Indianapolis 2010 Road Trip in Formula 1 ·
Most of the info and pricing from that old thread still holds up, though the ticket layout might have changed since then.

As for me, I probably won't make it. I’ve been pouring everything into some home renovation projects lately, so my budget is pretty much tied up in lumber and labor. That said, I’ll know more by July... if nothing else, I'll just grab a GA pass, maybe even through an agency 🙂

Besides, you can usually pick up GA tickets right at the gate on race day. It means we could basically decide on Friday night that we're heading to the track 🤣🤣

I have my doubts that they actually release an English version.😬

And it’s actually quite reasonable—only about $108 if you already have an Autosport web account (which adds another $52)

So, we're looking at roughly $160 for 51 issues plus full access to the Autosport website. Honestly, I think those extra $52 are more than worth it.

Arthur Roberts12 said:I've been scouring their website for what feels like hours now, trying to track down where exactly they hide that algorithm, but I'm coming up empty-handed. It’s frustrating, isn't it? You think it'll be right there on the main landing page or tucked away in some technical documentation, but instead, you just end up clicking through endless submenus to nowhere. Does anyone else have experience navigating their interface, or am I just missing something obvious?🤷

Is it just me, or does it feel like everyone is suddenly obsessed with that one algorithm running through downtown Chicago? I was walking past a few spots near Millennium Park the other day, just taking in the city vibe, and I couldn't help but wonder if we’re all being nudged in the same direction by some invisible digital hand. It makes you stop and think, doesn't it? Is there a logic to the chaos of the streets, or is there something deeper at play behind the scenes? 👍

Chris Hall4 said:Does EL carry any NASCAR magazines in English if they don't have our local racing stuff? This little booklet from AAA is totally useless... it still lists USF1 as if that's even relevant!

They definitely do. You can find the English version of NASCAR Racing—you could just flip through a few pages or pick up a copy for around ten bucks at Algorithm—as well as Autosport. Aside from those two heavy hitters, there's also Motorsport, which actually dates all the way back to 1924, though I'm not entirely sure if they're even still publishing regularly. There are probably a few smaller niche titles out there too, if you know where to look...

I really think Renault should just ditch Red Bull😂

It's just constant complaining😁...
Or maybe they struck a deal to let Red Bull act as their lightning rod, just so they could convince the FIA to give them a little extra leeway under the hood?😁

Given what's being reported in the news today, that isn't exactly a funny joke...

you were busy working, while I was catching up on sleep.. 😁

I just can't wrap my head around why they hyped up such an exciting start when everyone pulled away like retirees heading to an early dinner.. 🤷 It was honestly a bit sad to watch; the only real highlights were the collision between Kubica and Sutil and seeing Fernando Alonso make his move. 😢

I certainly picked a good woman 😍 😬

Honestly, thank God I had a wardrobe to put together, otherwise I probably would have died of pure boredom watching this race 👎

This whole system needs a rule requiring at least two or even three tire changes during a race; what we saw today was just a disaster... "I couldn't drive fast because I had to baby the tires," 👎

Arthur Doyle70 said:I mean, if the drivers were actually out there changing their own tires while everyone else was sprinting toward the cars at the start of a race...😉

Well, they unfortunately changed the rules because having those slower crew members running around put the drivers in real danger. Besides, can you imagine the absolute chaos if they tried to run Formula 1 like that? It would be a total mess, honestly.

stormybadger8 said:Apparently, Red Bull is running about 1.8 seconds faster than everyone else 🤷

Honestly, that’s just the tire change timing. You still have to account for the car being lifted and lowered, not to mention those pit crew guys need to clear out of the way first, right? 😬

At this rate, I’m half expecting to see at least one car racing on six wheels by the end of the race 😬

Jason Campbell70 said:When someone uses a phrase like "about 4 seconds," they’re really describing a window somewhere between 3 and 5 seconds. ☕

I suppose it all comes down to how you choose to define delta time.
In Formula 1, we generally measure everything in hundredths rather than full seconds, don't we? ☕

Then again, there isn't exactly a rulebook explicitly defining this, so I guess you can interpret it however you like. ☕

Michael Lee4 said:Honestly, forget all this... they should just force them to change tires using a single air gun... then we'll see who actually has what it takes when things get messy. 😁

Just like NASCAR, doing two at a time 😬

Around 4 seconds, I’d guess?

The predictions are looking more like 3 or less☕

Ford didn't use anything like that, which honestly makes this look even more ridiculous... 🤣

Thomas Martin4 said:Have they even heard of a designer? Honestly, you’d think the French would have at least a little bit of an eye for aesthetics, especially when dealing with design like this. Even if we're just talking about basic light bulbs, shouldn't there be some level of intentionality behind the look? 😁 😁

It seems like they’ve designed it so that you can't quite tell at a glance which light is actually active. Isn't it strange how those little details can be so counterintuitive? 🙂
