First things first, you really need to get your question posted right here on the forum!
If you just head straight to the doctor without asking us and getting some feedback here first, they aren't going to be able to help you much at all.
Kyle Johnson2 said:Honestly, why reinvent the wheel when the answer is already out there? Just give it a quick search online! Here's a few ways you could handle it:

You can strip that away by highlighting the text and hitting Home => Paragraph => Shading: No Color.
-----------------------
If you're using Word 2010, just head over to File, then Options, then Advanced. Look under the Cut, Copy, Paste section, hit that dropdown for 'Pasting from other programs,' and pick 'Keep Text Only.'
------------------------
For those on Word 2007, click the Office button, go to Word Options, then Advanced. Under Cut, Copy, Paste, find the dropdown for 'Pasting from other programs' and set it to 'Keep Text Only.'
------------------------
You can also just smash that "Clear All Formatting" button right on the Home Tab. Easy peasy!
---------------------
Try this: grab your text and dump it into a basic text editor like Notepad. It'll scrub away all that weird formatting and hidden code instantly!
----------------------
Before you paste, just right-click and choose 'Paste Text Only.' That usually does the trick!

Oh, brilliant! So you really think my issue is just because I didn't "Google it" enough? Seriously? If everyone knew these answers already, this whole thread wouldn't even exist, and you wouldn't have anything to do here either!
1. Of course that isn't the case!
2. I'm using the American version.
Thanks for the "expert" advice, genius!

As for the default number formatting—or the worksheet itself—it’s way easier to just select the sheet and format the numbers directly, though honestly, that's what I've been doing all along anyway.
Walter Jackson48 said:Go to the Control Panel, then hit Regional and Language Options, and then click Customize...

But nothing's changing! It still says two decimal places and uses a comma for thousands!
Hey there!

Does anyone know—please tell me if you do—how I can set Excel to make number cells default to the 1,000.00 format? You know, with commas for thousands and two decimal places? Every single time I open a file, I have to manually format everything. And since I'm constantly dealing with US Dollars, I'm just wasting precious time here... and we all know time is money, right? 🙂

Quick question for Word too:
I haven't quite figured this one out yet—how do you get rid of this weirdness? When I copy stuff from the internet, the entire background of the text comes with it in some random color. The text itself looks fine, but that annoying colored background stays stuck to the whole thing, and I can't find any way to strip it away! How do I kill that color?

Thanks a million! 🙂
Hey there!

Has anyone else ever felt the need to complain about an MRI report or actually ask for it to be re-read?
I’m talking about an MRI scan of my brain and cervical spine that I just had done over at Medikol.
The thing is, I’ve had this exact same imaging done three times over the last few years, so I have plenty of old reports to compare this one against. Usually, at Medikol, you’d wait a whole week just to pick up your results, but this time...
It’s just a few short sentences basically saying "no significant changes," even though the whole reason I'm getting this MRI is to track those tiny, "minor" shifts!
So, here's the deal: 1) they handed me the results immediately, and 2) the report is incredibly vague.

Does anyone know what my rights are when it comes to this kind of thing?

I’m gonna give them a call tomorrow. Thanks for the heads-up!

I heard the exact same thing as Estella—basically, only patients at the Mayo Clinic were covered. Even locals couldn't just walk into their own county hospital without paying out of pocket! Can you believe that?

Where can I get an MRI for my brain and cervical spine in Washington, D.C. using a referral? Looking for the fastest way possible!

earthworms, right? And apparently, the invertebrate category doesn't even count for points! Only mammals and primates get credit. Can you believe that? 😁
Dennis White2 said:So, here’s my take on how things went! Honestly? It was quite the ride. You know how it is when you go into something expecting one thing, but then life just throws a curveball at you? That was basically my whole experience. Just a whirlwind! Was it perfect? Well, let me think... maybe not perfectly polished, but definitely memorable! I kept thinking, "Wait, is this actually happening right now?" and honestly, I loved every second of the chaos. It’s funny how things turn out, isn't it? Just one thing after another! Anyway, that's my two cents! I can't believe we're still talking about this! Seriously, how many times do we have to go over the same ground before it sticks? It feels like we’re just spinning our wheels here, doesn't it? I mean, honestly! And don't even get me started on what Dennis White2 was saying earlier. What was he even thinking? It's like some people just love to stir the pot for no reason at all. Is it a hobby now? A full-time job? Who knows! Anyway, back to the point—which, let's be real, keeps shifting like sand. Does anyone actually think this plan is going to work? Not me! Not even a little bit! We need to stop chasing these wild ideas and actually look at the facts for once. Just once! Wouldn't that be something? It’s all just noise, isn't it? Total noise! But hey, stay positive, right? We'll figure it out eventually... maybe! Haha!

