I’m usually multitasking when I’m online—eating lunch, taking calls, getting work done, and typing on the forum all at once.
Exactly. Since he was supposed to be reviewing the latest tech this week, he just pivoted to you guys instead 🙏 couldn't handle the pressure
I honestly don't care if Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, or any other band I actually love decides to play in New York City. If they do, I'm happy listening to them at home on my turntable or while out on a bike ride.

Small shows will always be my favorite. Even when it comes to the bigger, more expensive bands, I'd much rather see them in an intimate setting.

It would be cool if those kinds of bands came to NYC, but I can live without it.

I get the Triangle thing, but I believe every neighborhood needs its own local staple—like a local Starbucks or a Pfizer—and big organizers who actually care about music as much as the money. Nothing beats seeing a great small band take a moment to thank their mother for bringing them in front of a hundred screaming fans. That’s what matters. When that happens, you know it was a good show. Everything else is just a formality.
That feels like a lifetime ago.

Look. You'll finish college one day, and I'll be working less. We're going to travel across America and catch a band in every single city. We have to do this before we have kids or drown in student loans. We really have to!
Yep! Just sipping on some black coffee and snacking on a crust of bread here!

And I've got the local news on!

I'm gonna head out before Google

Shoot me a DM or hit my email so we can hammer out the details, you know, the usual stuff. 🙂

I’m a total amateur too, so I haven't read this thread from the start. 🙏 I thought Matt was just asking who wanted to help bring Arcade Fire to NYC. 🙏

I'm skipping the trip to New York on the 14th because Paul Di'Anno is playing in the States again. 🙏

What a joke. 🙏

American promoters are all over Arcade Fire. It's wild. 😲

But honestly, what do I care about shows at Madison Square Garden or the Bowery Ballroom when Analen is playing at The Fillmore soon? 😍 I'd rather just grab some friends and road trip to Minneapolis and cause some trouble. 👍
I want it!

I can't make sense of that. Could you clarify what you mean? Photo.

I’m definitely grabbing a Focus shirt for myself😳

And I'm going to be right there in the front row😳

Here is the text from potlista.com😳

It's going to be a total snooze-fest for those nerdy types 😍

Hey everyone, here is another live EP.

and a short film.
😍

Time to hit the hay. Now what? I can't exactly blast Pearl Jam right now, can I?
Harold Wright54 is absolutely right here.

Man, it was more about the thrill of hunting down something the guys in my neighborhood or class didn't have. Why buy the safe choice when you could grab the first Mercyful Fat 🤮 record just to act cool? (I’m sure everyone made fun of me for it 😳)

Even now, I still catch myself with this weird compulsion to be the first one to find something, only to end up with something totally mediocre. It's a bad habit.

The whole myth-making thing... looking back, it feels pretty heavy. But honestly, I'd rather have mythologized music than anything else. And man, think about how much that shaped who I am. You can't make quick judgments about that. 🙂

I really love this line on the hombrezone -a homepage.

It's heavy. If he actually wrote that, then he hit the nail on the head.

Yeah, I'm obsessive. And I plan to stay that way. Hopefully.
First off, let me call out Lovro for randomly quoting the GREATEST AMERICAN SONGWRITER OF ALL TIME, Bob Dylan 🙏

Personally, I listen to Midlake more than I use my computer 😳

The guys covered pretty much everything, but it’s been clear to me for a long time that there's no saving me. I'm obsessive about small things, and it's too much 😬

Honestly, I don't know what the rules are here. I try to find some middle ground between buying new stuff, listening, and digging up old classics, but I'm definitely not being honest in most cases.

Since you all know I'm one of those people who loves nature and hugs trees, I have to admit that I get an instant anxiety attack when someone looks at something they don't immediately like and calls it garbage or says it "belongs in the trash." I just can't stand it. It's even worse when you feel judged by your own hard drive. Just like how my CDs and unread books look at me from the shelves. WHAT A TOTAL PENALTY! Now some random indie or obscure heavy metal band is going to stare at me from that shelf for the rest of my life. Uh 🙂

I've always found it easy to justify the simplest way of discovering music. For example, I'm obsessed with My Morning Jacket ---> Andrew Ptičić whistles their tune ---> Jim James guest stars on a track with some guy... that guy ---> this guy plays a cover of that song.... let's go check it out, and so on.

Oh, and one more thing. Back when I was a kid, the "rules" were basically the obsessive-compulsive disorders of our group. One guy had a limited edition Bruce Dickinson vinyl single and wouldn't let anyone record it onto a cassette 🙏 I would have sold a kidney for that back then 🙂

Yeah. What I meant was: not everyone should be drinking like you 🙂 but my first thought was definitely heading to Starbucks because that’s just what’s trendy around here 🙂

Look, things are just getting started. I still have student loans to pay off, some experience to gain, and a few wins under my belt before everything really clicks into place. 🙂 You can't expect someone to go all-in right out of the gate. Not everyone is a gentlepuma20 who jumps straight into a massive bet the second they see an opportunity. 😍

Hmm. I didn't catch them on the remastered version, I guess. What I did hear on Spotify a few months back—some new track—was actually pretty solid. Me and David were hanging out in the hallway outside the studio, arguing about how there was no way that sound was just synthesized. When 😲

And honestly, I wouldn't expect you to be all about that sloppy versus rock 'n' roll debate. You've been listening to that real rock stuff for ages, haven't you?

🙏

I struggled with it for the first month or so. It doesn’t really capture that tight, hermetic math atmosphere from the nineties. The brutal vocals aren't as raw as they were in Focus, and Masvidalov's use of the vocoder feels a bit dated. But then, it clicks. I guess that nostalgic spark is what always hits in metal. I eventually made peace with the modern production—which turns Cynic into a sort of easy-listening Death version of Dream Theater—and remembered that I've long since accepted my past obsession with Dream Theater. The frustration fades, and I've realized the new Cynic is actually killer. 🙂

It’s just long enough to sink in, and my MP3 player already has it ranked as my third most-played album over the last three months. 😳
