What's wrong with me? :/ in Health ·
bolddrifter452 said:I hope not. I haven't touched any fever reducers or anything like that for the last 14 hours, and my temp is still sitting at 99.5...
I'm skipping the antibiotics, despite what my doctor keeps pushing. I have zero intention of flooding my system with heavy chemicals.

Does that latest report change anything? Is mono still actually on the radar?🙄

Mononucleosis? Give me a break. 🙄Think of lymph nodes like little tactical command centers that swell up the second your immune system goes on the offensive. It’s basically your white blood cells—your body's internal army—gearing up for battle and mobilizing for a fight.

Just keep hydrating, drink plenty of tea with honey and some propolis, suck on some throat lozenges, and you'll be fine.
I’m feeling a whole lot better today. My throat was absolutely killing me this morning—just constant scratching—but since I’m staying put at home and don't have any plans, I just treated myself to a massive plate of bacon bits and a head of onion. 🙂It’s gone, just like that. Vanished into thin air.👍

I’m dealing with the exact same symptoms you are, plus I can't stop sniffing, though my fever hasn't broken 98.6 until about 100.4.
Honestly, it feels like we both caught the flu. 😢
Keep that fever down. I’ve been using Max Planck, and it does the trick. I also take Julius Caesar with an anesthetic; it actually gave me enough strength to demolish a massive fruit salad, and the real kicker was a bowl of pasta tossed in brandy, olive oil, and honey. It’ll bring anyone back to life. 👍

A friend of mine is dealing with some serious spinal issues.
They've been out on disability for two years straight.
Then one day, some random guy calls her out of the blue just to ask if she’s got it.
What kind of neck or back pain are we talking about here? Give me some specifics.
Of course, my naive little girl will get all wrapped up in this and...
Give the guy his address.
Some guy showed up and started pitching this massage device like it was the second coming of Christ.
He convinced her that those breakouts would clear up just fine, too.
She just cashed out. $1667 😲

He should just hop online, pull up some price comparison sites, and see how the numbers actually stack up against the competition.
My old man fell for it too and picked up one of those massage guns—probably the exact same model. I did a quick search online and found the identical device from the same manufacturer, only the price was three times lower than what he paid. He wasn't having any of it; he called them up demanding a full refund because he felt completely ripped off, even threatening to take the whole thing to the local news. In the end, they gave him his money back, though they did shave a little bit off the top for some reason. $100 Just because he "used" it for a single month. 🙄

There are plenty of companies out there, but I honestly can't tell if this one actually pulled her medical records or if it was just some freak coincidence. It’s hard to say for sure, especially since back in the States, everyone and their mother seems to be dealing with spinal issues these days.
Red Bull in Health ·
Red Bull was pulled from shelves yesterday following recommendations from both the Americas and US authorities. A recent study confirmed that the product does more harm to your health than it actually does for weight loss, especially since it poses a massive stroke risk.
Hepatitis C: Questions and Support in Health ·
How Hepatitis C Spreads

Hepatitis C is a bloodborne disease, meaning transmission occurs when one person's blood comes into contact with another's. The virus lives in the bloodstream of those infected. Most often, the virus enters a new person's system through broken skin or mucous membranes. A significant number of people living with Hepatitis C contracted it through shared injection equipment—think needles, syringes, spoons, cotton, or water. Using non-sterile gear, like tattoo needles that haven't been properly sanitized before piercing the skin, can also pass it along. Even sharing things like razors or toothbrushes with someone who has Hepatitis C poses a risk.