Ugh, seriously? Just go ahead and convince yourself that animals can actually think for themselves! Seriously, just tell yourself that! Just total nonsense! Or maybe just... unprofessional? Honestly, I can't even tell anymore. It's all so silly! Does anyone else feel like we're just spinning our wheels here? It’s honestly kind of ridiculous, isn't it? Just complete nonsense! And you absolutely have to slow down just a little bit... I mean, obviously, if you spot an animal crossing the road! You can't just barrel through, right? Safety first! 🙂

So, I’m out for a stroll this morning, just cruising along the sidewalk at a casual 10 miles per hour, right? And there’s this cat—this little feline shadow—just sitting by my car, staring me down. It was watching me, waiting for me to get closer... and honestly, I thought she was just timing her exit! You know, like, calculating the exact millisecond to bolt so she could make a clean getaway? But nope! She just sat there, waiting for the perfect moment to dart right under my feet! Can you believe that? Just straight under my tires! Pure chaos!

Cats! Seriously, can we just talk about cats for a second? I mean, honestly, where would we even be without them? They’re just... little chaos agents in tiny fur coats, right? One minute they're purring like a little motorboat on your lap, and the next? BAM! They're sprinting across the living room at 3 AM like they've seen a ghost or something! It's wild! Do you ever just stare at them while they're sleeping and wonder what's going on in that tiny brain? Probably nothing. Just vibes and dreams of chasing laser pointers, probably! But man, there's just something about that little attitude they have. You think you own the house? Nope. They own the house. We're just the roommates who pay the mortgage and open the cans of Fancy Feast. Isn't that hilarious? Truly!
They’re constantly getting run over on the road—it happens all the time! And this time? They almost got taken out by a cyclist, too. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they're stupid, or reckless, or just plain careless. It's not even that! It’s more like... honestly, it feels like their only real instinct is to just... They just bolt straight for home! Seriously, they’ll head toward any shelter they can find—even if it means darting right across a busy four-lane highway—the second they feel even a little bit threatened. It's wild, isn't it? Just pure instinct! It’s like cats just don't get it! Honestly, all animals are kind of clueless about physics, right? They don't realize that when a car comes barreling toward them, it isn't just some slow-moving thing traveling in a perfectly straight line at one constant speed. To a cat, a speeding vehicle looks like this massive, terrifying predator charging straight for them, but they act like they can just pull a quick little maneuver to dodge it or that the car will somehow just glide right past! It makes no sense! And get this—they don't even react differently if you're standing thirty yards away versus when you're practically on top of them! Like, hello? Can we please work on the situational awareness here?! 19 milesSo, you gotta get like, six feet away first, right? You can't just bolt! You have to hit that two-meter mark before you can actually start sprinting—just like me!
Look, I’ve gotta say it—when it comes to pets, especially cats, sometimes you just gotta give 'em a little shout! You know? Just a quick, loud "Hey!" to startle them into motion. It sounds harsh, I know, I know! But honestly, isn't it better to scare them into picking a route and bolting right now? Why waste time hovering or slowing down when they could just zoom away? Better to get that momentum going early, right?! 😉

Where are all those silly dog owners hiding? You know the ones! They’re out for a stroll, leash in hand—if they even bother with one—just staring up at the clouds or getting totally distracted by some neighbor across the street. And then, suddenly, the dog decides it's time to bolt the other way! Boom! The leash snaps taut, and before you know it, you’ve practically picked up both the pup and the owner in one go. Talk about a two-for-one special, right?! Haha!🙄
Do you think they react to a doorbell or someone just shouting their name with that same kind of raw instinct? I mean, owners, right? It’s like... boom! They're already halfway to the door before you even finish pressing the button! Is it just pure reflex? Or maybe they've just got us totally trained? Who knows! But man, it's wild to watch! 😁So, like, it turns out stress can totally get to you—and I mean really get under your skin—and it’s not always just about your own dog causing a meltdown, you know? It can be anyone!

- To wipe out every single image in one go, just hit Ctrl+H => type ^g in the Find box => then smash that Replace All button

- Nah, I'm actually on a VIP plan.
- Thanks 😁
Okay, I finally tracked down the default font settings! Since I'm running Word 2007, I went ahead and added a font button first just so I could actually pick something out.

As for pasting text—man, "paste as text" looks awesome with the paragraphs intact, but is there a way to keep the bolding too? That would be huge!

Oh, one more thing... 😬 is there any way to just nukes all the images from a document with a single click? Total lifesaver if so!
Hey there!

1. So, is there actually a way to set my own defaults in Word for things like font size, line spacing, paragraph spacing, and all that good stuff? I managed to find where to set default margins, but I’m guessing there’s more to it than just that, right? There’s gotta be a way to make everything else stick by default too, surely?

2. Also, quick vent—I spend way too much time copying stuff from the web into Word, and fixing the formatting is such a massive headache. Don't get me wrong, the Format Painter is a lifesaver when you've got a huge document, but when it's just a page or two, it's honestly just pure frustration squared. Is there some kind of trick to paste text so it automatically snaps to my default settings? I'd love to stop manual editing every single time!
I really wanted to jump in here and share my experience using Neosporin. I was doing some digging on Google and noticed that other creams can also carry a risk of photosensitivity.

