed a Nobel Prize on the spot 🙏🙏

brightpilot6 said:Nobody truly has a solution for this situation, especially not under a government as inept as ours.
Our support measures for entrepreneurs are nothing more than a joke.
But if this whole ordeal is just some predictable, petty squabble in Split, then so be it; perhaps then we might actually see better days.

People are stuck in isolation, they aren't even allowed to leave their houses, and now you want to slap them with a pink slip and strip away their financial stability? Seriously, what are they supposed to live on?
Paul Sanders5 said:Another brilliant move from the top brass. If you head out somewhere without a pass, you're looking at a $30k fine. Break quarantine? That'll be an $8k hit. 🤣
Seriously, just screw it. We’re getting exactly what we deserve. 😁

This has become absolutely sick...
ruggedjackal46 said:If I actually had the answers to those questions, I’d be walking up to collect a Nobel Prize in Economics by now. But honestly, I’m pretty sure the solution isn't to just go out and wreck the public sector at the exact moment the private sector is stalling and failing to hire anyone. It’s not like the government doesn't have enough on its plate without adding a massive wave of new unemployed people to the mix.
Michelle Palmer6 said:That sounds great in theory, but reality is telling a different story. Right now, a huge chunk of the people on ventilators aren't even part of that high-risk demographic.
That’s exactly my point—we missed the boat, and now we're scrambling to fix it.
And look at this.
This is hurting us ten times more than any lack of testing ever could. Think about it: what does it actually matter if you tested someone from this bus negative earlier? By default, you should assume a portion of them is positive and asymptomatic. Now, instead of playing guessing games, you can just put the whole bus into self-isolation automatically without needing a single test.
restlesssurfer97 said:Do you guys at least agree that massive, widespread testing really ought to be one of the top priorities in this whole fight, regardless of how much the bill actually comes to?
And if you aren't on board with that, what's your reasoning?
