Blood work results - iron levels in Health ·
Sandra Wood45 said:Thanks for the reply!

Is it actually smart to just walk into a pharmacy and try to find something myself, or am I stuck waiting until my doctor's appointment to get any treatment started?

Look, you can definitely help yourself by focusing on iron-rich foods—think liver, artichokes, or pomegranate. Taking some high-quality propolis might also do the trick. Check out:

and her other sister is on the pill... because she has PCOS... and she's been dealing with increased hair growth ever since she started taking them... she's on Diane-35... though I've heard Yasmin is better... I tried talking her into switching to Yasmin... but she won't budge.. and now everyone's losing their minds.

I take Yasmin. My doctor explained that there are basically two types of oral contraceptives. The first type—which includes things like Celest and Yasmin—completely shuts down ovarian function. The second type manipulates how the ovaries work by creating an unfavorable hormone level that prevents conception. That’s the older style of contraception. I'm not entirely sure which category Diane falls into.
One thing is for certain: Big Pharma pours massive amounts of money into researching and refining these pills, and there is a huge difference in quality and effectiveness between what was available ten years ago versus what we have today.

Maybe she should head over to a specialist to see if there’s a better alternative for her, because the ones she's using clearly have nasty side effects.

I actually just typed "Diane-35" into my search engine, and honestly, some of the results were pretty grim. Here's the link:

After reading through that, if I were her, I’d be rushing straight to the doctor to demand Yasmin.

My girlfriend and I have been doing oral for a while now, but we haven't actually had penetrative sex yet...
Now, she suddenly tells me her stomach hurts, she's feeling discomfort down there, and she's dealing with some kind of discharge.

We've been together for quite a bit, and then this just happens out of nowhere. Am I the one to blame here? She’s saying it’s some kind of infection. I'm wondering if I could have passed something to her, though I honestly doubt it since I haven't slept with anyone else before her.🙂

Help me out!

Just because you haven't had full intercourse doesn't mean you couldn't pass over a bacterial infection. Bacteria can thrive on any mucous membrane, including the ones in your mouth.

For what it's worth, you can absolutely catch gonorrhea through oral sex. For example, if a woman performs oral on a guy who has it, the infection can settle right into her throat or tonsils... and that is a massive headache.

Go get yourself a throat swab tested.

My sister is dealing with unbearable pain... nothing we try helps, and she actually needs injections to get relief. She saw her OB-GYN and everything came back "normal," though they did mention an ultrasound showed some old inflammation in her ovaries from way back. She’s also extremely thin—about 5'6" and only 99 pounds. She struggled with anorexia ten years ago...
I really want to know how I can help her or what advice I can give besides just telling her to eat. She won't listen to me, and honestly, our whole family is at a breaking point because she gets thinner every single year (since she doesn't live here in the States). She's 31. She relies on painkillers, but nothing seems to touch the pain... does anyone have any advice? I'd really appreciate it.

During a consultation with a gynecologist at the hospital, he mentioned that women should consider birth control more often. Beyond preventing pregnancy, it can lower the risk of ovarian cancer and help reset the body if there's a hormonal imbalance. Since I started on the pill, I feel like a brand new person, and I see the same thing happening with a friend of mine who used to be incredibly underweight. It helped her appetite and she finally filled out. For me, my skin cleared up, my nails got stronger, I have less hair on my legs, the pain is gone, and my flow is much lighter. I only use about six slim tampons per cycle.
You have to stay on top of the doctors and pester them; otherwise, they aren't going to go the extra mile to make sure everything is handled immediately. You have to be persistent.

I’ve been on long-term birth control using Yasmin to manage my endometriosis. From what I’ve gathered, it’s pretty much the gold standard for contraceptive pills on the market right now. I’ve been taking it for about a year and a half, and honestly, it’s been a total game-changer. My skin cleared up, my cellulite has visibly decreased, and my periods are finally regular and painless—plus the bleeding is super light (it only lasts three days and I only go through about six mini tampons total). Even the PMS is completely gone. I am beyond happy with it.

A year ago, I shared my story about living with chronic pain and my diagnosis of endometriosis. LISTEN, PEOPLE, POPPING PILLS IS NOT THE FIX FOR AGONIZING PERIOD PAINS!!! PLEASE, GO TO A GYNECOLOGIST AND DEMAND AN ULTRASOUND EXAM!!! Endometriosis is becoming increasingly common among women, and if you don't get treated immediately and correctly IT CAN CAUSE MASSIVE PROBLEMS IT CAN EVEN PROGRESS INTO SOMETHING MALIGNANT LIKE CANCER!!!
UNBEARABLE PAIN IS NOT "NORMAL" AND IT MEANS SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOU! GO RIGHT NOW TO YOUR GYNECOLOGIST AND GET THIS SORTED OUT!!
Low Hemoglobin Levels: What should I know? in Health ·
Una67 said:What could be causing low hemoglobin levels, and how can I fix it?
My daughter is currently battling cancer.

Think of hemoglobin as the iron carrier within red blood cells that grabs oxygen from the lungs; without it, your cells can't effectively burn fuel to function. To boost levels naturally, look toward foods high in iron—think liver, artichokes, or beets. You can find plenty of other options if you do a quick search online. As for why it's dropping, it could stem from internal bleeding or might simply be a side effect of chemotherapy. While oral iron supplements are an option, they can be pretty harsh on the stomach.
I’d suggest incorporating some potent antioxidants. They help neutralize those nasty free radicals—which also tend to scavenge iron—so the body can flush them out naturally. In my experience, things like Noni, pineapple, broccoli, beets, or native propolis (www.naturemade.com) can really help.
Hang in there!

Reading through all your posts feels like looking back at my own life from a few years ago. I went through hell with unbearable pain and heavy bleeding. During my worst days, I’d use those "super absorbent" tampons and still layer on a pad because I’d leak through everything anyway. I dragged myself to the gynecologist more times than I can count, only to be met with the same dismissive attitude every single time: "Everything looks fine, pain is just part of being a woman, just take some Advil or Aleve..." and so it went for years. Listen to me, ladies: if you are in agony, that is not normal. Pain is not supposed to be your baseline!
I finally stood my ground and demanded an ultrasound, and sure enough, they found a massive cyst on my left ovary and a few smaller ones on the right. They scheduled me for a follow-up, but thankfully, the cyst hadn't ruptured. The diagnosis? It was most likely endometriosis.
Endometriosis is this condition where cells similar to the uterine lining start growing in places they don't belong—all over your body outside the uterus. Nobody really knows why it happens. These misplaced cells act just like the actual uterine lining, meaning they bleed and cause inflammation, which leads to scar tissue and messes up your entire system. It’s also seven times more common in women struggling with infertility. Essentially, it's not just the uterus bleeding during your period; other spots, like your ovaries, are bleeding too. And let me tell you, it hurts like crazy. The real danger is how much it can wreck your reproductive system, potentially leaving you unable to conceive. There is no permanent cure, and it tends to come back. The only way to manage it is through surgery to remove the damaged tissue, followed by birth control pills to keep the ovaries "quiet" until you're ready to try for a baby, because every new cycle is a fresh chance for it to resurface. The procedure itself is minimally invasive—they do it laparoscopically through three tiny incisions. If you're dealing with agonizing cramps, painful intercourse, or heavy flooding, that is more than enough reason to demand an ultrasound immediately.
I had my surgery this past summer and I'm currently on Yaz. Honestly, I don't even track my period anymore, and the bleeding is so light now that I only need mini tampons—something I wouldn't have dreamed of using before.
Check out and please, go see your doctor. Don't let them just brush you off with a handful of painkillers.
Love, Ivana