The virus can also be transmitted in these ways:

* Contact with infected blood through cuts, scrapes, or injuries caused by contaminated tools can lead to infection among healthcare workers.
* Hepatitis C can be passed from mother to child, though this happens much less frequently than with Hepatitis B. The risk of transmission through breast milk is considered extremely low.
* There is a very slim, almost negligible risk of transmitting Hepatitis C during heterosexual or homosexual intercourse, unless both partners have open genital wounds. An infected woman could potentially pass the virus to a partner if there is an open sore present during her menstrual cycle.
* Blood donors aren't at risk of contracting the disease this way, and the risk for transfusion recipients is incredibly low nowadays because, since the early 1990s, all donated blood undergoes rigorous screening for Hepatitis C.
Source: Wikipedia

Based on all of this, sexual transmission is rare, and kissing isn't even a factor. This person was on interferon for five or six years; I don't see any chance of you catching it just from hooking up with them.
That stuff about the CDC is total nonsense.🙄 If that were actually true, our infection numbers would be way higher than they actually are.
Now, psychology is a different story. If you can't get your head straight and stop worrying, then just go get tested so you can move on with your life in peace.
This is absolutely insane.

If anyone reaches out to you, call the FBI immediately—but before you do, play along and act interested just to see if you can bait them into revealing their info.
The bottom-feeders peddling fake medication are the absolute lowest scum on the planet.😠
Looking for a reliable TENS unit? in Health ·
Laura Young5 said:I am looking for some advice on purchasing a TENS unit. I’ve undergone spinal surgery and deal with neuropathy (nerve inflammation), so I need a device for pain management, nerve stimulation, and improving peripheral circulation. Which specific TENS model would you recommend? I would also appreciate a breakdown of the differences between 2-channel, 4-channel, and 6-channel devices. I've noticed that price doesn't seem to correlate directly with the number of channels—some 2-channel units cost the same as 6-channel ones. Additionally, the terminology is quite confusing; some devices are labeled specifically for pain relief, others as stimulators, and some simply as massagers. Could someone please clarify these distinctions to help me make an informed choice? Thank you in advance.🙏🙏🙏

The retailer is your best bet for a straight answer on this. You should probably head over to Hospital; they used to carry just about every model under the sun back in the day.

I used to have this TENS unit with two connection points that let you cycle through different pulse types, adjust the intensity, and pick specific programs tailored to whatever part of the body you were treating. It was an absolute game-changer. While I was using it regularly, my muscle knots just weren't an issue at all.
Kimberly Wright said:I sent an email requesting—if there's any way at all—to keep my old schedule...

Look, from what I’ve seen, most people just sit there in silence and take the hit when something like this happens to them. In my experience, the ones who actually make some noise are usually the ones who walk away with exactly what they wanted.
Use that to your advantage—be a nuisance and don't back down!
Kimberly Wright said:Just need a second to collect myself: I just got off the phone with the Mayo Clinic, and they pushed my PET CT appointment back to February 15th.
Look, let’s be clear about what happened here: December was a complete wash. We basically sat on our hands all month, which means we now have a massive backlog of personnel we were supposed to have on the ground back then. We need to get those people scheduled and handled immediately to make up for the lost time. 😕
I’m beyond disappointed. Honestly, I don't even have the words for how much this sucks. 😢

Time is slipping away from my mom... the ideal window to start chemotherapy was back on December 15th.
She’s going to be two months past that ideal window! What am I supposed to do about this?

Try pushing them on the urgency factor and really lean on their clinical expertise. I’m not sure if it’ll actually move the needle, but give it a shot—ask them straight up how much sense it makes to delay a PET scan for an entire month when she's already dealing with a diagnosis like this.
Try to get an MRI scheduled. It’s not exactly the same thing as a PET-CT scan, but it’ll give you some solid boundaries and a better idea of what the next steps should look like.

Damn it all.😠
James Anderson13 said:So, I'm wondering if there are any long-term consequences to swimming in the ocean during the winter months.

Basically, because of some stupid bet, I have to go skinny dipping in the ocean once a month (I just went this morning) 🙄 , and I want to know if there's any chance of catching something hidden, like the flu, a virus, a cold, or even pneumonia (so far, so good), or should I be worried about things like rheumatism or whatever else might pop up?