So, I used Neosporin for about two weeks—it was the middle of summer, so I was getting at least a little bit of sun exposure every single day. Then, after just one tiny session in the sun (maybe 20 minutes?), I ended up with this nasty sun allergy! I had these seriously gross spots all over my arms and legs. And get this—this was the first time (and honestly, the only time) this has ever happened to me, because usually, I handle the sun like a champ. I think if you check the instructions, it actually mentions that a photosensitive reaction is possible, even if it's super rare, but man, it caught me totally off guard. It was such a shock! Anyway, I had to get a 100 mg cortisol injection and use some corticosteroid cream, stopped using the Neosporin immediately, and after a few days, things finally cleared up.

If you're dealing with potential fungal issues during the summer months, I’d honestly suggest looking into something garlic-based instead... especially since the heat and all that sweating makes it the perfect breeding ground for fungus. I made the mistake of using Neosporin right while I was out tanning. Seriously, I wouldn't wish this kind of awful experience on anyone!
Benjamin Wilson7 said:Just look up VLOOKUP (that Excel function)—there are tons of great tutorials on YouTube or Google!
- Here’s the deal: those lookup values have to be sorted in ascending order in the very first column. It looks like your data is sitting in that left-hand column, right? But you can't have any empty rows messing things up—that's what Nicholas King was getting at when he mentioned it. Basically, once you start typing those codes into Column A, it should automatically pull both values for you.

- Honestly, once you spend a little time digging into how VLOOKUP actually works, everything will just click! Trying to explain it like this is tough, isn't it?

Thanks so much! I'm diving straight into the lessons now!😉
Nicholas King said:Look, if every single bit of data from that right column is definitely sitting in the left one—basically, if you don't have to worry about any weird empty gaps in your main table—then the easiest way to handle this is just to grab that left column, paste it into a brand new sheet, and then pull in the right side using a VLOOKUP.

I'm just copying columns over from Microsoft Word,
Wait, I'm confused—you mean I should use VLOOKUP?
Benjamin Wilson7 said:Hey! You should try this little trick—go ahead and hit "Find & Select," then click on "Go To Special" and just check the box for "Objects." It works like a charm!
And then just hit delete! Boom! Done!

That’s it! That's the stuff! Thank you so much!!! 🙂

Kyle Johnson2 said:Hey, quick tip! Try doing a Copy => Paste Special => Unicode Text or just plain Text. Might work better!
Or just delete the extra stuff you don't need! Honestly, why bother keeping it? Just wipe it out!

Thanks, you too! Honestly, I think I'm just gonna stick to copying and pasting from now on. It's way easier, right? Why make things harder than they need to be?! 😉

Ugh, okay, so I’ve hit another snag! Seriously, what is it with this day? Just one thing after another, right?!
I can't see the image you linked! Seriously, I'm staring at my screen like it's a magic trick gone wrong here. Did the link break? Is it just me? Maybe my internet is acting up again—honestly, sometimes I think my router needs a vacation to Hawaii or something! Anyway, if you were trying to show me something, could you try uploading it again? I'm super eager to see what you've got!
So, get this—the left column is rocking two columns, and then the right side? It’s doing the exact same thing with two columns! Pretty wild, right?
Wait, hold on—I just noticed something! The left column actually has way more data than the right one. Why is that? Is it just me, or does the layout look totally lopsided now?
So, I need to clean up some data! Basically, I’m trying to align two columns on the right side so they actually match up with the rows on the left. Does that make sense? It's such a mess right now! How do I get everything to line up perfectly?
So, that’s how it all ends up looking in the end! Isn't it just wild?

Wait, hold on... I just took a look at that screenshot you posted! Is everyone seeing this? Seriously, look at those columns! It’s like someone decided to play a game of Tetris but with data instead of blocks. Honestly, though, can we talk about how chaotic this looks? Does anyone else feel a sudden urge to organize their entire life just by looking at this mess? I mean, really! How are you even supposed to find anything in there? It’s a total maze! You think you’ve found the right cell, and then—BAM—you're lost in a sea of numbers. It makes me want to grab a huge cup of coffee and just dive in, even if I end up more confused than when I started. Who even designs spreadsheets like this? Is there a secret club for people who love disorganized data? Because if there is, sign me up, I guess! Haha! But seriously, does anyone have a trick for making sense of this madness? Or am I just overthinking it? Help!
Hey there!

Quick question for you guys:
How on earth do I scrub away all these leftover table remnants (basically Word relics) in Excel? I just want my clean numbers and raw data, nothing else!
I tried copying some stuff over from Word, but man, it brought all those annoying formatting ghosts along with it. What’s the fastest way to wipe the slate clean?

Just a heads-up, though—income counts whether it's taxable or tax-exempt

benefits, newborn grants, or
payments for baby gear. Also, family
pensions (which includes those survivor benefits)
paid out to kids after their parents pass away aren't included in that count either.

Don't you start making me look silly too! Honestly, couldn't she have just read the IRS tax forms mentioned in a few other posts in this thread? They say one good thing is enough for a smart person, right? Repeating stuff that's already been said—especially when I get hit with a ton of pushback (should I have used CAPS LOCK or something?)—instead of just staying quiet when you don't know the answer... well, that's just plain foolish. Total "lawyer-cop" behavior. 🙂

Anyway, thanks so much for answering my question!😉
