What a freaking legend.🙏

But that whole thing with Oprah...🤣
restlesssurfer97 said:GQ has to frame things this way because he knows the truth about that little mini-dictator is going to come out pretty soon anyway, so he’s basically just setting himself up to say he hasn't changed his mind once the dust settles and he can claim he stood his ground the whole time.

That scrawny Argentinian has been playing dirty since he was a kid. And nobody says a word.🙏

Dejan Lovren and Bill Gates 🙏

I guess it's weird that nobody here even mentioned this 🙏

Beroš doesn't even know how much we paid them, then suddenly Capak jumps in claiming 100 tests cost $4,500 🤣

You seriously don't have to be such a complete piece of trash just to reach the top, and if anything, history shows us that's definitely not the case.

It's actually Episode 6 🤷

...unless you haven't watched a single thing.

What's truly messed up about him is how he looked for that "drive" in everything. He turned everything into a competition. You couldn't even look at him the wrong way without it being framed as a lack of drive.

Compared to Jordan's level of obsession, Kobe is practically a toddler.

If Jordan hadn't been that kind of guy, he probably never would have grabbed the title.

Elizabeth Mendoza said:What did he say? I missed the press conference

They asked him, "Who’s supposed to take the kids to school if people over 65 can't do it and parents are working?"

Capak just replied, "I don't have an answer for that."

Capak's take on schools is top-tier 🙏

I don't really care if stores are closed or not, but honestly, either shut everything down or don't bother at all... this selective enforcement is the worst part.

When is the debate about the Masses happening today?

That's what we're waiting for, I guess.

Did I read this right? So an employer just transfers $833 and there's zero tax taken out, and that's the end of it?

The government isn't offering any kind of incentive to actually pay this in?

So, here in San Diego, they actually discharged someone with COVID by mistake.

The director offered an apology, while our local hero Beroš basically brushed it off, saying it's no big deal and stuff happens.

brightpilot6 said:Look, if we’re really looking at this through that lens, then a total collapse means waiting six months just for a routine medical checkup. But I’m not talking about isolated incidents here. I am talking about a sweeping legal, economic, and social breakdown that, if left unchecked, acts like a nuclear bomb—making a month spent staying home due to policy seem like nothing more than a light haze of cigarette smoke.

But fine. It seems your analysis has led you down one path, while I’ve ended up somewhere else entirely. Whether we justify these measures or not is ultimately up to us, isn't it? After all, we don't all process the world in quite the same way.

Exactly.

And you can't call me an idiot just because I don't see eye to eye with you.

Honestly, we dealt with bigger issues from the flu than we ever did with Corona. At least here in the States. I don't know about other countries, but there are probably plenty of places just like this. Whatever.

You’d think people would be lining up outside local clinics to get their shots before flu season kicks off, but they don't. Why? Probably because the flu isn't "sexy" enough.

God willing, your wild claims turn out to be accurate. But honestly, it’s incredibly reckless to try and build plans or manage any significant system—let alone an entire nation—based on nothing more than baseless speculation.

I also feel like everyone is underestimating the sheer social and economic fallout caused by unchecked panic. Such chaos doesn't actually require objective data; it just needs a single rumor suggesting that hospitals are at capacity and the government is sitting idly by. In response, many nations decided to seize control of the narrative, focusing heavily on preventing hysteria—sometimes even overcompensating with their resource allocation. I would likely take the same approach, simply because I can't see any other responsible alternative that would prevent mass panic and a potential uncontrolled collapse.

And besides, who says the forecasts were entirely wrong? Those initial projections were modeled on societies operating without any interventions. Once the models accounted for actual preventative measures, they began providing rather precise figures.

To me, the collapse happened on the second day of lockdown when my wife got a call telling her not to come into the hospital and that they'd let her know when she was needed again.

Meanwhile, the administration was holding press conferences telling us everything was fine.

It wasn't.

brightpilot6 said:Sweden already has established social habits that naturally slow down the spread of a virus. They have far fewer multi-generational households than we do here in the States. Their standard of living—which usually translates to better overall health and hygiene—is also higher. Sweden doesn't rely on mandates; instead, they have a population that actually listens to guidance.

Why on earth would you think Sweden is the right benchmark for us to follow?

Well, I thought I was being pretty clear.

I just don't think this virus is dangerous enough to justify locking down the entire world.