Oddly enough, I actually feel strangely great after I get out of the water.😁

If you ask me, I'd bet my life you’d end up with a full-blown combo of ovarian inflammation, bladder issues, and pneumonia. It's wild, though—everyone I know who swims in the cold swears they never get sick, claim they don't catch the flu or colds, and insist they're in peak physical condition.

Look, if it makes you feel good, go ahead and dive in—just report back and let us know how it turns out.👍
Look, honey, this realization is absolutely gut-wrenching, but for doctors, people with microcellular cancer are often just "those who come and go quickly." That is a verbatim quote from a top-tier physician at a major organization that is actually supposed to be dedicated to cancer patients. It’s a hopeless diagnosis right out of the gate because they feel it isn't worth wasting precious resources on someone who—in their eyes—is "responsible for their own fate" due to smoking.
...I am just so incredibly sorry you had to endure this; honestly, it makes me sick to my stomach.😢

Please know that there are those of us who feel this deeply, and we aren't just sitting here feeling bad—we are actively working and fighting to shake things up. We want every single person facing cancer to receive equal treatment and have an equal shot at recovery, regardless of their specific diagnosis, the statistics, how they lived their lives, or where in the world they happen to be.
It breaks my heart that you weren't able to get in touch with the Jedro Association for lung cancer patients or our group, "For a New Day," which supports those battling malignancies. They haven't really been brave enough to reply to our inquiries lately. I also regret that you couldn't seek a second opinion or medical consultation abroad. No matter what the outcome ends up being, having an answer to that question would have made today so much easier for you.

Systems are built by individuals. Sometimes, all it takes is one person to drop the ball and everything goes sideways, simply because they failed to do their job properly. 😠

He spent an entire year fighting against it.
Kimberly Wright said:Absolutely pathetic. Just plain tragic.
Our healthcare system should be deeply ashamed of itself.😢
What's the point of all these massive tax contributions, supplemental insurance plans, and out-of-pocket copays if this is the result??

Any diagnostic test labeled "urgent" (which clearly applies here) that gets delayed for more than three months (and honestly, if it’s actually urgent, waiting three months is already way too long)😳can be done through a private clinic, and then you can file for a reimbursement from Medicare.
I have no idea why nobody bothered to tell them that.🤷
Dealing with Herpes? in Health ·
darktinker23 said:Does anyone know why Herpes Simplex flares up? My boyfriend just had his third outbreak on his lip in only a few months. Is there any way to prevent this, or at least stop it from happening so frequently?

Once you catch Herpes Simplex, it’s in your system for good. It’s like a dormant passenger that jumps ship every single time your immune system—the one thing keeping it in check—takes a hit.
The guy needs to focus on boosting his immunity: eat clean, keep up with vitamins, and seriously cut down on stress.

Look, honey, if there was no actual penetration, there is zero chance you're pregnant. Plus, you already had your period.
Your anxiety is completely irrational and honestly looks like it's coming from a massive lack of basic information. You seriously need to educate yourself immediately. You've been through an abortion before, so it’s high time you actually start learning some medical facts and reality.

Elizabeth Bennett said:Please give me some advice. Is there any reason to suspect I might actually be pregnant?

A little spotting could just be ovulation, or it could be minor irritation from friction during sex.

My advice:

If you really want to avoid pregnancy, start using actual birth control.
The "pull-out method" is a massive gamble. That’s exactly how so many people end up in a bind, honey.

well, look... ever since I had an abortion five months ago... whenever I have any kind of contact with a guy... the tremors just stop instantly and this sudden sense of dread vanishes from my body😢 so yeah, there’s definitely a connection here😢((( 🙂

Good grief, honey, I really hope you realize you can't get pregnant just by being around someone socially.

It sounds like you're having a really hard time processing the fact that you lost the pregnancy. You should probably sit down with a therapist and talk through all of this.
